KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Pros and Cons

There are so many materials to choose from and they are very easy to set-up. The materials are of a high standard and very topical. There is always something that you can use for your campaign. The phishing exercise we have set-up monthly is also very useful.

One thing that could be improved is the way the training emails are sent out. Most of my colleagues always ask if the training emails from KnowBe4 are legitimate because they sometimes can look like some of the real phishing emails that we get.

The phishing test mail headers on KnowBe4 are riddled with headers that obviously identify them as coming from KnowBe4 and it makes these tests easy to circumvent. It is trivially easily to just make an outlook rule for "If mail header contains word 'KnowBe4' -> move to spam" and people will never have to deal with these ever again. KnowBe4 is very easy to use and implementation was a breeze with the help of their support team. We use training campaigns on at least a monthly basis and they really are effective at raising security awareness amongst our staff. The KnowBe4 platform provides a number of different avenues for trainig and testing our staff's competency as it relates to security. There isn't much to dislike about KnowBe4. The only mild frustration point, and this is ultimately not an issue with KnowBe4, but more of an issue with how tracking and reporting is done, is that the system tracks whether an employee clicks a simulated phishing link via a unique ID code in the link. This only becomes an issue when someone is out of the office and they have their email forwarded to other members of their department. There's an expression, I think could be reattributed to KnowBe4. Shallow enough for a child to swim in, but deep enough to drown an elephant. KnowBe4 can be as complex, or as simple as you'd like. It easily caters to organizations of any size. Implementing new campaigns or training programs is a breeze. There are few downsides to KnowBe4, and that is primarily centered on the GUI. It often takes multiple clicks to get to a menu. KnowBe4's console would greatly benefit from reduced clicks, adding to the user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

KB4 does a great job of keeping the training relevant and current. The quarterly mandatory training has been very successful in the adoption rate, and we attribute this to the interface and the content being applicable in business and their personal lives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ihave used KNOWBE4 for most of my IT career and it just gets better and better! The many offerrings on the topics, from the movie series' to the games and the tailored to a specific audience for the modules such as C level trainigs etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In the phishing campaigns, it would be great if we could search on a user to see what email they received and not have to scroll through a long list of users until we see who we are looking for just to click on the email and see what they got. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Short and to the point, relevent training that allows the user to be informed about current security issues that he/she may encounter not only at work but also at home. It is current, you won't be wondering how old the video is. It is easy to understand. From working in IT with the administrator of the software, he comment on how easy it is to deploy the training to our staff and students. The training not only includes the videos but also fake "tests" that make sure users are learning from the training they complete. This is done on a monthly to quarterly basis. KnowBe4 has provided us with a way to deliver and track cybersecurity training that makes sense for our institution. We've used it for Cybersecurity training, Title IX training, as well as a number of custom training modules that we've created and uploaded (as SCORM packages). User management has been a struggle in some ways. We opted NOT to integrate using Active Directory because we don't offer the service to our full user group. The users need to be managed manually, and that has presented a few issues especially working with fewer licenses. KnowBe4 gives us the ability to educate our staff on the elements of cybersecurity safety with a high level of professionalism.
