What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

Ingrid cloud is super easy to use and incredibly fast! The meshing of the model is completely automated and you're not required to tweak anything but select your desired level of accuracy (paying accordingly). As soon as the simulation is converged, you get an email alert so you can give a look at results directly on the website or download raw data in a format that is compatible with Paraview. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

You do not really know how the model is parameterized as well as you have very limited possibility of setting it (at least for now, as they are evolving very fast). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

It can really boost your daily activities with a great value for money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

The programme allows smooth import of models from several CAD software (more types coming). Input of wind data and model orientation is simple, and it is thus quick to start a simulation. The computing time is short, even for big models, thanks to cloud computing. E-mail alert when finished. Output is illustrative, and useful for presentations to laymen customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

The output is shown for 4 levels, but only in X/Y plane, which makes 3D analysis difficult. I also miss a simple cost-free model test before starting the simulations, and an estimate or progress bar. Currently (expected development?): no indication of turbulence, limited options for direction arrows, and no/limited possibilities to pick X/Y/Z planes or 3D-views for output. Recommendations to others considering Ingrid Cloud:

Try the demo and the free first simulation! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Urban climate studies. Wind problems are well recognized in high-dense planning, and may be quickly addressed through IngridCloud (though not a complete thermal comfort analysis). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

Very simple and intuitive UI, with lots aesthetic layout and logical structuring of functionality placement. Gives a lot of relevant information about key parameters of the object entered into the virtual wind tunnel with easy to understand graphs of force variation with time. The video visualisations are also very helpful in understanding the key flow structure of the aircraft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

Lack of information about the "magic" happening behind the scenes. Would like to have (the option to show) a more detailed overview of how the mesh is generated, the choice of solver used, temporal and spatial discretisation and generally more advanced information about the underlying principles of how the simulator gets from my .stl to its results. Would also like to have modules to incorporate propeller dynamics and tandem wing interactions with specific coefficients of drag and lift calculated using a user selected surface area. I would also like to know what Reynold's number the simulation assumes and what characteristic lengths/areas are used to calculate non-dimensional coefficients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Ingrid Cloud:

Definitely give Ingrid Cloud a chance to blow your mind. This is a service providing CFD at the touch of a button, like we have gotten used to with much else in a digital world. They still have some growing aches as a newcomer in the game, especially with allowing some more user customisation and providing the user with more background data, but definitely worth it! As a student, I will refrain from commenting on the price, as I have only used the free tokens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using it as a baseline comparison tool to estimate C_D0 of a 4PAX, eVTOL aircraft fuselage designed as part of a 3rd year group design project (GDP) that is part of the 4YR MEng degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

- Minimum input fields for setting up the problem

- No time spent on the CAD cleanup and meshing (not worried about the mesh quality for the first time!)

- No need of CFD knowledge to run the simulation

- Just the right contours without spending time in post-processing

- Availability of raw CFD data for further investigation

- Everything after CAD export can be done on a basic smart phone!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

- Need exactly 30 tokens for trial, 5 for the 'sketch' run and 25 for the refined run. This would give users an understanding of what accuracy level they need

- Time stamps need to be in user's time zones!

- I set my CAD orientation incorrect and I am an experienced CFD user. A non-CFD would need better visualization so that the orientation is set properly

- A mobile app would be great to have for Ingrid! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

The UX. I am personaly developing GUIs and API for complex CFD codes. Its hard to get rid of the suprious complexity, but this is nice. Even the registration and the "pay per simulation" token system are instantly understandable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

There is no ETA of hint about the time one should wait , even for a low-res simulation, I though of something frozen inside. There is no clear description of the numerical approach and the model. It is hard to rate the service when you come with an academical or a CFD specialist background.

This would need more complex setups options (several inlets, reactions, two phase flow) to replace my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Ingrid Cloud:

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being a CFD researcher, and in a way a software editor, I am observing the trends on UX for scientific software, especially CFD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ingrid Cloud?

The GUI is very easy, also the workflow and the information a non specialist for CFD get. The import with STL works great, the PrePost and setup is clear and the in every step the user know what happens. The informations you get about the Status the simulation is also very easy and clear. At the when the simulation is running you could close the window. After finishing the simulation you get a E-Mail that results could be viewed. Overall very I think it's good. The costs of toke I does not really understand. One package or one toke cost 9,75.-$? This need to clear before someone like to start with it. I only use the 25 free token. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ingrid Cloud?

As specialist I miss detailed informations as the used solver Technology (I think it's a Finite Volume Methode), the mesh and how the solver get it (defined fix mesh at beginning with boundary layer etc. or adaptive meshing with gradient based meshing). Also some informations as for example Reynoldsnumber etc. I don't see to check if the results are laminar or turbulent. I think this could improved, but in general this are points only a user who is a CAE engineer like to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Ingrid Cloud:

Try it, I think for much usecases in industry and civil engineering it could be interst. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ingrid Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

I only get the link from a collegue and like to check this cloud computing Plattform. Due to the fact that I work as CAE engineer I use highend Tools and in future also use this. But it's interest to see and Keep informed whats possible and going in the cloud computing Scene. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
