Developing web reports is an extension of working on excel on the web - Easy transition from excel to dynamic web dashboards - Budgeting and planning is very easy to implement with some dynamic reports - Visual and easy to follow ETL process that makes it very easy to track each steps in the ETL process - Ready compatibility with a plethora of modern DB systems - Ability to run R code as well other programming scripts to automate some tasks - Simplified security management and admin tasks **What do you dislike about Jedox?** - Initially the training was absent on the tool so lot of struggle to understand the mechanics behind. Now the training is improving a lot and they are taking steps in the right direction with training. - It is important to make sure that Excel add-in for the current version of Jedox is safely stored in the organisation. As it becomes difficult to source the add-in for older versions difficult to find. - Despite being an amazing product, if the entire ETL development is carried out inside Jedox, there is a risk of dependancy on the product in case going forward the organisation want to reevaluate its BI suite, the switching cost will be very high and pretty much start from scratch will be required. A mitigating approach would be to adopt a mixed bag approach by doing major part of the ETL on SQL server or the like and to do the rest in Jedox. Although, considering their constant R&D enables them to keep their product very relevant by packaging new functionalities in newer versions so even end-to-end development in this platform should yield great results if there is a long term commitment to the product. **Recommendations to others considering Jedox:** It is a great product especially for small Finance teams who lack the resources and knowhow to cater to a large scale BI team. Visual sides when combining rows is not very easy. Creating different views for users could be easier. Some people do not mind entering #/!, but some dislike it a lot. Pricing per user is high when the budget is entered for one department only by one person during one month period. You can import different datasources to involve many pre-systems in the etl-tool and I always found a possibility to transform these datas in a way / format to combine datas in a usefull way. In the designer-module you can create formulars in a typical Excel-design, so you recycle all your existing know-how for new solutions. Dynaranges allow to create very dynamical datasets to show your datas easily, while you format these datastructures in the way you want. When I started with Jedox some years ago there was no solid way to create rules, today you can create rules in many situations across your whole informationcubes and that´s a boost for your datamodels, especialy when you route your colleages through your forms. I didn´t expect to many improvments through the years, but I was surprised so long and I´m excited to get the new release. **What do you dislike about Jedox?** Nearly nothing. Sometimes you have to wait one release to use new topics to avoid errors. **What problems is Jedox solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Jedox to create our yearly budget and to review or realocate our goals. The process works bottom-up supported by a promptly reporting of actual informations. As a real estate we can´t use the typcial calculations like selling products, so we had to create calculations for our specific business, like deciding our investments. Another benefit is to collect different numbers to our esg-situation, where you can collect many heterogeneous informations year by year and you can organize and document the informations across the company. ### 23. Jedox support often ask too many questions, and it takes weeks to resolve an issue. Also, I wish the Excel Add-on would be available for Macs. **What problems is Jedox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Saving time is the biggest benefit we have realized. It truly is a tool that impresses due to the proposition it offers to the market! **What do you dislike about Jedox?** Improvement proposals are: - Informative captions in the development of the form/report without the need to consult the modeler; - Charts that do not need to be linked to a cell, allowing direct interaction with the Palo function. **What problems is Jedox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Normally, I would say that 95% of organizations have part of their data stored in databases and part in Excel, which significantly affects: - Data reliability due to being spread across various spreadsheets without centralization; - Causes crises due to delayed decisions because of the time taken to generate reports; - Highly qualified professionals spend a lot of time generating information instead of consuming it. These are some of the main problems that every organization faces, and Jedox has come to provide simple and affordable solutions for these types of problems.
