I love that Instrumentl is always looking for grants for us. With other databases, you have to constantly hunt. Instrumentl makes it so easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found anything yet. It's a little pricey, but well worth it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to research opportunities with ease and have nearly all the necessary information to assess a good funding fit displayed right there in easy-to-analyze formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything works as well as i could expect. Admittedly, there are some funders I would like more information on, but I imagine if it were readily available, Instrumentl would have it. So I can't exactly fault the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that all the grants are in one place, before getting my membership I was looking at 7 different sites to find grants. Instrumental does a great job recommending grants that fit. The part to type notes to team members and mark what you have done is very helpful for communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did not find any downfalls. It has been really helpful and I have shared it to everyone. Anytime I have had any human error or questions Instrumental has been very easy to connect with- fast responses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The weekly notice of new grant applications that are available has been very helpful... and we have already found a couple of new funders. The weekly notice of impending application deadlines has also been a blessing and kept me on task and on time with submittals. I also appreciate notice when funders change their submittal deadlines. Overall great tool - just one hiccup since we began subscribing. Not all funding organizations flag when deadlines change. For example in 2021 - we missed out on a grant we repeatedly apply for and receive that is managed by Wells Fargo Philanthropic Services (Albert and Mary Dick Trust). There might not be anything Instrumentl's AI or algorithms can do about such situations, but since you asked for possible improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love using the Instrumentl, it's been such a time-saver and what we've already landed in grants has made the money spent on our subscription well worth it. Grant prospecting used to take me hours and nothing is worse than feeling like you sending grant applications out into the void. This platform gives you key details to hone in on the grants most suited to your mission, areas of service, and organization goals. One of the things I like best is being able to quickly see where a funder focuses their grants (new grantees, arts & education, etc). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When first getting set up in the platform it can feel overwhelming to suddenly see 300+ grants available with deadlines to apply looming. I dislike overwhelm and the accompanying analysis paralysis it can bring. Instrumentl really understands how the grant process can create that feeling and as a subscriber you get access to demos, weekly meet-ups, and personalized support. I highly recommend taking time to meet with an Instrumentl team member. They walk through your results and basically train you on using the tools effectively while also helping you hone in on the next steps in your personalized dashboard. New funding opportunities are sent regularly and easy access to data on funding awards and past grantees is most helpful. This is the best funder search I have ever used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The value for the product is very good but the cost can be prohibitive to smaller organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We love the ease of finding grant matches, the way you can see different views on the dashboard, track the status and history of grants, and see multiple types of data for funders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish we could insert customizable fields for grant opportunities. For example, we would like to be able to create a field that shows the program we intend to fund, contact person, and a field for a probability rating that we assign to prospects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Instrumentl is a much more intuitive foundation/grants database than any of the more traditional, longstanding databases I've used. Excellent customer service too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface takes a little getting used to but no major dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the research abilities and the ability to track tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some small features are still needed, such as easily pulling up task completion information in a report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Instrumentl is a grant research goldmine. Being able to research, plan, and track grant opportunities in one place is such a time-saving asset. The system is extremely user-friendly and the reminders/alerts are great. I subscribed halfway through my demo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not found any downsides to using Instrumentl. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
