I love the diagnostic tools and easy jump to functionality that takes me right to the input screen. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** I struggle with Proconnect's document management process. It's sometimes a treasure hunt to find documents uploaded by clients. Proconnect is a great solution that is fairly comparable to the very expensive software used by my former medium sized practice (CCH). One thing I really like about it is that you don't have to purchase a new software every year, and you can also make it so you don't have to navigate to a different software to pull up a prior year return. You also don't have to worry about hosting your the software and files on your own server, that is already being done for you. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** I wish ProConnect would add the ability to include tick marks. I find it chanllenging to review a return without this ability. With a lot of companies, you have to have a large upfront cost to purchase the software. ProConnect streamlines that for me. It's easy to implement and get started preparing tax returns quickly. The integration between QuickBooks online and the software is easy to use and helps save time on business returns. Having access to customer support, a help portal, and the training portal all within in the software is helpful and makes troubleshooting quick and easy. So far, I haven't had any issues with not being able to log in and use the software so it's nice to have a program that is available no matter how frequently you use it. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** If a client removes you as their accountant user in QBO, it removes the tax return. There is a way to manually add the client back but only administrators are able to do this. Importing W-2 information is problematic and it's often easier to manually enter the information than it is to correct the issues with the import. The e-sign process is difficult on the client side and often causes problems getting signatures. **What problems is Intuit ProConnect Tax solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's always a challenge to find an affordable tax software with good benefits. I can work at my office, at home, or on vacation without worrying about safetey, security, or additional software costs. The cost per year is affordable as an early-adopter who meets the renewal deadline. The software is easy to teach new employees who have limited to no tax experience to do basic input. It allows for multiple users to be linked to the same tax return and has a wealth of "tax return status" options that my team members can use to quickly verify a client's status. I like the "check return" and "suggestion" features. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** PTO is not the best option for high-volume firms since you pay-per-return. My firm does about 200-250 returns per year and the price is competitive with ProSeries for that number of returns. The software is exceptional as it relates to its user friendliness. We use this software frequently during tax season as well as non busy season periods. I enjoy the intuitiveness of the software and I like you can search for forms, sections, etc while navigation the tax preparation software. I am also impressed with the integration of the software if your clients use QuickBooks. The client information integrates seamlessly with the information located in QuickBooks and saves our staff a bunch of time on administrative work. The implementation of the many different features the software offers is outstanding. I am also pleased with the level of customer support that is provided with the software. Many of the customer support team are very knowledgeable if you come across any issues and are equipped with the experience to help navigate any issues you may face. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** One of the things I dislike about the ProConnect Tax software is I wish there was more training on the different forms for individuals, businesses, etc. I also would like to see the software integrate the attachements that are attached to any return in the return preview stage and when it's time to print the return. I believe that will help provide a piece of mind as it relates to completing the preparation of a tax return and having the reassurance the attachment or attachments will reach the different tax authorities. I would also like to see an option to customize tax return cover letters where there is a specific return cover letter for the federal tax return and a separate cover letter for the different state tax returns. **What problems is Intuit ProConnect Tax solving and how is that benefiting you?** ProConnect Tax is helping me solve tax preparation timing issues as it relates to the amount of time it takes to prepare and complete tax returns. This helps our firm tremendously on cutting down the total time it takes to prepare and file a tax return. This helps improve our efficiency as a firm. Also, ProConnect Tax is also helping our business solve tax planning and tax strategy for our clients with the new advisor feature. As a result, this opens up opportunities with our firm to earn additional revenue with tax advisory services. ### 11. They save me time, make my work easier and help it flow smoother. The Customer Support is quick, but I noticed it's dropped off in expertise over the last year. The number of features continues to grow and most really enhance the tax preparation process from data collection to tracking efile status. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** Advertisements. In the peak of tax season when focus is a must and time is precious, I have to build another step into my routine to scroll down to the tax returns in order to click on the search bar because every single time I go to the Tax Returns screen there is an advertisement to staff up my firm with Intuit. I know you're trying to improve your bottom line with more sales, but it certainly doesn't make me feel like you value me as a client. It has seriously had me looking elsewhere. **What problems is Intuit ProConnect Tax solving and how is that benefiting you?** Data collection, accuracy by tracking with flags. However, I very much wish we had the opportunity to change our email address for our accounts. I no longer wish to have all of my clientele under c_madero@hotmail.com, but would much rather transfer them under chris@maderocpa.com. It provides many internal functions that help the tax preparer administer operate an effective tax preparation business. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** ProConnect sometimes does not check down boxes to minimize tax, and it does not flag the user for scenarios that are likely to causes of error. I've never found it to be innacurate at all. Can prep returns fast and do everything all in one place. Really good customer service too. I had an easy time inegrating from what I was using before. Dashboard is useful to show where all your returns are at any one time. For being cloud-based, responsiveness of the software is impressive. The software is intuitive and very easy to get started on, especially if you have Lacerte experience. E-signature integration is impressive; the process is very seamless. Pay by return structure is helpful for smaller practices. I have not tried the transcripts integration, but that seems like a very cutting-edge feature. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** Interface is not as comfortable as Lacerte (harder to navigate with a keyboard and you can't use keyboard shortcuts. This results in a lot of clicking around). Forms take a momentto refresh when the input is changed, even on simple returns, unlike Lacerte or ProsystemFX where the refresh is almost instantaneous. Intuit Link seems to work "ok" but the invite process can be clunky. PDF tax return does not have bookmarks, which is quite annoying. Very limited customization options on transmittal letters. No longer, do I need to install it on every computer in my office. The staff that responds to emails is helpful as well. My customer experience is top-notch. I can provide my team with training and understanding of the software. You can implement new updates without much headache. We use the contact area for ongoing use as well. The frequency of use used to be during tax season but now we use it throughout the year. We have an ease of integration to other verticals of our business. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** The thing I dislike is that I cannot white label or brand it to my needs. I had done a couple of returns during a demo but really did not know anything about the software. I did a quick training session over Zoom and I was off and running. Even being a novice at the software I was able to compelte most returns quickly and easily. Whenever I had an issue finding something or something not working the way I thought it should I was able to chat with Tech Support and get the issue handled, usually on the spot. I use ProConnect every day since switching and I now feel very comfortable with the software. The software is powerful enough to handle every situation that I throw at it. With a direct import feature to QuickBooks Online I am able to save a tremendous amount of time in getting financial entered into returns. **What do you dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax?** The biggest downside of ProConnect is paying for each return. I buy a block of returns to start the year but since there are no refunds I buy as few as I can to receive the discounts I am eligible for, and then buy a few at a time over the rest of the year to ensure I have no credits left on 12/31.
