What do you like best about L7|ESP?

What can I say! This is a great FDA compliant platform. The platform, itself, combines some great and more known apps that are used company operations. Also, this is such a great platform to connect external devices from bar code printers to lab instruments. I like that the platform is constantly adapting to this ever-changing world that we live in and able to be so flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

The downfall to the platform is that it is still in an introductory phase, meaning, it is not as popular as other platforms and isn't used by most businesses because it is slow to adopt different apps that companies are finding a need for. I know this company can be great they just need to be slighty quicker in adapting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

This platform is making collecting, analyzing and organizing lab results. It allows a great platform to maintain lab inventory and data management. It has definitely make life easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

Ability to tie cell therapy product data / client sample data to each sample tested by the laboratory and display that information in application and on labels to aid end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

Hardest part of the implementation was that there was limited core content (templates) for tests, which made the implementation reliant on the quality of information obtained via business analysis form the subject matter experts in the lab. Luckily, my team and the ESP implementation team did a great job eliciting requirements and building to them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

Replaced out legacy hospital LIMS (that is being replaced by Beaker in 2025), allows us to associate appropriate product data to each sample tested easily in a way that minimizes duplicate data entry Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

What we love about the ESP product:

1. The Builders application - Since we signed on with L7 and the ESP platform, we have become thoroughly impressed with the improvements made within the platform to simplify our ability to customize our unique workflow chains. The Builders application is a significant step forward in providing our team autonomy to design and execute new workflow chains and protocols to stay aligned with our R&D goals.

2. The LIMS application - Our lab and bioinformatic teams have worked with L7|ESP for over 2 years and continue to provide positive feedback regarding the LIMS interface and UI. The LIMS at CSI has undergone multiple DOH-required audits by our CLIA body with great success each time!

3. The Reports application - Our lab utilized the Reports application to create customized reports required by CLIA to maintain compliance.

What we love about L7informatics:

1. Customer service - L7 has managed to sustain a culture centered around customer service and success even with its exciting growth as a company. In a sentence: working with the L7 team is a gratifying experience; your needs will be heard and acted on.

2. Proactive communication - The L7 team does an excellent job sustaining contact with you throughout the year to ensure your needs are constantly being met. This is significantly better than waiting for problems to arise and dealing with any issues after they have occurred. L7's proactive communication ensures your team's continued progression towards company goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

With ANY software or platform solution, there are improvements that you would like to see implemented to improve the customer experience. This is just reality! Over the years, we have communicated to L7 that it would be a tremendous help to improve the customer onboarding experience by implementing learning material and courses that provide detailed instruction regarding the ESP platform. They have responded strongly to this suggestion! Our team is looking forward to strengthening our knowledge of the ESP platform via the L7|University courses offered by L7informatics in the coming year! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

L7 aids in our lab's ability to process our custom CSI-Dx® assay in a scaled and automated manner while not shortcutting any necessary steps to meet our CLIA-Compliance requirements!

Specifically, we use esp to execute our test system's Pre-analytic, Analytic, and Post-Analytic phases! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

It makes reagent tracking a lot easier. At one point we had to make a table of all reagents used for a specific process over the course of two years, and we were able to do that, because that had been tracked in ESP.

The reports system is also helpful for being able to quickly find specific information, and the example reports shipped with ESP are very helpful for understanding how they work and developing ones specific to our own needs.

In general, once the workflows are setup, they are easy to use and incredibly helpful for recording information for lab procedures and experiments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

Documentation when we first started working with L7 was not good but has since improved considerably.

Releases occasionally have odd bugs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use ESP as our LIMS system. As a CLIA compliant lab, there's a lot of information that we have to track, and we've been using ESP to do that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

We had a good experience with the implementation team during the initial development process. The subsequent rollout has gone well, especially considering the many interdependencies between entities, functions, protocols, etc.

The system is highly customizable, with the ability to make changes using both the UI and in code (python, yaml, etc), and the corresponding ability to import/export these changes such that everything can be versioned and deployed to multiple environments for testing. The training provided by L7 on these functions was beneficial and sped up internal development.

The L7 support team has been responsive in helping us deal with any issues that have come up as we transitioned more teams to the production system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

The extent to which you can customize the system is impressive, but it also makes for a steep learning curve. The documentation provided is helpful, though there are some gaps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using L7, each group recorded data in various Google sheets, which was very error-prone and made it challenging to aggregate the data automatically. Now that data entry is more reliable, we can track more items with improved granularity. Going forward we'll get more value from our experiments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

Working team was enjoyable and flexible. The L7 team wanted to learn more about our business area and its impact. They worked to understand our needs and were responsive to questions. The team was open to shifting working methods to accommodate different team members and ensure an in-depth understanding of their platform. They regularly sought feedback on the process and the documentation/training that was available.

The ability to build within L7 and not need strong or any development experience. Once a foundation was constructed by L7 and internal dev teams, I could quickly put together my chains, workflows, etc. to support continuing and evolving business needs without having to take up the time of an engineer. The L7 team not only handed us the tools to build within their system, but spent the time to teach us the nuance within that system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

Some disruption due to internal L7 changes and changing team members meant lost time and lost requirements. There was a lack of transparency on what was occurring sprint to sprint that made communicating progress difficult to internal stakeholders against initial requirements.

For non-developers or newer developers, working through what was ESP schema vs. Python caused a steep learning curve. Performance issues have forced users to change how they operate to accommodate the system, and enhancements/fixes have been a long time coming (release delays to the core system).

Communication has been more limited post-deployment, but that may tie into the fact that we've focused on internal development rather than continuing co-development on current projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our company was looking for a way to streamline and standardize our operations team’s workflow steps in a way that was available and visual to all stakeholders/impacted parties and allowed for data connectivity with other software. We were looking to kill off spreadsheets that lived on various local drives and were susceptible to error and loss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about L7|ESP?

- Wonderful customer support!

- Creating new and updating existing content becomes intuitive.

- Included Python client provides a relatively straightforward but, at the same time, powerful way of interacting with ESP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about L7|ESP?

- Parts of documentation can use some improvements (lack of details or misleading). This issue is, for the most part (if not entirely), solved by the customer support though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is L7|ESP solving and how is that benefiting you?

ESP allows us to

1) Keep track of samples throughout the testing process.

2) Bridge together wet-lab and dry-lab processes in a seamless manner.

3) Execute complex bioinformatics pipelines with a click of a button.

4) Track reagents LOTs and their expiration dates. We always know when a reagent is about to expire and which specific LOT was used in a process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
