Language Tool is simple and easy to use. It's similar to Grammarly. You can copy and paste your work in to be checked Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found any real things I don't like. Sometimes it might not fix my grammar 100, I realize I didn't make complete sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Multilingual tool which quickly helps with grammar and spell-check. It supports foreign languages too. The highlight feature works well to highlight the errors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
word limit in basic option. The limit should be increased. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use LanguageTool both as a part of products that I develop and as a plugin to my development environment to get live feedback on my own writing. I love that it is configurable (in response to user feedback, we have tweaked many rules), multi-language, and available in an open-source project. The list of language rules available is also quite staggering, at least in English. Additionally, LanguageTool is surprisingly performant and even when I throw large chunks of text at it, it returns feedback very rapidly.
Furthermore, on the one occasion when we have raised a concern with the developers (a spelling correction that was somewhat contentious), the open-source team was responsive and pleasant to interact with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LanguageTool's flexibility comes at the cost of a learning curve. When setting up from scratch I found myself interacting with a large number of configuration files, digging through Java class hierarchies to understand how things fitted together and looking through XML files to understand exactly what triggered certain rules. Language tool helps me ensure all communications I send are written correctly and with the best word choices. After marking everything that is wrong, you can also tap on the option or icon at the bottom, and it'll give you synonyms or word suggestions to help you improve your content. The color coordination of the different errors helps visually show where your writing skills need improvement. I like that it will check the day of the week and how sentences are structured within your writing. The base application is free with the option to upgrade. I like the multiple language ability as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a bit annoying when it automatically checks web-based apps, and you have to go in and turn it off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It offers an extensive grammar check, including errors in spelling, punctuation, and orthographies. This app also provides quick corrections and suggestions to help writers become better at their craft. I can edit documents on my phone while I'm away from the computer since it's compatible with many other platforms, including mobile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
