Kong Being an open source gateway helped to exploit the usefulness of APIs to the maximum with the support of its plugins. Applying it to pre-existing systems was very smooth and the plugins helped a lot to enhance its functions. Deployability of the same is very flexible where we could deploy it in multiple ways. I like the ability to configure services, routes, and plugins through Kong Manager. I also like how developers can use the Dev Portal to create and manage API credentials. I wouldn't say I liked that it was troublesome to create unit tests for the custom plugins. When we started using Kong Gateway, it was also not simple to have automated integration tests. It's not immediately clear how to retrieve graphic results from the Kong Vitals feature for requests that occurred more than 12 hours ago (I don't know if it is possible, we're using Kong 2.1.3.1).
