## Lansweeper Reviews
  ### 1. Excellent Inventory Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | I.T. Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

The auto-scanning is my favorite feature. Lansweeper offers a comprehensive look at all devices on your domain. Computers and user accounts which haven't been seen for a while are easily identifiable. If used in a team environment, the dashboard offers a fairly simple way to post status updates and network alerts.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The helpdesk system is lacking. However it is still new compared to Lansweeper itself. The knowledgebase also needs a bit of work. Formatting is poor, and it doesn't retain layouts when copy/pasting documents.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Buy it for the inventory management. Helpdesk and Knowledgebase still have a way to go.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Warranty tracking is an invaluable part of Lansweeper's arsenal. Software version tracking is easily accomplished using Lansweeper's built-in and custom reports.

Lansweeper helps us track projector and laptop loaners as well.

  ### 2. Low cost inventory solution with additional features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

Ease of scanning - very easy to get set up and scanning your devices. Some it can't clear without manual intervention, but a great way to find things on your network, especially things you may not know about, and give you daily reports. Plus you can't beat the price

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

Somewhat clunky at times - the speed of scanning could be better with larger implementations. Reports can be hard to write from scratch, as you have to do it in database language, not anything graphical.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

I think the licensing cost for the helpdesk is too much. I'd stick with something free, like spiceworks helpdesk unless you have a solid business case. For us, the software deployment isn't worth figuring out either - we use PDQ Deploy/Inventory. However the inventory features of lansweeper outstrip PDQ inventory in that it can inventory any network item, which is vastly superior.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory, some basic scripting/installation

  ### 3. Good scanner but not a fan of the new pricing model for asset management.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonard G. | System Engineer, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

Lansweeper has a very nice interface that correlates the data from different scanning methods.

The flexibility for scanning methods and credentials makes for a robust implementation.

The ability to add devices to location maps.

Reporting and tracking network changes.

Maintaining software compliance

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The ultimate version use to include unlimited assets and remote scanners. With the new licensing structure, you have to purchase blocks of assets and the remote scanners are no longer included. With the new pricing, you are paying to maintain assets that have been disposed of but still listed in inventory for a historical record. This limits the usefulness of Lansweeper as a complete asset inventory solution.

While Lansweeper has a nice tracking feature for software purchase orders, it is lacking when it comes to tracking purchase orders for assets. You can add custom fields for vendors and purchase order numbers but it is not adequate.

The help desk feature is very lacking. I wish you could completely remove the feature instead of disabling the menu.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Lansweeper is a very good network scanner but it is lacking as a complete asset management solution. I would not waste the time evaluating the helpdesk features.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking changes to network devices and software compliance.

  ### 4. Lansweeper is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carvell W. | Information Technology Specialist, Hospitality, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

This application is so robust and easy to use. Just one installation file opens the door to so many features. I use it mainly for asset management, from the first day I used the trial i have loved all the feature. Everything about this application is great

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The pricing and options could be a lot better. The scanning options needs more improvement, the Scanning Exclusion area needs the most of this work. It is a pain to add exclusion one at a time verse doing an upload of the exclusions

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

You really need to evaluate this, it so easy to implement and go live in just hours.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for asset management. It is great and ensure we comply with polices we have in place.

  ### 5. A must for Enterprise Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

The interface and accessibility are the best parts. Customizing takes a bit of work but in the end when it's all set and ready to go, it's fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

There are a few things that are changing but that's only with regards to Operating Systems as they progress. For instance, certain functions like Power On LAN don't automatically work but they can work with a little bit of tweaking.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accountability of Software Licensing and reports of what's where and how many of it we have. It's easy to set reminders of when certain peoples hard drives are filling up so we can assist them in either cleaning up or migrating to offsite storage, same with upgrading peoples ram by seeing who needs it most.

  ### 6. Perfect for small business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

Very easy to use for beginners and small business (free for less than 100 assets). Very easy to install, just execute the installer and you're up and running.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

I don't really have any bad feedback for this product because it's free and it can do everything I'm looking for. Quick inventory, software version inventory, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

It's nice that you get the full features free to use before deciding to buy or not. I prefer this over Spice Works inventory which I found slow and hard to run.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use this to inventory software so I can see what updates and patches I need to deploy to keep the site up to date and secure.

  ### 7. LANSweeper works well for tracking assets and licensing compliance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven C. | Technical Systems Analyst, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

LANSweeper is a fairly easy to use web application that allows us to track various information related to all devices on our network.

We use it to validate various pieces like encryption compliance, software license audits, etc.

Provides a fairly easy to use interface for creating and running reports.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

Performance is the main dislike. We have a very beefy server running this product, and having it load and run any type of report takes a little longer than ideal.

This product is also patched often for bug fixes and such - which is sometimes annoying to manage.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Make sure you have a fairly beefy server to run this product.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cracking down on unlicensed software for super users. Sometimes users will install freeware software unaware that there is an enterprise licensing component. Honest mistake on their behalf, but it allows us to track things that are non-standard and enforce immediate removal.

Also allows us to verify exactly how many seats of a license we are using when it comes to true-up time with our vendors.

One of our common uses it to validate if any devices are missing antivirus products, and see if the definitions are up to date or out of date.

We use it to track operating system types as well. When it comes to doing OS upgrades, this product comes in handy to find if any old devices are being re-added to our network.

  ### 8. Very Power Network Inventory and Reporting Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam T. | Implementation Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

The ability to see an entire network, create reports, create asset locations, and have a live view of current network status and usage.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

There is nothing about this software solution that we dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Lansweeper is well worth the cost. I can't imagine how our organization would have kept track of all assets prior to the implementation when I arrived. This is a powerful piece of software that will close so many gaps in your day to day IT operations.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lansweeper allows us to keep track of all of our warranty information for PC's, Laptops, and network hardware. We are able to see current network statistics and use remote assistance to solve issues. This software allows us to have a birds eye view of our organization by showing all assets in all locations.

  ### 9. Smart inventory management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

The use of network scanning to inventory devices is extremely manageable after the initial setup phase

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The UI could be quite overwhelming, but the trade-off is that there is a ton of information in your face

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Great for if you need a powerful tool to help keep your devices in check. Works exceptionally well if you're under a domain and have the same snmp strings for your other devices.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To have an automatic procedure of inventorying network-connected devices and keeping them updated

  ### 10. Two Thumbs Up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Information Technology Director, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

We have been using Lansweeper since its inception, and don’t know what we would do without it. It surpasses other network inventory software in features, support, and price. We support 4 locations with 350 users and over 1000 devices. Lansweeper enables our IT department to locate detailed network information quickly. The days of Excel spreadsheets are over for us. In addition, the adaptability makes Lansweeper invaluable to us.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The only problem with Lansweeper is that we leave it open all day!

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can create endless reports based on device statistics and details. There is nothing that can be logged on a device that Lansweeper can’t make a report of. This feature alone saves us time, as well as giving us the ability to be proactive for information technology problems. On top of all else, the support is unmatched. Between the forums and one on one support, no issue goes unsolved. Lansweeper definitely prides itself with happy customers.

  ### 11. LanSweeper: An absolute MUST

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clint N. | Director of Information Technology, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

We've been using LanSweeper for nearly a decade now and it gets better every year. Always loved the inventory tracking at a reasonable price, and just recently they added a help-desk feature that is perfect for us!

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

Any problem we've ever run into always seems to be resolved in the next release or two. Mac support could be better though.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Try it!

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory/software management and how HelpDesk!

  ### 12. Best network inventory there is

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krzysztof L. | IT Systems Engineer, Hospitality, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2015

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

Without this product we sure would struggle.
It is very easy to set-up, doesn't need any agents installed on devices and provides clear view of scanned items.

Lansweeper allows for scanning entire subnets, you can add different credentials based on machine, IP or range. On scanned devices you have access to Software and Hardware installed, last user logged on, power scheduling and more
You can run set of remote commands like WOL, restart, msi uninstall and more that you can add.

Very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

The only issue I am having with is the scanning speed.
We have over 2500 network devices across 76 subnets. Lansweeper works 24/7 and never stops scanning. The amount of network addresses it has go through sometimes overlaps with other scanning scheadules

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped us with software auditing as it lists it all nicely.
Helps finding out what user is login on the what pc
Determines what PCs needs upgrading by listing by spescs

  ### 13. An essential tool for the growing Enterprise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James L. | Helpdesk Technician, Insurance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2015

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

I love that LanSweeper has a clean interface and is simple to setup and configure. The built-in software deployment is very useful and has been a real help with keeping software updated throughout the organization. The LanSweeper forums are full of exceptionally helpful information and guides. The configurable Active Directory security allows us to control who can access the server and what they are can and cannot do.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

LanSweeper has some inflexibilities when it comes to network scanning and there is very little Linux device support. The bigger issue is that the built-in report creation tool can be confusing and difficult to use since there is little documentation about all the tables and their contents.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

A improved version of LanSweeper with similar feature support and professional support options.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With LanSweeper we have been able to track our assets throughout the company easier, it also allows us to monitor and manage software configurations and make necessary changes using the built-in deployment. The real benefit is the built-in helpdesk tools, which are of significant value to any helpdesk department.

  ### 14. Awesome, time saving tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew P. | IT Manager, Cosmetics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2015

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

It's so easy to use compared to other solutions on the market. Anybody can just pick it up and have super quick access to any and all information they require.
The format is intuitive and the depth of information is insane.
The integrated feel of the whole system.
Quick actions like ping/remote C$ drive/etc
All devices in one place
The support is very quick and reactive, and the people I do with have been friendly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

Lack of multi-language support. Should be able to remotely fix the WMI errors on windows by rebuilding the repository and rebooting the service. 99% of the time it resolves the issue.
Inability to add IP wilcards, like 1.1.*.1, or via regular expressions.

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

Utilize the trial and you will never turn back.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Lansweeper on top of our existing ITSM solutions to provide key information to helpdesk users, to manually map assets to users for asset management, and to use as a reference point for troubleshooting assets.
It's also useful as it's our only tool that supports clientless scanning of OS X devices

  ### 15. Lansweeper

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2015

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

It is probably the most seamless tool I have used to date and from my personal experience in gathering as much information as possible. It picks up on almost every if not all LAN capable devices, servers, switches, desktops, laptops, mac and linux, it's very useful.

You have to tweak it to get it as perfect as you like it but the premise of Lansweeper and how it works is pretty convenient. It's a lot easier if you have a domain [controller] though, because if you don't you have to scan each machine manually unless the admin credentials for each computer are the same.

You can automate it with times and you can scan separate IP ranges which is also great, that way you can isolate specific devices you don't want to show up.

It's also great the amount of detail it actually pulls, things like user login activity and recently installed software are very useful and can help find out the last few things that happened before something bad happened.

You can also execute remote commands such as shutting down and RDP and many more, all from 1 console. Scanning is very simple and easy to learn but takes time to learn the ins and outs of this system.

There are a lot more things I like but that's just a few little things I have picked out, there is a lot more to do with this.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

Some of the non windows-based machines do not seem to be consistently scanned by Lansweeper. I'm not sure what the cause is but since most employees will be on Windows and that's what you'll most likely want to scan it's not a massive issue but it would be great if Lansweeper had that 1 step ahead.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auditing licensed software is extremely easy with the ability to look up machines that have a specific application installed, because you can export that same list with the machines against that statistic which saves you so much time and effort doing it yourself.

  ### 16. LANSweeper for the inventory win!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John W. | Desktop Techninja, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2015

**What do you like best about Lansweeper?**

all of our "organization owned" devices, of any OS, are inventoried, contacted, and we know where they are, and what they've been doing.

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

I have nothing to report for a dislike, as I continue to learn about LS weekly!

**Recommendations to others considering Lansweeper:**

If you want to have daily connectivity inventory reports about computers, new, old, unknown, including machines that are nearly off warranty, will be soon, and all those that are unaccessible, going off warranty, off lease, out of AV, can't access, and all those unknowns that IT pros want to be in control of... Lansweeper does that.

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory control, tracking, OS changes, A/V installation, really, too many options are available in LS to share in a concise section.

  ### 17. lansweeper the one and only

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2016

**What do you dislike about Lansweeper?**

nothing at all it is easy to use and we use it frequently

**What problems is Lansweeper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy lecensing inventory
