I consider the most invaluable aspect of the kentico environment, the ability for content editors to quickly upload and lay out page content, without the need for professional developers. I also like the rich features such as web parts, widgets and predefined templates, making it very easy for developers to establish a base line website very quickly. My biggest dislike or pet hate is that there are so many ways to approach problems in the environment, that it is sometimes difficult to come up with the ideal solution, without spending a great deal of time on research , and testing potential solutions. A further issue i have is that when approaching the help desk, i find some of the responses sometimes point the developer in the wrong direction, and they all seem to come up with different scenarios. Maybe a solution to the problem from the developer, and the adviser is to make sure an agreed understanding of the problem is well understood by both sides. I also find that a lot of the documentation on certain subject/solutions tends to be limited and only partially presented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of use, less training, ability to customize and out of box features available, customer support is what makes the tool unique from other competitors in this space.
It takes very less time to train a new developer or on board a content contributor. It is very flexible to extend and customize the product. The support is always available. The amount of out of box widgets available are sufficient for us to get going. It takes very development time for us to build new sites and meet challenging deadlines. We are able to take advantage of support a lot and team was able to solve very complex problems in no time with help of support. The market place is available if we have to integrate. WE were able to integrate the product with Salesforce,Bazaarvoice, SiteImprove and many other marketing tools to extend the features and take advantage of the capabilities of the tool. We are able to leverage the A/B testing, polls and other features within the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrades on Portal Engine development model. In the current environment we need to keep up with upgrades and the amount of customization we have to take care for custom code when we upgrade was taking time to port over to the new version. We are planning to move to MVC which will minimize this efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, I manage and train 97 Content Editors and 75 Content Contributors in Kentico - so they are able to update their websites. I was able to create small tutorials to take users through each stage and even walk them through how to make changes over the phone. The ease of use for our content editors really makes a difference and allows me to have more free time to tend to other tasks.
I also appreciate the ease that I am able to create a user profile & set permissions > as well as impersonate a user in order to troubleshoot an issue. The system is very robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kentico Learning has some very nice training courses that we have purchased. However, what I would like to see something similar, but more of a "What do you need to do" and jump to that specific training. For example, I wanted to learn about transformations, and I would have liked to have seen a link in the training jumping me directly to the section about transformation, but a note linking me to prerequisites.
Basically, a technical support type of training where we can read up on various configurations, string snippets and oh yes > more examples to play with (in our training version of Kentico which comes with the paid training seats) . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This software is highly customizable, and can be tuned to just about any business need. I think the ability to have content hierarchies along with categories are the biggest business value for us. This is compared to other CMS's, where everything is a flat hierarchy of different pages, maybe with related pages. The API is also super easy to use from a coding perspective. It can be cumbersome to manage.
Updates
We have ours deployed into Azure and Azure SQL, and updating it is an extreme pain, since it can't be updated in place. We have to restore the database locally, then go to
Syncing
The out of the box staging system never worked well for us, so we worked around it by syncing the databases between dev and prod. This is super gross.
Permissions
Sometimes finding the correct permission for a user can be annoying. Like, you might give a user edit permissions for a pagetype, but because they didn't have read permission of something else, they won't be able to actually edit the page.
Support
Support is absolutely amazing, and I've never had a bad experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the fact that many APIs can be added as a native option and the Data Sets and sources can be linked quite easily. The framework is really simple and any code modification can be done without much effort by going through the inspect elements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I can not say enough about Kentico Xperience. The complete layout and the logic used is great. Using Kentico I can create awesome web applications and even websites easily. The complete development project can be rendered in a matter of minutes since the client application itself is very light. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest, I do not know of any topic which is related to Kentico Xperience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The template can easily be used and modified to suit any Web Development project. There are a lot of addons that we can apply and appropriate image support is also available in the case where we are making a company site done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to dislike about Kentico Xperience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that Kentico Xperience can be used in any domain and any function. The versatile features are what one would need to develop a great Web Application. One major plus point is that the projects can be exported and use in other Software Development Applications like Visual Studio and Ruby on Rails Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The cost of the software is one hefty one for the pocket, so one has to think a lot before purchasing for the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
