What I most like about Insomnia is its user interface. You don't feel burdened by hundreds of options or buttons. Most things are easy to find, and the distribution of Request's List, Request Body, and Response Body are lovely and understandable, especially on small screens. What I dislike about Insomnia is that it doesn't have a free tier and doesn't support as much automation as Postman. Apart from that, it is an excellent REST client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kong is easy to use, setup and simple API gateway which can provide proxies to your microservice architecture. It can provide extra features using plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've had to contact support in the past with upgrade issues who were really helpful and responsive to the questions and issues we had at the time. I dislike that there is still not aligned the path for the declarative approach. I see in a future pull request there is a kong2kic subcommand which makes me positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kong Gateway provides various options to configure and run in customer-hosted infrastructure. Kong also provides a lot of ready-to-use artefacts to install and configure the Kong gateway with a few steps. It out of the box offers a lot of plugins (policies) to govern the APIs and also provides the capability to develop our own custom plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Kong community is still evolving and there is little help available in the community to discuss issues. The documentation is also limited over the internet.
