## 8am LawPay Reviews
  ### 1. Prompt, reliable payment processing with a seamless new loan application feature

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan B. | Solo practitioner and Chandler divorce attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

They’ve been there through thick and thin with my business’s payment processing needs. Whenever I call, they respond promptly and make sure my questions are answered. Recently, they added a loan application feature that feels completely seamless for both me and my clients. I’ve encouraged several of my clients to apply, and they’ve all been approved. Overall, it’s been an absolutely wonderful service.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

They recently changed their expiration date year code, and you now have to enter all four digits. Not only is it confusing that they didn't let anyone know they were switching it from two-digit to four-digit, but to me is seems entirely unnecessary, especially at the beginning of a millenium.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dealing with customers who are not a good credit risk (they have to provide a card if they are doing a virtual appointment) or are running low on funds to keep the work going.

  ### 2. Seamless Payment and Case Integration for Solo Practices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason B. | Candidate for Utah House of Representatives, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like the integration with my case, as it allows me to handle bookkeeping, payments, trust accounting, and case management all in one platform which works seamlessly. This integration reduces my administrative workload significantly, letting me focus more on my clients and cases instead of on paperwork. Collecting hourly fees and trust deposits is made very easy, and the platform supports various payment methods, including credit cards, ACH payments, and Affinity, which means I have fewer unpaid invoices. I'm also impressed with their customer service; the team is very responsive, knowledgeable, and takes ownership until issues are resolved. The ability to offer my clients the option to pay over time through Affinity has been a lifesaver and tremendously valuable, ensuring I don’t miss out on unpaid invoices.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I don't dislike anything.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8am LawPay simplifies collecting fees, offers clients a convenient way to pay, reducing unpaid invoices. Its seamless integration with my case decreases my administrative workload significantly, allowing more focus on my clients. Their responsive customer service is an added benefit.

  ### 3. Extremely User-Friendly Setup with Excellent Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Extremely user friendly for my staff; easy to set up new users or terminate old employees; excellent customer service

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

only 2 things: 1) there isn't a direct phone number to the chargeback/risk team, however, the person I talk to at the main line always seems to connect directly with risk and get the issue resolved so it isn't that big of a deal, 2) we use the MyCase integration with LawPay, however, when payments are made on an invoice in MyCase, the notes on the transaction don't come through on the accounting reports so I have to go back to MyCase, type in the invoice number to determine which client the payment is for.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Super simple platform that always works. Financing access for our criminal defense clients has been a big help.

  ### 4. Secure, Compliant, and Easy Payments with LawPay

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James L. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay is secure, compliant, and easy to use. My clients say the payment process is very simple, and I feel they are very secure.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I don't see any downsides to using LawPay. There is a monthly fee for certain users, that don't have a subscription to the affiliated tool MyCase. Beyond the potential cost, I don't dislike anything.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This systems helps to securely provide a payment capability for my clients, either with use of bank debits or credit cards. It has a seamless integration with the tool, MyCase, which I use for practice management.

  ### 5. Law Pay is THE payment option for lawyers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I love how simple it is to use. I also love that it allows for the separation of your Operating and Trust accounts, so there is no confusion or commingling of funds. They have recently added several new features to make it even more easy for both the lawyer/law firm and the clients to use the platform. I am so glad I signed up several years ago.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There isn't (or at least I haven't found) a spell-check feature. When I'm creating time entries and then when generating invoices for billing, I don't see where you can spell check your entries.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Law Pay's payment scheduler, I am having fewer issues with collections than I used to have. Clients can schedule payments on their terms.

  ### 6. Professional and Convenient Payment Processing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I think 8am LawPay presents a professional portal for clients to pay my fee, which is great. I use the quick bill function, which is really convenient when I'm talking to a potential new client. If they agree, I can send them a bill that they can pay on their phone or online, and I get retained right away so I can get to work. I also appreciate the calendar schedule for follow-up payments.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I have difficulty tracking when people pay a quick bill versus a regular bill and making sure I look in the right spot to see when payments have come in. So one centralized location showing all transactions received would be helpful.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for getting paid for my legal services through credit card processing. It provides a professional portal for clients to pay, allowing me to send quick bills and receive payments immediately so I can start work right away.

  ### 7. User-Friendly Payments with Easy Scheduling, Recharges, and Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie W. | Bookkeeper, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

It is very user friendly. The ability to schedule payment is great. Being able to recharge a client's card with their verbal or written authorization is a great feature. Reports are easy to generate.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I dislike the constant changing of the entry screen.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to email a client that their payment is due and the ability to offer the processing of the card on "file" with their authorization.

  ### 8. Easy-to-Use, Streamlined for Case Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly S. | ATTORNEY, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like the ease of use of 8am LawPay for both myself and my clients. The platform's user-friendliness made it a key reason for switching from Clio, especially when it comes to ease of use and template creation in managing cases.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The templates and case stages automations need improvement. I want more categories for message templates and a feature to click on case stages and give client updates. It would also be great to preload standard forms into client cases by adding a single folder of documents.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for organizing and enhancing client communication. It's easy to use for both myself and my clients.

  ### 9. Game-Changer: Secure Online Payments That Integrate Seamlessly with Juris

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay has been a game changer for our firm. Since the pandemic, we’ve been emailing 99% of our clients invoices. Clients requested an online payment option. LawPay provided that option through their secure payment portal, which integrates with our Juris billing system. We include a payment link on our invoices, which provides a simple and secure payment option for our clients by simply selecting the link provided. There is a separate link to accept client retainers and send payments directly to your client IOLTA account.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The only downside to 8am LawPay is when a client payment via eCheck is rejected for whatever reason, because LawPay advances the funds to your account as a courtesy, we must reverse the payment until the payment is resubmitted and we can repost the transaction. It's a nice option that they offer but I'd rather the transaction be confirmed and paid before it's available in our account. This has happened only a few times in the years when been using LawPay.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 8am LawPay online payment option has saved us hours of work. We no longer have to take client phone calls if they request to pay by credit card. We don’t have to store their credit card information in a locked cabinet. Instead, all credit card information is saved on LawPay’s secured portal. They also have the option to pay securely by eCheck.

  ### 10. Easy Payments, Fast Receipt Notifications, and a Smooth Website Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cruzita-Maria T. | Billing Manager/Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Easy to use and take payments. Fast notifications of payment receipts and/or failed payments. Easy to navigate the website. My firm has been using LawPay for quite some time, since I have recommended it and everyone enjoys it. LawPay makes receiving payments so much faster and easier for our clients. Customer support - used once and was easy to receive assistance. Overall, a great service that our firm enjoys using.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I have no issues with LawPay. Always an easy and great experience.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fraud attempts and 8am LawPay is on top of this and handling it in a timely manner.
