The real-time dashboards and reporting are incredibly useful, as they allow me to understand utilization, project health, and forecasted revenue without the need to pull data from multiple tools. The resource planning capabilities stand out, enabling me to see capacity, skills, and future demand all in one place, which helps in making informed staffing decisions. The resource scheduling tools are also very intuitive, making it easy to assess availability, skills, and workload, which facilitates quick and accurate assignment of the right people to projects. I find the forecasting and scenario planning features to be highly effective, allowing me to model different staffing or budget scenarios and understand potential impacts before making changes. Additionally, the time and expense tracking function is straightforward and reduces administrative work, ensuring project financials remain accurate. The best thing about Kantata is that I can see budgets and time entries in real-time. I struggled with our old project management software because it didn't include time tracking. I spent so much time trying to see where we were at on budgets before Kantata. Now, I can know in real-time. Kantata finally gave us the ability to add custom task statuses so that has been a huge help as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Thankfully, after many years of using Kantata, I've seen great improvements with some of the little things that used to bother me. The only dislike I have now is the fact that checklist items don't have to be checked off to mark a task complete. You can now create workflows where you can get reminder notifications/emails to remind members when a due date is coming up. Finally, the mobile platform/site has improved tremendously. Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble): I highly recommend Mavenlink for project management. If your job is to make sure that projects are getting done on time and within budget, this is by far the best tool out there. Yes, there may be some things that it doesn't do as well as others, but they are constantly making improvements and the customer service/support is wonderful! My biggest business problem that I'm able to solve with Kantata is knowing where a project stands with regard to budget, in real-time. It doesn't take me hours to figure it out. I know at the click of a button. This has made project management more efficient. One other big improvement they've made in the last year or so is custom task statuses. The system serves as a foundational tool for reporting our company’s revenue performance across multiple regions, providing reliable, real-time visibility into financial outcomes. It is instrumental in setting and tracking revenue targets, enabling leadership to monitor progress with accuracy and respond proactively to any variances. What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)? Encouraging user adoption of the system can be challenging, particularly given the extensive range of functionalities offered by Kimble. While the platform provides powerful tools to support end-to-end business processes, the sheer breadth of features can be overwhelming for new and existing users alike. What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you? Historically, revenue reporting was managed through manual Excel files, which posed challenges in terms of accuracy, version control, and scalability. The implementation of the system has resolved these issues by introducing a centralized, automated process for tracking income. This has enabled the business to review financial performance in a more streamlined, consistent, and reliable manner. With real-time access to revenue data, teams can now plan more effectively for future periods and make informed decisions with confidence, free from the risk of manual errors. In addition, project time tracking has been significantly improved through the system’s integrated and user-friendly timesheet functionality. This allows for better visibility into how time is spent across projects, enhances billing accuracy, and ensures compliance with internal processes. One of the most impactful advancements has been the system’s adoption for resource forecasting and availability planning. Transitioning to this new approach required a major change management effort, particularly given the scale and diversity of our global teams. However, the benefits have been substantial. We are now in a much stronger position to anticipate and respond to resource constraints proactively, improving project delivery timelines and overall workforce utilization.
