We've been using Insightful for our remote and hybrid teams, and it's been a great addition to our operations. The platform is intuitive, reliable, and gives us clear visibility into productivity trends without being invasive. The time tracking and idle time features help ensure accuracy and accountability while still respecting employee autonomy.

From an administrative perspective, setup was straightforward, and the dashboard makes it easy to manage teams and generate reports. It's also one of the most competitively priced solutions on the market—offering excellent value without compromising on features.

What I like best about Insightful is its ability to provide clear, real-time visibility into employee productivity without being intrusive. It’s a powerful tool for driving accountability while fostering transparency and efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

One area where Insightful could improve is in its handling of nuanced or context-specific activities. While it does a good job categorizing active vs. idle time, it sometimes struggles to differentiate between productive but passive tasks—like watching a training video or reviewing documentation—and actual inactivity. Additionally, the interface could benefit from more customization options for reporting views and user roles. Finally, occasional sync issues or lag in real-time updates can slightly impact time-sensitive monitoring. Despite these, the tool remains highly effective overall. We are using the tool on Daily  basis. ITs very easy to implement on any machine. Although the customer support availability is not much helpful because of time zone.

The manual time logging feature is especially helpful for tracking tasks not done on a computer—like meetings, calls, or off-site work. Complete data to be exported in excel, full visibility of remote activities, screenshots are super helpful in order to provide a necessary callout, how much time you are in a specific task/program is helpful too.

Some features might be down or under maintenance and we´ll know until we attempt to use them, like "Time and Attendance" download, that´ll be fixed in 2 weeks and Payroll is due in 5 days. Support helped me out but it would be nice to get a headsup.

I’ve had an excellent experience with Insightful (formerly known as Workpuls). Their platform is incredibly convenient for remote workers, offering accurate tracking of hours worked and productivity monitoring. It’s trustworthy and ensures that you have clear visibility into your weekly work hours, which is invaluable for staying organized and efficient.

What truly stands out is their exceptional customer support. Whenever I encountered a technical issue, their team was quick to assist and resolve it. They’re also highly receptive to feedback, demonstrating a genuine commitment to continuously improving their product and services.

If you’re looking for a dependable, user-friendly solution for remote work management, Insightful is a fantastic choice. Their dedication to providing an accurate and seamless experience sets them apart!

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

The only drawback for me is that the platform is currently only available for use on a desktop. I would love to see a mobile-friendly option in the future, allowing users to clock in and manage their work from a cell phone as sometimes our work is on the road and we don't have access to our computers. Expanding this feature would make it even more versatile and accessible for different avenues of work. The way we nagivate around this currently is with a manual clock-in to our administator. 

Overall, it’s a reliable and effective tool that I highly recommend, with great potential for even further enhancements!

Extremely easy to use software. I recently started using it and it was a transparent and smooth setup on both sides. 
The online chat also responded quickly and gave me answers to my questions. I have seen that the basic package ( which is plenty enough with number of feratures) but can be upgraded with additional features at a reasonable price, so I don't have to buy a larger package immediately, which is cost effective. I like that it has auto-detected features like rest time and you don't have to pay extra attention to set it up.
Overall, it is a user friendly, cost effective software.

I have not experienced it so far, it works as I expected.

I have a remote colleague whose work I follow. The software is very user-friendly, so I can easily follow the workflows he is doing.

**What do you like best about Insightful?**

We start researching about Insightful at the end of September 2024, after looking for similar solutions such as HubStaff, Time Doctor, Mera Monitor, etc. We're starting Insightful's one-week trial at the last week of October. Between these time, we're preparing the trial rollout and actively consulting with the salesperson to make sure we can utilize the trial the most. Currently we're at the phase of one-month subscription review and we plan to jump to annual subscription. I (as admin) use Insightful everyday to track staff attendance, each team's productivity, and mostly used productive & unproductive app. Turns out we use Ms. Teams the most, averaging 1 hour and 40 mins per staff each day.

Insightful makes productivity reporting made simple for our company (we are a startup of 10-15 staff, which the majority works remotely). We can know each staff work time, productive and unproductive time, how much application usage within each team and project, and through timeline view we can know what each staff throughout the day are active at. We can compare productivity trends data using custom day range. I much prefer their data visuals comparing to other similar apps.

Insightful also fulfills our requirement in terms of staff accountability. Managers can know whether each staff are working on the tasks they are claiming using each staff's captured screenshots. This is a top requirement for us. For our managers, Insightful can become a tool to check whether someone is currently online right now using real-time insights tab.

Implementing Insightful is also quick in my experience. Within their trial period of a week, all our staff are able to use and track their time on Insightful's desktop app.

Their CS also quickly answers my queries and solve my problems. During onboarding time, the salesperson always answer my questions and we can also meet on video calls when requested.

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

None for the dislike so far. Feature requests from us are to have our tasks and projects on Monday.com directly integrated with Insightful and a mobile app to track time since some staff are working on the road and using their tablet devices.

We are searching for an app that can both capture staff productivity (how time is being spent) and identify areas of improvement; and proof-of-accountability tool to capture screenshots making sure each staff are working on the tasks they're claming to work on.

2. Managers can use real-time insights tab to check if staff are currently online, which helps in managing team communication.

**What do you like best about Insightful?**

What I really like about Insightful is how I am able to easily set up applications or websites that should be tracked as productive, and flag others as not productive. Also, Insightful enables me to set up alerts for any suspicion website or app that is against my company's policy. Their customer support are always on standby and ready, in just a few minutes to pick up and help resolve complaints or issues.

My company uses Insightful everyday for monitoring and productivity purposes. And it is very easy to use. Speaking of Integration, my company requested that Insightful also add ClickUp to part of the apps that can be integrated on Insightful, and they did, in no time.

So far, Insightful has been fast, efficient, and stable. The implementation process works as expected.

As someone who works in the tech space, I can say that Insightful is very user-friendly.

The instructions for install onto client computers is clear and easy.  Control from admin account is straight-forward.  We are developing our own content categories, as we are using for a research project; the interface to do so is quite easy to use.  We will update this set of comments later if possible, as we will use this for some time.  Our rep hase been *highly* responsive (over email) to requests for instruction/update, and has done zoom-call instruction sessions several times.

None so far; we do not have a lot of experience down-loading data or analyzing it yet.

**What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Note re above:  We are actually using Insightful to compile a database of what users do on the internet over a period of several weeks per user, so "research" is the best response.  The biggest advantage of Insightful beyond the ease of use is the fact that its available for both Windows and Mac (and it really is; we are using on both platforms).  Also, the price per user is quite low.

When I have a question the customer support chat is quick and easy. I utilize the software daily to review my team's productivity. I was not on the implementation team or integration team so I cannot speak to how easily it was adopted by our organization.

easy to use and great support from customer service in addition to having a lot of options to modify and make the product adapt to your needs. my experience of insightful especially using the time tracker bundle is amazing so far and my organization is having a 40% increase in productivity because I'm having more time to focus and scalability and less time on managing the staff. basically, you can see what your employees are doing any time in real-time and it's great. also, installation is easy and detailed, none of my employees faced an issue with installing the software and they can clock in and out whenever they want ensuring work flexibility.

the only thing I dislike is that they don't have a mobile application that I can manage my employees but their website is pretty much responsive

I appreciate the interactive and helpful customer service; there is always someone to help with our issues. The admin console is user-friendly, bright and colourful - it's not too difficult to find what you need. We also appreciate the teams structure, as it helps us to track productivity across departments. Lastly, the statistics and metrics used across the different tabs help us to make better reports for our employees and projects.

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

We believe that the response time for customer queries could be faster, due to the urgent business needs. Moreover, we are a business with employees who constantly come and go - currently, Insightful does not reactivate deactivated accounts until 7 days after original deactivation, and that is a challenge for us. Finally, we believe that the locations feature could be improved on, or provide more detailed documentation, as we've had several roadbumps with this feature in the past.

The problems could be listed as slacking on the job, being unproductive, or just idling during work time. We hire a great deal of remote workers for our company, Red Wireless, and Insightful helps us with Workplace Integrity. It helps us to ensure that work is being done properly, well and on time. We use Insightful to track productivity and task completion in projects; it does a great job at handling both for us currently. We also use it inside our office locations, as it helps us to monitor the overall productivity across all our employees and departments.

My entire workforce works remotely and before Insightful I was struggling to get the details on what my employees working on, where exactly are they spending all their time and effort and how can I make them more productive than they already are. It's very easy to use, Implement, and integrate with other reporting apps through query. 

I love the screenshot feature which allows me to see and ensure that my data is secure and it's not going outside our Org and what's the frequency of their uses on each app/website.

The productivity dashboard is pretty amazing where I can see who was productive, absent, or sitting idle for how many hours. If we get stuck along the way customer support is already there.

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

I don't have any significant dislikes about Insightful. It's a valuable tool for our company and helps us monitor and enhance our remote workforce effectively. I just wish it could have more integrations features which allows me to other apps like Slack or Teams.

As I mentioned earlier, it helped us identify the best productive employees and who is sitting idle in our company. It helps our management to make decisions on productivity and other decisions related to employee retention and turnover.

Insightful is invaluable for our capacity planning and reviewing our app stack. We can see what apps staff use and for how long, we can make informed decisions when trialling new software to see if it's saving us time and thus money!!

**What do you dislike about Insightful?**

I would love to see productivity calculations determined on a team or employee scale rather than a company wide one. Productivity metrics are somewhat different between our UK team and overseas team and it would be good to measure productivity differently in both cases.

As a growing business capacity planning and recruitment is a big (and expensive) issue to tackle. We don't want to recruit too late (which we have done) and likewise we don't want to recruit too soon. Insightful allows us to analyse how staff spend their time from which we can make decision on how to recruit, or implement tech to reduce certain work burdens on staff.
