I can pull up comparables in seconds, and generate graphs to show trends super easily. While I am quite computer-literate, I am by no means an IT guy, but I have still been able to successfully dive deep into the function of this app and get the results I am looking for. ALSO, the customer service team here has hands down been the best and most responsive of any business app we have ever signed up for. They answer your questions super quickly and with fantastic knowledge and detail. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** There are a few things I'd love to see this app be able to do that it can't, but they are very very specific, and I haven't been able to find any competitor programs that have better solutions than Kintone. (Things like daily updates to track how long a product has been listed for sale, comparing today's date to the listed date. They found a very functional workaround for this, but total automation on that would be great for me.) We had been managing ther operations with multiple spreadsheets (and spreadsheets of spreadsheets . . .) and quickly outgrew that. Kintone is robust enough to scale up, and the cloud access works great. We are still likely scratching the surface of what we could do. But the bottom line is that the barrier to entry (with regard to usability and cost) is low. That was key for us. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** The default interface is sometimes not pretty or slick. That said, it is highly functional, which is what matters to us. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to track multiple interactions and individuals in real-time. He has helped me to map out and implement an incredibly complex database system. He has been there EVERY step of the way. Without his help this project would've never made it past concept for me. #2 - In general the system user interface is incredibly user-friendly. It's intuitive and easy to edit, modify, tweak, add, as you go. That said, where Kintone goes WAY above and beyond is how much their staff helps you to think through and implement complex aspects of the database(s). They've helped me to improve/streamline the way data is treated and managed. Their help with writing calculations has been invaluable! To a layperson, the help menu area can be a bit overwhelming when trying to figure out how to write calculations, import data efficiently, create merge templates, etc... So again. I go back to the PEOPLE. I can't stress how much I've loved working with Tomo and other Kintone team members. Every person has been responsive, friendly and super helpful. This is so uncommon in this day and age when dealing with software and technology. Keep this up and y'all will rule the world. :) **What do you dislike about Kintone?** 1. When mapping or building filters, reports the data points aren't sorted alphabetically. That has been my one grand pain point because it makes finding the fields you want really tough. I know the field I need but because things are sorted by when the field is added and not alphabetically, it makes locating fields for future reports/work much more difficult. 2. I'd love to be able to have tables in field groups instead of tabs. 3. I'd like to be able to stack and sort fields more tightly to save space on the display screen. 4. when in the list view, I'd like to have row data not expand past the setting I have on the view screen when I click on the edit button. 5. Maybe some pre-launch mapping tools would be useful to help users think through the structure of the databases/relational databases. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our marketing information was spread all over the place. In network files, documents, desktops, spreadsheets, etc. Kintone is helping us to create a centralized and relational set of databases pertaining to opportunities, projects, staff, industry partners, clients, and more. When this project is launched and our data migrated into the system it will save hundreds of thousands of work hours. We'll be able to more efficiently generate accurate, up-to-date project and resume information. We'll be able to locate data point is a click. We'll be able to parse and visualize market sectors, win-loss, clients, geographies, staff licenses, and so much more. I'm thrilled at how well the database project is coming together. Also when I need to speak with someone at Kinetone the persons on the phone at the other end speak English in a way that I understand. My team is always ready to help and easy to reach. It performs as advertised and got me up and running very rapidly. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** Kintone is missing some features that occur in most other applications I've tried - like formatting a phone number (xxx) xxx-xxxx - we read this better than a string of 10 digits. Even the Kintone Team admitted that there should be a way to make that happen. So I guess I'd say a little rough around the edges. From the functions I have used, it has been quick and easy without any tech. issues. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** I feel like Kintone might not be the best program for our organization because we need a database that is going to act as a "hub" or "one-stop shop" for our staff, volunteers and clients. Right now it is only staff have access to it. Yes, it holds our records, but we need the database to do more. We need a space where we can hold information, easily download and analyze data, user friendly for volunteers to use. For example, our organization has to collect attendance reports from our volunteers and then enter it into kintone database. It would be ideal for volunteers to be able to fill out a form that auto-fills into kintone. Things like this would save us time. Robust features to customize almost any need an application or use case may have. Was able to create an entire inventory tracking system with mobile app capabilities to include taking and storing of pictures open delivery and pickup of packages. Check In/Out of boxes and items with audit logging. Literally took a day maybe 2 to perfect the setup and go live in production after importing the excel sheet into the database. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** The licensing model has a flaw in that it treats ever user equally nearly so building an application that may have a user that uses that application 7 hours a day is the same license and cost for a user that only uses it 30 minutes a day. It can very quickly turn a simple application from a few dollars to several hundred or thousands if you invite an entire company just to use the app 1/10 the amount of time the main super users do. This can be cost prohibitive and remove the no code low code convenience if over 3-5 years it costs far more than just a custom developer would. The user permissions and application permissions is a little confusing. The model really could benefit from hourly credits like a pool of hours for non-essential users and then flat rate active fulltime access. Keeps it cost effective and allows for blanket installs of users across an entire org when you are unsure just how well adoption will be company wide. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** Inventory tracking, forms tracking, audit logs with picture verification with a check in/out functionality of files in storage. Customer can request a box and it starts a workflow process with approvals for the life cycle of that packs and keeps historical logs and audit trails of who did what. Extremely Helpful Staff **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** GM D. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022 **What do you like best about Kintone?** The best thing about Kintone is that they walk you through all the steps on how to create an app. They take the time and effort to make sure you know what you're doing and make suggestions as well **What do you dislike about Kintone?** If I had to pick a dislike it would be how you have to create individual views records for each app, instead of being able to just copy and paste. **Recommendations to others considering Kintone:** Kintone offers a "Free" trial, and while using the free trial the support team works side by side with you to answer questions and help anyway possible. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** We currently use many forms and have to file these "paper" forms which in turn have to be kept for five years. I am sure we will be utilizing Kintone a lot more once we get this up and running. The support and help we have been receiving from Kintone's regional manager, Hiroki, has also been the absolute best so far. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** There is nothing about Kintone we dislike so far. We have yet to go live but everything has been running smooth without any glitches. I will update this review once we do go live. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kintone is keeping our records organized. Helps me locate documents quite quickly. Kept records in Excel previously, now that we have Kintone, this allows our company to add pictures and attachments needed for the files. These issues have been resolved since migrating to the full service. Managing user roles/departments can be a bit tedious. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** We recently deployed Kintone as a bid management application/CRM platform that is aggregating all of our sales data together in one easy access location. Plus, it's fun to figure out how to most efficiently organize data in Kintone. You are able to create apps which keeps different data separate and organized, for example, one app for budgets and another app for meeting notes, but you are also able to connect the data across apps so all of the budget and meeting note data that is in separate apps will link to the same client. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** Because it is so customizable, sometimes I'll set up a task or table and then realize that it was not the best way to do it. My coworkers have also called it clunky and hard to adapt into their work flow. We have expanded the data tracking of our organization exponentially because of Kintone. It is VERY easy to create an app and easy to import and export data to a spreadsheet. I also LOVE that Kintone offers a Non-Profit price break. It allows us as a small non-profit to use a wonderful tool. We keep adding apps and increasing our ability to gather quality data. **What do you dislike about Kintone?** There are a few features that are missing, that would be helpful. 1) searching for a partial name, like typing "JA" and having all of the names that meet that being available to select from. 2) being able to sort the 'apps' based on my personal frequency of use rather than when they were created. **Recommendations to others considering Kintone:** Ask for a free trial. It is easy to see after just 30 days if it will work for you. **What problems is Kintone solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are tracking so many data points. It is very easy to provide grant funders or the general public with solid data.
