## Internal Reviews
  ### 1. A User Friendly Solution, for Streamlining Business Development!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhiren G. | Marketing and events manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Internal?**

I enjoy using this product. The dashboards security features ensure that our operations remain secure. It offers stability although making testing changes can sometimes be a bit challenging. All its a reliable tool.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

The setup process can be intricate. May require some knowledge of your database, which could pose a hurdle for certain users. Additionally as someone without a development background I find it challenging to leverage the apps capabilities and get the most out of it.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal has revolutionized communication within our team. It is incredibly user friendly and highly effective in keeping us organized. Its ease of use has significantly improved our collaboration and productivity resulting in enhanced outcomes, for our business.

  ### 2. Internal Honest Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Internal?**

It saves a lot of time as this is very user-friendly, it has regular updates on the features, and the formula and functions are very understandable. It helps to improve business development for a successful operation and very easy to understand who is new.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

The process sometimes takes time to get processed and is quite slow I can say, they should improve in their suggestion, otherwise, I really like this product for sure.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is no code development process, internal makes it easy for us to make changes on the backend, and very fun way to quickly build apps, so yes this is a very beneficial app for us.

  ### 3. Legacy data visualization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Internal?**

It has regular updates on the features to let user improve their instance. The function and formula are low code based. It utilizes SQL to generate a result set. The

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

A lack of color schemas can be chosen. Not enough notification when the UI was updated.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use case was to build a UI interface allowing users to access the information to a back-end legacy database. Then generate different reports and allow end-users to search for specific records.

  ### 4. Great WYSIWYG Form App

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** C B. | Biz Marquis, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

Create forms, collect and display data with little-to-no programming. Internal allows for some complex rule and behavior definitions to dial in the experience. Their customer service is also second-to-none and the product is updated all the time.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

I started using internal during its beta phase and initially making changes to complex forms could be cumbersome. They've come a long way since then.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal allows complex data capture and display to an external data source within very little up-front cost or prep-work. I get a dialed-in web form experience with internal, without having to slog through lots of programming. I tried creating my own web forms with bootstrap before finding internal and that was proving to be a nightmare.

Internal really filled a niche for me as someone who is web design, information architecture and simple database savvy but not particularly strong as a programmer.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 7. Fast and easy interface for business operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric D. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

Internal makes it easy to quickly build out dashboards and customer support functionality. The interface is extremely intuitive which makes it convenient to collaborate between product, engineering, and support to tune the functionality as needed for any workflow. The fine-grained permissions provide excellent security around sensitive functions and data, and the ability to easily stack functions together makes it possible to perform complex actions hidden behind a very simple interface. On the whole, it saves us a bunch of development time by having a stable, plug-n-play interface with massive backend extensibility.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

Internal has some security features that keep the dashboard functionality safe, for example only pulling database schemas from production. This is great for stability but it can sometimes make it difficult to test changes in lower environments before underlying schema changes have propagated to production.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Internal for two purposes: 1. as an admin portal which is the primary interface for support to service customer requests, and 2. as a reporting interface for real-time aggregates of cross-sections of our user base. The main benefit is the speed of iteration. When a request comes in from the biz dev team or the support team, we can sometimes address it the same day, or at worst it requires a small addition to our internal API that we access via Internal. Knowing that it will integrate seamlessly with our existing operations is really nice peace of mind.

  ### 8. Freed tons of engineering hours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina R. | Co-founder and COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

Internal freed up hours and hours of engineering time from building internal-facing tools! As a nonprofit working with other nonprofits and donors, we have a lot of internal processes that require internal tools. Through the tools we built on Internal, we're now able to respond more quickly to support requests. Plus, we can distribute the work to non-engineers in our small team, since the no-code interface allows them to make adjustments too.

It's also very flexible — we've integrated our database, API, and Sendgrid so far to connect a few disjoint workflows that now can be done in a single click of a button. The security access controls allow us to correctly permission access to information.

The Internal team is also super responsive to feedback and any bug reports. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

Sometimes the layout of the dashboard doesn't adjust super nicely to different screen sizes, but some of our tables are quite dense so I'm not sure it would look.

**Recommendations to others considering Internal:**

Depending on your needs, setup may require technical knowledge of your database. Check their docs!

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to build internal-facing tools to support nonprofit admins, donors, and operations to provide timely support. By now, we've probably saved over a hundred hours of engineering time it would have taken to build out the tools ourselves, not counting debugging or maintaining the tools.

  ### 9. Internal works excellent as a backend tool for our ocean monitoring organization, Aqualink.org.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caesar H. | Community manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

Internal makes it easy for me as an employee to edit simple backend changes to the accounts on our website.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

I wish I could see all owners of an account when pulling up the information. Now I can only see one owner. This would be helpful when I need to reach out to the account holder.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm only a community manager and not a developer. I can make changes of the accounts and see additional information even though I don't have any developer skills.

  ### 10. Internal is great for its speed in prototyping and iterating!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AJ A. | Staff Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

My favorite part of Internal is how quickly I'm able to prototype and iterate.

I've built many dashboards in the past so I thought I wouldn't like this product but after using it for five months, I get it and I prefer Internal.

There are restrictions with Internal because you only get the pre-built components but actually, I think that's a strength! It just forces you to think a little outside the box at first.

We have a rails backend with a PostgreSQL DB. My favorite way to use Internal is to read all data directly from the database and then make API endpoints to make changes to the data. That way it's super quick to generate a new page with the data I need. We don't have GraphQL so it's nice to be able to write a SQL query to get all the data I need for a page. We then use API endpoints so that we're still leveraging all the business logic coded into our backend.

Also my Product Teammate also really likes how easy it is to set up role access control for everything in Internal. We can lock down specific pages, functions (which is how you get or set data), and even specific attributes of each function.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

Explaining to my teammates, "you can't do this or that in internal," specifically members of Product or Design who haven't taken the time to play around with internal. These teammates are expecting a very specific UX that can't be done. It doesn't mean that the action/feature can't be done but it means that we have to change your specific UX expectations.

I think the whole point of internal is the tradeoff of UX and speed and consistency. I love the speed of Internal and the UX tradeoff is not a dealbreaker for me. It just takes a little bit of playing around to find the UX design patterns that work for you.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're rebuilding our admin software for our CX, Business, and Operations teams. We used to use rails Administrate but we're in the process of phasing that out in favor of Internal.

  ### 11. Internal.io is a must try

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Internal?**

The User Interface and the feature it packs especially the quick and fun way of quickly building apps

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

Some features might be redundant and could be improved greatly like the layout of the workspace section.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For in-house order tracking and follow-up spreadsheets, the permission/access controls are a real help!

  ### 12. Internal is easy to use and efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lily B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Internal?**

Internal allows all of your data sources to be combined into one workspace without having to get an analyst or engineer involved. It is user friendly and easy to create workflows, user permissions/restrictions, and various helpful features such as buttons, surveys, and filters.

**What do you dislike about Internal?**

The layout of the workspace is not as pretty as it could be for the end-user... yet!

**Recommendations to others considering Internal:**

If you are looking for reliable and easy software to master to ensure all of your data is in one spot, this is the company you should consider using. I know that while the product is great now, their team is doing an amazing job to make things even easier for the user and end-user.

**What problems is Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Internal to avoid having everything in Google Sheets, as well as to create custom permissions sheets and excel will not allow. It also helped me create an easy workflow for users in my workspace to utilize.
