Top Rated Inprotech Alternatives
No matter how complex a business problem you are trying to solve to ensure things happen automatically in line with internal and external client needs on their IP Cases, there is always a way to achieve this using Inprotech. It's the most flexible system I've ever worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's great for users who need to do a deep dive into case details and come with knowledge for where to find things in the system, but for new or infrequent users, the amount of information can be overwhelming. Would be good if there was an "Inprotech Light" option for users that just need a high level overview. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Inprotech is a very configurable system providing huge power and flexibility to us as an IP law firm in managing our cases. Laws for different countries and property types (patents, trademarks, designs, etc.) can be set up catering for all needs. Also changes in laws can be made with specific start dates and the ability to recalculate the dates are affected by the new laws.
The time recording functionality has received a revamp in recent years and works really well alongside the billing modules.
There are also modules for importing new case data into the system from a spreadsheet as well as the ability to download and compare data from public IP databases (EPO, US TSDR, Clarivate IPOneData) and compare the bibliographical data with that in your system in order to identify errors.
The support is usually quite quick to respond to calls and there is also the ability to see what the development teams are working on - a very transparent environment.
The system runs on a SQL Server RDBMS and as such *your* data is open and available to you for further integration (and transfer) into other systems. A fairly well documented database schema is also available.
There is a site available with lots of documentation and demonstration videos.
The very best thing about Inprotech though is the active user community; You might make friends for life, let alone the technical and emotional support you'll get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system comes with a long history and has gone through several technological changes; It is rather slow going getting everything onto the most modern Web technology, but what we have seen so far looks promising.
It is a complicated system to set up, configure, maintain and upgrade and for a larger firm you'll probably need permanent staff to do these tasks. Fortunately, there are also excellent consultants available who can assist with these on a non-full time basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I appreciate how Inprotech allows law firms to customize the user experience to meet the needs of diverse clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to customize the software can make it a bit more challenging to learn from an administrator perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being in control of our own workflows. IP can be complex and it’s vital that our systems can be built to cover this complexity. Also having the ability to extract any type of information from the tables and deliver it into different areas of our business (Microsoft products and injecting data into other in-house software we use)
CPASS have been very good over the years at listening (via our user groups) and making improvements to the product and hopefully this mode of communication and subsequent alterations to Inprotech will continue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like other firms we are still using the now quite aged 'client server' version of Inprotech and we need to begin to get all of our users onto the Web version. This decision though is being held back due to reports that records users find the web version difficult to key in data quickly. It might look nicer; but we need confidence that the product is quick and easy for our data input teams to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flexibility of being able to input any type of data we want and the reliability of the rules engine to consistently produce accurately calculated deadlines. This information can then be passed into our other systems including our Accounting and Document Management software. We also use the information in Inprotech to auto populate our letter and email templates which is a huge time saver!
Software developers from CPA also regularly attend our quarterly User Group (IEUG) meetings and listen to our requests for improvements or modifications, which helps ensure the product develops the direction we need it to go for our industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It could look a little more aesthetically pleasing, but what it lacks in beauty it makes up for in functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the options Inprotech avails. Case import, monthly law updates, friendly support staff Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Difficulty in bringing in law updates. Would like it to be easier to understand the release notes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the way the system is integral and clear. Easy to use although the type of law that it reflected was very complex (IP). Also, it is a very detailed system that keeps up with the evolution of the regulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The issuing of reports can be challenging at times as well as moving documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
