What do you like best about Interbase?

I don`t know the way how to initialize DB instance via config file. Like tnsnames.ora in pl\sql developer or toad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Interbase?

Robustness, its safe. As no direct button is there for db maintenance operation, by using query or syntax, we have remembered al. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Interbase?

Most mathematical operations don't support.

Rebuilding of index takes a lot of time.

Big size.

When records get deleted, size doesn't reduce, we have to extra operation like back and restore to resize the db. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Interbase:

No i won't recommend as we are having oracle db, sql db and we are having storage in cloud. I don't recommend Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Interbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its a very old db. Compares to modern structure i don't see any benifits Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Interbase?

The third-party tool called IBExpert. Other things was the same to me in comparison with common SQL database Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Interbase?

I can't say that I dislike something. Interbase was quite sufficient for my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Interbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used Interbase as a DBMS for SCADA system. The output of SCADA system was a functional software used in nuclear and heat energetic areas.

It means that we stored all the information regarding the control system (mainly signals) using Interbase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Interbase is not too popular in a developer's community, however, I think that in a lot of situations it can be better than MySql. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Interbase?

Easy installation, small size, have a good performance, no need a lot PC resources Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Interbase?

Has very small set of built in service functions and procedures, opposite MSSql or Oracle, so language of stored procedures and triggers is poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
