What I like the most about Labguru is the ability to create step-wise SOP and pre-populate our experimental procedure on the day of our experiment. ELN recording is most efficient when we use the step-wise format for standard procedures. The customizability of the Labguru protocol is great because it is flexible for different types of assays. We've had problems with Labguru running slow on iPads/tablets in the lab. We obtained iPads to use in the lab for elimination of paper notes because we thought this was a convenient and portable alternative to laptops. We recently switched from using Excel for batch records to Labguru. While the transition has been mostly positive, there are a few downsides as a high throughput QC lab. Not only is it easy to implement and easy (and logical) to use, but the customer support team is highly responsive and very effective in resolving any problems you may have or updating any features that you request. We use LabGuru daily for our ELN and LIMS needs, and the many extra features such as automation or label printing allow you to go above and beyond.
