Kong API Gateway is easy to install on several platforms (k8s, VM) and is very feature-rich.
Several plugins allow me to apply policies to my APIs at a global or granular level, from securing the API, request/response validation to rate limiting to name but a few.
There is a very active community which is great to see, and most plugins if not bundled with the product have been written within the community and you can add these to your Kong install pretty easily. Observability is a key component of Kong and without much trouble, you can generate and display health and traffic level metrics. Kong integrates with all your well known third party monitoring systems e.g. prometheus. grafana and ELK (plus many more - these are just the most common ones) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As mentioned before Kong API Gateway is easy to install and feature-rich, but I think one of Kong's negative aspects is its documentation. The documentation is not always very clear, often missing information and sometimes I have found the examples/tutorials don't work. Something I think they can improve on. It's easy to get started with Kong API Gateway, as there's no high learning curve. You're able to download, install and deploy the first API in a maximum of 10 minutes. I also like the Open Source mentality and the clear vision of where things are going.
In addition, Kong API Gateway provides great flexibility concerning the deployment architecture, since it is independent of a certain platform or architecture. Kong API Gateway can be deployed in a Standalone mode on a variety of Linux machines (Bare metal or Virtual machines), as Ingress Controller to a Kubernetes Cluster or in a hybrid model, separating Control and Data Planes, where the Data Plane nodes can be deployed to any Cloud or even on-Premises. This flexibility differentiates Kong API Gateway and makes it an option in a broad variety of use cases. Furthermore, the Gateway can - depending on the use case - run with a minimal resource footprint and delivers stable and high performance.
One last thing to mention concerning the development philosophy of Kong: Since everything in Kong is an API, the Gateway can be seamlessly integrated, e.g. in existing CI/CD Pipelines for automating the overall API lifecycle, which makes API delivery extremely efficient. There aren't things I don't like about Kong API Gateway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As the Kong API Gateway extends the Capabilities of APIs and also we can upscale Microservices by routing the Client using the Abstraction layer, if in case of Building up their own Target Service. Also, Kong helps in Load Balancing across their loads concerning Multiple Services based on their usability. So the Implementation of duplicate Functionality concerning Applications can be easily identified based on the Security. As the KONG as API Gateway is used as an IAM Solution, and also the applications that are being run using KONG are Scalable under AWS Workloads, So the different ranges of installation across the several other Containers make the deployment happen Quickly. Sometimes there may be a risk of Complexity due to all the API Rules that may disturb Routing across Multiple Channels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some of the downsides of this gateway
- Considerable learning curve and adoption.
- Plugins are available and custom plugin development is not very flexible Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kong has an incredible UI experience and the accessibility of various plugins and the simple accessibility to various stages makes it more utilitarian when contrasted with other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There aren't many dislikes on my list, but some plugins are only available as an enterprise license, which can be somewhat annoying. I believe it is slightly expensive for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can be deployed quite easily from a container
It is easy to start using the API and we can deploy our first API within a few minutes
Simple and easy to manage APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although the pricing is quite expensive for a team of 1-10 members of a company, except that I have had no negative experiences using it for the past 3 months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kong API gateway is an excellent product. It has many features that qualify it as the most trusted gateway. The thing which I like the most about this product is its beginner-friendly structure which makes it quite simple for first-timers to use it. Apart from that, the variety of features acts as a cherry on the cake. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although the API is good, it lends it down is its customer support. Dealing with connection-related issues can be cumbersome due to its poor customer service. I'd be happier if it's improved a little bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is easy to use and we can scale the service as per the requirement also it is the most secured one for microservices and distributed architectures. Great performance too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing but the credentials are provided by the admin as we customers can't change them, and customer care support needs to improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Architecture is spot on. Documentation is spot on. Learning Labs are spot on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike any thing. I come from a background of developing before the internet as we know it. No windows.... So... I understand and appreciate the architecture Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
