  ### 1. All-in-One Integrated Platform That’s Easy to Customize

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

It's an all in one website, member database and event system that is totally integrated. If you have the understanding of basic HTML and/or SQL it is also easy to manipulate the data on the website or within the database saving a lot of time. If you don't understand this, it is easy to pick up with a bit of training too.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

The advanced marketing module doesn't allow a preset time to send bulk emails.  Someone physically has to push a button to send an email at a certain time. 

iMIS online support is great but there should be a phone option for when someone wants to actually talk an issue through quickly.  Going backward and forwards via email slows down the help when things go wrong.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

iMIS has allows us to bring all elements of member experience into the one platform including our member video library, article library, event registration and website.  This was the largest improvement to our system.  It also has improved our member journey through the ability to set up automated communications at join date, six weeks and six months which we could not do automatically in our older system. We can also place personalised alerts against member profiles for ease of meaningful communication when a member calls. This means we can prompt conversation more readily knowing that each alert shows us what the member has been involved in at our association and thank them for that involvement

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

I like the upgrades that have happened, and the ease in which it can integrate with other services such as MailChimp and GoCardless etc, and stores very important information and allows MFA set up for when you are trying to set up Cyber essentials for your company. 

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

The only downside at the moment, which may be more reflective of the times that we are in, is the costs. It is quite expensive.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping the organisation approach and have easier methods of running reports and sending emails to external bodies and sources, which has made life a lot easier for people at work. It also helps provide general EDI reports and annual reports for every team at the college.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

I like the ability for our systems to be integrated through IMIS, including our website and accessiBe feature, CRM, learning platform and app - which allows us to offer single sign on for members, tailored content and platforms and, if needed, custom solutions that bring our ideas into tangible form. 

What's also helpful is the ability for us to gain insight into our members and contacts via IMIS queries. This ensures we have access to data on membership, unique profile attributes (such as profession or location), income and more, supporting our understanding of how we're tracking as a professional association, who we can tailor our communications to through IMIS and where our future opportunities lie.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

The least helpful aspects of using IMIS I've found are: 

1. Having to use a fresh email template each time I prepare a communication, rather than being able to use a previously sent email and have it received by recipients without formatting issues. (This is very time consuming if we want to simply adjust the content of a previously sent email for our next communication.)

2. The complexity of IQAs - while they're fabulous for tailored searches, offering insights and giving us a custom audience to send emails to, the complexity and miriad of ways to put the IQAs together is quite overwhelming when trying to develop a good understanding and be able to use them with proficiency. 

3. When a website content item is updated and published, having to click refresh multiple times so the item publishes fully is frustrating. It would be great if clicking 'save and publish' made the item automatically publish then and there.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. IMIS is helping us solve a problem we had with our first website, which unfortunately wasn't very user friendly in its layout and lacked a quality feel. With our new IMIS website (that we worked on with a different IMIS consultant), we're now proud to show off our refreshed digital home and welcome all the members, clients and visitors to access the information and services they need. 

2. Through an integration with Higher Logic, IMIS has helped us to deliver a new learning and community platform to our members where our dedicated education programs and specialised communities can be accessed. This gives them a better experience for their professional development and a place for them to interact and connect with each other on the specialist topics in oral health they've chosen to take part in.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

I really like the report section of iMIS. It's very detailed in how it can be run and edited. I also like the user profile sections and the security settings, which help in resetting usernames or passwords.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

I think the Rise section could be a little bit more user-friendly. Building IQAs is very difficult, and changing things with the page builder is sometimes really complicated. There could be more user-friendly aspects. The initial setup was pretty intense and difficult, taking several months for data migration.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iMIS to maintain an accurate membership database, track expenses related to membership and event registration, and pull detailed reports.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

iMIS accommodates complex billing structures better than any other system I have encountered. AutoPay is now built-in, and dues collection is becoming easier and easier. Recent improvements to database make working in iMIS faster and more efficient. Customer Support is also quite good.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

Still a long and steep learning curve to handle the inevitable exceptions to anything that is not simple.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting our dues billing and collections right is always a challenge when there are so many permutations for member types, categories, chapters, and voluntary donations. iMIS accommodates them all, giving me confidence that our members are billed correctly and the accounting is clean. Communications with members is also accommodated cleanly and efficiently.

iMIS has proven to be an invaluable asset for our organization, specifically in maintaining a highly organized and efficient member database. Its robust features have streamlined several of our core operations:

Event Management: We rely on iMIS to manage everything from small local gatherings to large-scale national conventions and conferences.

Fundraising and Donations: The platform provides a seamless way for our members to contribute to various charitable organizations directly through the system.

Database Integrity: It excels at keeping our member records clean and easily accessible, which is vital for our daily workflows.

While the platform is excellent, we have found that system upgrades sometimes take longer than expected.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

I really appreciate how iMIS has evolved into a true one-stop shop. The integrations have helped our organization plan thoughtfully for the future and focus on the User Experience needed to build a meaningful membership. The support has been incredible, and the responses are consistently timely.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

One area where there can be a slower learning curve is understanding how to build custom reports. It’s a process, and it isn’t always clear from the outset how everything fits together. I’d definitely recommend getting support while you’re building those reports.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Membership data trends. Once we started cleaning up the data after earlier mismanagement, the membership trends became much clearer. That clarity helped the organization set an initial strategy to address the issue.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

I like that iMIS is customizable and flexible, allowing us to change the naming of modules, create custom workflows, and automate processes. The software's power in terms of integrations and add-ons is a significant advantage, especially if a feature isn't a core feature out-of-the-box. This flexibility lets iMIS match our business rules rather than forcing us to adapt to it. It's our one source of truth, handling data efficiently, keeping it organized and clean, and giving us a holistic view of our member organizations and their related employees.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

The technical understanding of iMIS can be a bit challenging. With all the flexibility and comprehensive features it offers, there's a lot to learn, especially if you don't use the system in its default state. Customizing it and creating custom workflows can feel taxing just to achieve a simple process automation. A lot of HTML/CSS/SQL knowledge is required for RiSE, Process automation, and IQA query creation.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iMIS for handling and organizing data, offering a holistic view of our member organizations and employees. It's our one source of truth, customizable, flexible, and powerful with integrations, allowing us to match it to our business rules.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

The process automations are helpful and make things run more smoothly. It’s easy to navigate, and overall it’s best suited for membership needs.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

There’s no backend SQL database access in the new cloud version.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can avoid a lot of manual steps, and the events and other modules are well integrated, which makes the overall workflow smoother.

**What do you like best about iMIS?**

The IQA system and panel creation features, along with the excellent Form Builder tool, really stand out. iMIS makes it much easier to create IQAs, extract information, and generate reports compared to other systems I have used. The user-friendly front-end designer and tools are also easy to navigate. Implementing new features is practical, and the customer support is excellent.

**What do you dislike about iMIS?**

There's a lot of things that would be great to have, without having to purchase extra services or integrations. Another thing that stands out, would be to be able to delete questions from events, that way if your copying an event from a prior year, you can just delete the questiosn that you don't need, and leave the ones that you do.

**What problems is iMIS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Warehousing sounds like something we could use once it's available. I'm not sure if for the 2026 or 2027 year, but definetely would be worth to take a look at it at some point.
