## Joomla Reviews
  ### 1. Joomla for Businesses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sonya T. | Web designer / President HOA, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I like the flexibility in building the sites and I like that the components are more robust in Joomla.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I dislike that there are not enough add-ons available for the Joomla pagebuilders that are out there.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I would recommend using Joomla is you are building a site for a business and you want more flexibility in the design and usability. It provides a better way to allow users to access things from the frontend.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently using Joomla to accept class registrations for 4 of our locations. The component that I use is better than any component I've found for other open-source web platforms.

  ### 2. Web design projects can be much easier and more flexible with Joomla

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron S. | Digital Media Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

The design environment is something I'm very comfortable using in Joomla. I like that we can create or use and existing template to piece together web pages quickly. There are many resources from Joomla and the Joomla community that help us to implement new websites and work through common problems on our own. I like that we can add many extensions that can quickly boost the functional capabilities of our website without having to commit lots of develop time to it.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I have enjoyed using Joomla, but there aren't as many templates available for this platform as their are for something more popular like WordPress. It's generally not as easy to work in Joomla as it is in WordPress either.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

For faster web development and flexibility with changes, I would suggest trying Joomla. Though it can be complicated than working with WordPress, I think working with Joomla can be manageable if you are more advanced WordPress developer.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joomla give us a way to develop and piece together websites without having to spend an enormous amount of time writing unique code that can be prone to bugs and compatibility issues. We can alter design easy by moving around visual objects and switching out web components without destroying the integrity of the overall website structure.

  ### 3. Easy to use, but has some bugs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah L. | Administrative Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I really enjoy how Joomla is more or a novice/intermediate style of webpage editor. It has spots for just code, and input boxes for things you're used to like font, size, color, hyperlinks, pictures, etc. However, for those that know some code, or a lot, there is a spot for entering code. There are are so many things you can add onto your webpage through Joomla.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Sometimes, if I don't know what's going on with the coding, it can be quite difficult and long to figure out whats causing the problem. I also have to double check that my changes have been saved (obviously a duh thing), every single time. Without fail, a hyperlink will be broken for no reason, or a picture won't update. I'm not sure if it's because the servers are slow, or what.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you're looking at using Joomla, it's really important that you have someone at your business that knows code, including HTML, and CSS to be able to troubleshoot some issues, and really customize the whole layout and order. It also helps if the person who is create and curating the webpage is knowledgeable in some code, because without it, it is possible to make a good looking webpage, but not as successful.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I've been able to solve with using Joomla as a webpage editor is just an overall sense of unity and consistency for our brand, but also being able to provide students with the most accurate information about their professors, events, contact info, etc. We also use Joomla to curate news articles that feature students and how they are involved at the University.

  ### 4. It is made to intensify and open the creativity of its users.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan V. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I like this program because it is much easier to use than others of its direct competition such as WordPress. It is also great because it allows me to list by title in alphabetical order to be able to perform different searches of pieces of content, thus increasing the organization of content. Another determining factor is that I can have many extensions to customize in a great way.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

It has very few negative things to highlight Joomla, I think you should work harder to be consistent with the program updates. In addition, the platform framework should be a little more flexible to develop greater user intuition. It is important to note that it would be very good if I could make simple editions for the images.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I recommend it because it is very good for complex sites where customers with low precision in terms of technicality develop. Joomla is also an excellent open source software that will help you manage most of the needs of your website or that of your customers. Without a doubt I consider it as an is excellent program.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most departments are using it and address the complete need to have a CMS that is simple and efficient. We use it to work on several websites for our clients; We have also launched it for e-commerce portals and without a doubt in the world of social networks. It has been a tool with important skills that has strengthened us in the field of creativity.

  ### 5. Joomla review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Easy to use, intuitive, not much of a learning curve, it is simple and user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

It takes some time to get started, but then it’s ok. Overall it could use some improvement. I think users like the ease of accessing all the options and can get support when needed. I think this is a tool that many people with no website development experience could use.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website content management, updates, website creation, etc.

  ### 6. A Satisfying CMS software.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya B. | Co-Founder, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

1. Joomla is easy to install. It takes about ten minutes from installing and running it on your PC. Not quicker than quick.cms or wordpress but a lot quicker than drupal.
2. Plugins in Joomla are like pre-loaded and comes with thousands of free plugins which makes it easier to use Joomla. It makes it a lot more functional than it's competitors.
3. You get an extensive discussion board where you can learn new things as well as you get many tutorials and programmer tools, that is an abundant support also comes with joomla.
4. The script has a good navigation management too. Even with a couple of hundred sub-pages you can easily navigate through it's interface because it has a comprehensive navigation management.
5. The links that are created by joomla are very friendly and keeps the SEO position high in the market. It generates some good looking URLs.
6. You can update your script to a newer verion from the web browser itself.
7. Admin panel can be intimidating at the beginning, but with time you can learn it and unlock it's full potential at your use.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

1. Joomla has limited server resources. That is, it is not made for a very large amount of traffic. You cannot expand your site on server parameters.
2. Some of the plugins are paid are to be paid in Joomla which you can sometimes get for free in scripts like wordpress and drupal.
3. for some plugins to use, you may have to work some serious code in PHP for the plugin just to be compatible in you script.
4. Beginners can find the site over whelming as there are a lots of functions for the beginners to look at.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you are a beginner at using a CMS software, you might want to consider Quick.Cms or Wordpress at the beginning because Joomla is just quite hard to get used to at the beginning as there are a lot of functions available to use. Else, Joomla is indeed one of the best CMS softwares in the market.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joomla really helps in great content managing for the work. It's navigation and many free plugins help in editing and updating the web-pages easily. But it is indeed a quite hard to use for beginners.

  ### 7. Marketing made easy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I love that they provide training videos are you get stuck on something and have the right extensions.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Cost compared to other platforms are very high.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the flexibility of adding extension to see what fits my desire. The mobile friendly function is the most beneficial being that most people use their phones.

  ### 8. A Good support but will be hard for newbies in CMS.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya B. | Data Science Intern, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla has abundant plugins to use, you will find that the script has many free plugins which are already available at the home page. It is also very easy to install, takes only around 5 minutes to install. I noticed that the script also has a good navigation system management. Moreover, you'll also get good looking URLs. If you need to update a script, you can do it from a web browser itself. You also have an option for advanced option for administration.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

What I dislike is that you only get limited options for adjustments, as for like advance users you'll always find something missing form the script. Joomla also cannot handle large traffic on the website, it is not that efficient in handling the large traffic yet, that is you get limited server resources which are only good for low traffic websites. Many advance plug in are paid for the use.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

It is indeed a great free CMS to use with many of the plugins free to use. But if you have experience in Wordpress or Drupal and are a kind of advance user, you'll always find something missing to use. It is good option for newbies. Installing is easy as well.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use Joomla for monitoring the traffic. It has simple navigation and average UI which I oddly like to use. If you have some experience with CMS systems and If you want something more than wordpress and something lesser than Drupal, I think Joomla will be a good choice for you. As the script is free, has good number of free plugins, templates and modules. For multimedia content it is indeed a good choice. It is where it works best by means of performance.

If you have a web developer who is already familiar with Jooma then there is no need to hesitate in deciding which platform to use.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Joomla is not as popular as WordPress in the mainstream web design community these, days, and therefore the number of third party modules, ad ons, and online public support requests which guide other users is not as strong as it once was.

If you find a Joomla template that you like, or a third party "plug in" or module that has the exact functionality you need, then thats why you might decide to use Joomla in the first place over the more popular WordPress. Easy post management, admin tools, robust and simple post management for task delegation

The structure of Joomla allows me to quickly develop websites that up to modern standard for website designs, navigation and functionality. The open source nature of Joomla makes it a great development platform for minimizing costs and implementing a website content management system that is easy to update. There are lots of website templates that we can use for Joomla that can be downloaded for free from the Joomla community or purchased at web template websites.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

It can sometimes get very complex and confusing to work with some of the more advanced components of Joomla. Compared to WordPress, Joomla isn't as user-friendly out of the box, nor does it have as many extensions and other resources that could help implement various added features almost instantly. More technical knowledge is required when working with Joomla.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

For those that have the time to dive into Joomla, I think it could be good for having lots more design and customization options rather than depending mostly on a visual user interface that has limited editing capabilities.

Joomla is a good content manager that allows me to manage large amounts of information, its administrative panel is very intuitive and customizable, I can download add-ons and very interactive templates, something I like about Joomla is that it has very good features to manage the positioning of my web.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

In order to configure this cms, programming experience is needed, I also consider that making a backup of my websites is a bit complicated.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you need to create web pages with secure databases, this is the appropriate option, but keep in mind that this content manager is not for beginners.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Undoubtedly, this is an excellent tool with which I have been able to create secure websites that must be constantly updated, since it has a control panel with which I can easily manage images, documents and information.

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I like Joomla mainly because of the advantage offered by its modules and accessories, they are easy to install, configure and use. Also, I think it's an excellent CMS for designing and creating websites very easily. Also most of the add-ons and modules are free or free software, although there are also some payments with better features. Compared to Wix, Joomla is not so easy to configure, I think it has a similar difficulty to WordPress. It may end, I consider that an important point is that the web is always kept updated thanks to the constant update of its core and modules.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Despite considering it one of the best alternatives for the design and creation of websites, I consider that security is a point to take into account in this platform, because I do not consider it to be as strong as in the case of other CMS platforms, and another point that I do not like so much is the difficult one to publish pages, on previously they must be linked to a menu to be public and easily accessible. I also consider that some more advanced configurations require extensive programming knowledge. Despite this I think it is a great platform for creating websites.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I recommend this platform mainly to create simple websites and blog, because it is easy to manage and maintain. Many templates and add-ons are cheaper than WordPress and this is ideal for companies with low budget. In addition with Joomla you have great control of the website, and the multi-language module is really useful and easy to use. It is also important that this CMS has a very strong community and willing to support and help its users in whatever they need. Finally, I recommend that the administrators of this platform always keep it updated to prevent security problems

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the company it has allowed us to create various portals of the company to show content of interest to our employees, to make an internal digital newspaper in the company, and also the creation of an information portal for all our customers and allies.

  ### 24. If you're looking for a Wordpress alternative, worth considering

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla has ironed out its quirks over the years, and now presents itself as a professional content management system with a good set of plugins. Advantages are that you can specify what elements appear on which page out of the box,

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

There are probably less free plugins/addons available than there are for Wordpress, but there's still enough available for most purposes.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I made one site which needed 2 separate designs in one. This would be quite tricky to achieve in Wordpress, but with Joomla it is easier to implement two templates in one single website.

  ### 25. Joomla! has been an excellent content management platform to create a more lively website.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tory R. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

The upsides of Joomla! include its price, as well as ease of use in uploading content and articles to the website. It's very self-explanatory and has powerful SEO features that optimize my company's content. The convenience of uploading content has saved my team time and money.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I dislike that the platform is often very slow and not updated. It's taken me as much as 20 minutes before to upload an article, which normally would have taken at most 2 minutes. Joomla! upgrades have often broken the extensions on the website, causing major headaches and website issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

Explore the SEO features of Joomla! I wasn't aware of these and the keywords and meta data can make all the difference in maintaining a great SEO presence.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Normally, using Joomla!, we save time on administrative time and also on paying an outside web developer to upload the content for my company.

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

It is an online platform with which I can create very advanced web applications, I like Joomla because I can install different modules for different purposes, its interface is very intuitive and it is also very customizable if you have the necessary knowledge, it is very good to take statistical control of your application or web page.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

To be able to use Joomla requires a good knowledge in web programming since some of its functions can be a little difficult to understand, besides the installation of some modules can be difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

Before using Joomla, keep in mind that you need some knowledge in web programming to make some of your configurations, but there is no doubt that it will be a very useful tool in your work.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Joomla I have been able to develop many interactive web pages, it helps me to manage them easily and simply, another thing that has helped me is that it allows me to create large projects in just a few days.

  ### 27. Probably the best CMS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla is one of the best CMS that we can find, in addition to having a long history. For those who are not familiar with it, it does not allow creating a website relatively easily, since everything is managed from a control panel where we will be entering the content or changing the appearance of our website. The installation is also done through a wizard on our web server. It is mainly designed for users without much experience in web development or professionals looking for a more direct result without caring much about customization and functions. Its use and download are free, and we can add additional functions through the hundreds of components that we can find.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Security flaw, I recommend not leaving the basic configuration and spending some time improving this aspect. Its default appearance and functions are fine, but if you need to expand or customize the website, you will need more advanced development knowledge.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you are involved in the world of web development, I think it's an option to seriously consider. For quick and simple creations, it's a very good choice, and then you can work on that base. It's also recommended for types of websites where the content is dynamic, such as news introductions, articles, etc., as that is its main advantage.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Perfect for creating basic websites or those that won't have much content or customization, as you can create them quickly and with virtually no cost. Managing the content is also easier with Joomla. You can customize access for different users according to their administrative roles on the website and have everything better controlled.

  ### 28. Would definitely recommend Joomla

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

The simplicity definitely, as I've used Wordpress prior to Joomla but Joomla just feels like you have much more control of your website. It definitely has so many different options and endless possibilities making it the perfect content management system for beginners.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I would like if there were an option to directly visit the article/page you are currently working on instead of manually having to go to the desired web page. Also, it would be great if you remove the feature which logs you out of Joomla if you're inactive for a few minutes, lost my progress so many times.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

As I've used Wordpress prior to Joomla but Joomla just feels like you have much more control of your website. It definitely has so many different options and endless possibilities making it the perfect content management system for beginners. First and fore most content management, adding new articles to the website and lately, we've been integrating other features with the website such as Pardot and automated email responses and it works like a charm! Would definitely recommend!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla has some great features as a content management system, but we have made the switch over to wordpress. We have found that Joomla was great for what we had but now the standard seems to be moving away from Joomla so we had to do the same

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Joomla is missing some features that wordpress has, the plugins for wordpress pretty much have everything possible you could need...they are easy to install and its not even compaing apples to apples in that front.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I would unfortunately recommend to switch to Wordpress before trying Joomla. It was good while we had it but wordpress has so many more bells and whistles

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joomla was our content management solution, however it grew old and tired, and we needed something fresh to stay current with todays trends.

  ### 32. Joomla Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey C. | Direct Marketing & Communications Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

There's honestly not must that I like about Joomla. There are things that I can work with and learn to use, but it is not the most user-friendly content management system that I've ever used.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I dislike quite a bit about Joomla. I think the module function is not user-friendly and helpful to a normal marketing manager. I think that a website/content management system should be useful for marketing people and not require some kind of technical training. It's hard to use, there are a lot of steps to create a basic web page, and there are a lot of bugs. I also think that the interface is hard to use and hard to understand.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you have a very simple website with only a few pages (and a lot of technical training in website creation), then this may be the product for you, but other than that I recommend looking for better alternative options.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joomla hosts our website which is definitely an issue if we didn't have one. But, it is not a user friendly system. The only benefit is that right now, with this platform, we have a website. Although, we have realized that with the user issue programs internally, there are just as many externally. Because of the organizational functions of Joomla, our website is not user friendly at all. Unfortunately, as a non-profit, this was all that was available to us. We are looking for alternatives in the future.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

As compared to other tools like wordpress, Zoomla has little bit complicated Interface moreover the updates usually take a lot of time. Sometimes I feel that the website designed on Joomla have less and improper protection and can be easily cracked.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Joomla for website creation. Though I don't have any technical knowledge of Coding but through its pre designed templates I was able to create few websites, moreover it is SEO friendly.

  ### 34. A robust and adaptable content manager

**Reviewed by:** Maria Elena Z. | System Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

The extensions allows you to add a wide variety of functions without writing code, you can have and manage very robust web pages, its interface is friendly, everything is clear and understandable, I can say that it does not require special skills to work with Joomla.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

The performance begins to be lacking once you start installing add-ons and functions, and other advanced configurations require specialized programming knowledge.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you are looking for a content manager that is robust and free, this is an ideal option, however, it is convenient to have basic knowledge of web programming.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the features currently present in Joomla, it is more than enough for my team and for me to develop very secure and fully operational websites.

  ### 35. With Joomla you have better control over your web application

Joomla sites are lighter and have better performance than wordpress sites. Joomla as has options that enable to make your site load first like optimizing images or enabling gzip compression

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Unlike wordpress, Joomla is a little hard to learn or use and requires a lot more technical knowledge. Joomla does not have such a large community of templates and plugins that you're afforded with wordpress

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joomla allows you greater control over your web page to optimize performance.

  ### 36. A good CMS, but it has fallen behind

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla is a free CMS and content manager. It gives us the ease of creating a website without having much knowledge of design or web programming. There are a multitude of modules that add functions, many free and others paid. The control panel it has is intuitive, although it can improve in many aspects. The installation is easy through the assistant they provide us.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

It has fallen a bit behind. Currently, WordPress is much more widespread and has more modules, extensions, and community support. It doesn't receive as many updates as before and has security issues, which could lead to attacks that damage our website.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I think that nowadays there are better options. If you are going to use a CMS, go directly to WordPress, as it is better in every way from my point of view compared to Joomla and has much more content and of better quality. The security is also greater. As a test, for learning or simple websites, Joomla can be the target.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, it helped a lot when creating a website, as it saved a lot of time in coding and design while achieving very good results. Also, the management of the panel helped you a lot, allowing multiple users to have access and the insertion of new material was easy to do.

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

I have been using Joomla since version 1.5. Joomla is an incredibly powerful CMS. It has a very well thought out structure and framework that allows ease of use while not compromising on the ability to produce some really complex websites.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I find that clients often battle to upload their own content and I feel this feature needs to be addressed to appeal to a wider audience. A mobile app that allows users to upload directly would be a game changer.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly building and deploying full featured, responsive websites that look great a function really well.

  ### 43. Joomla, a great CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan T. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla is a CMS, Content Manager System, with great potential and very good features. Their strong point are that it is very simple to use, since you only have to create content pages and menu items and inmedietlly you have the website working. Related with the appearance, you just have to install a template that you like and will automatically change the layout of the page. There are inifinitas webs of templates and contents.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

In general, it's very easy to use, but when you want to get out of the usual tasks, the level gets very complicated: modules, modification of templates, changes in the internal code.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

I recommend Joomla to everyone who wants to develop web pages regardless of the level they have. If you are a beginner you can start very quickly, and if you have a high level you can make very interesting projects.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our case we use it to make full web pages, because for a low cost we can get a website with a very good look.

  ### 44. Joomla - easy to use if you're not a Rocket Scientist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Rapid, easy deployment on most hosting platforms. One click install helps many novice users get up and running quickly, especially those without any technical experience. Open source, tons of plugins (many of them free), easier to learn compared to other content management systems. To summarize, Joomla is: easy to learn, flexible and stable/secure.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

I don't have much to say negatively about the platform, but compared to Wordpress, there just aren't as many (quality) of-the-shelf themes available. Using this platform as a shopping cart is also limited as far as plugins go, at least for the non-developer type of user.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

For me as a developer, I found Joomla to be the easiest to set up and get running on my own. As a user/admin of a Joomla site - it's about as easy as it can be to manage my content.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small company, cost plays a role in many of our decisions. Using Joomla, has helped us manage costs building and maintaining the websites we create for clients. It is very easy to setup, and we have created our own starter package to get the instance running on any hosting platform supporting Apache/MYSQL very easily.

**What do you like best about Joomla?**

Joomla is a really robust platform with lots of available plugins — you can accomplish a lot with it.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

The size of Joomla is also it's downfall. It's trying to do too many things for too many people. The content and navigation systems are clunkier than WordPress and we've struggled to combat SEO issues that result from the organization of pages/content/categories/items.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

If you need a relatively simple website, then Joomla is probably more than you need.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to build websites almost exclusively on Joomla, but as SEO became a big consideration and WordPress improved, we eventually switched over almost entirely.

Surely one of the first CMS products. It has evolved a lot and all those years of experience are noticeable when using it, as it has a lot of configuration. If you are a user without experience, it will take you 15 minutes to understand how Joomla works, and if you are a web programmer, you will see that you can do amazing things.

**What do you dislike about Joomla?**

Really nothing. As I said, it may take a couple of days to understand how to add content and structure it, but once this is resolved, the rest was very easy. It's clear that it has nothing to do with existing portals that generate a semi-automatic website.

**Recommendations to others considering Joomla:**

Joomla was one of the first to come out, and it continues to improve. Support is easy to find through its active open-source community. The setup requires a small review of the manual and a bit of browsing through the community website, but once you overcome this initial hurdle, everything else is easy to use, intuitive, and super flexible to meet everyone's needs. Remember also that it is completely free.

**What problems is Joomla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started using Joomla when I needed to create a web portal for a company to sell its products. It took me quite a while to build the portal from scratch, but once finished, the quality was very good and the client was satisfied. In the future, the client themselves will be able to manage their portal since we will provide training so that they can modify content on their own.
