Ideawake has been a critial piece of our innovation platform here at UW-Stout. The platform itself is very user friendly and easy to pickup. But, the staff have really been exceptional to work with. There honestly isn't too much I don't like. If I had to pick something it would be that at first glance the software has a lot of different features which can feel overwhelming at first. Ideawake doeas a great job of promoting an employess idea program. We were seeking a solution to do exactly that. It's very important to the cutlure of our organization that we get ideas and solutions to everyday probelms directly from people doing the work. I found ideawake very easy to use when creating a project plan and was efficient in saving time where the template was ready to be completed.

The most significant piece that our team likes about Ideawake is its high degree of customization (supported on very tight turnaround times by its product team), that enables very targeted idea challenges so staff know what to expect of the experience and what to expect as outcomes for their interaction and ideas. Ideawake is rapidly improving. So there are some minor features that will be very useful for large scale idea management that are getting built in every day. Ideawake is EASY to navigate. The tool is broken up into 4 simple system roles with different privileges across those roles. When it comes to idea management, it has the right objects in place to take an idea from submission to execution. We used Ideawake to support a pretty large and well-established innovation lab at an enterprise-sized government agency. They had a robust process and Ideawake was able to help support/replicate it. While configuration activities are simple to conduct by someone new to the system, its simplicity can sometimes come at the cost of full-on customization. We had to make some compromises in how we stood up the system to make sure it mimicked our existing idea management process correctly. Additionally, we have found multiple bugs throughout the system. Nothing that is detrimental to our operation or use of the system, but more so with cosmetics and buttons not working / things not showing up on users' screens. The Ideawake team is very responsive and quick to get developers to look into these bugs though. I suppose these are paint points of a younger software company with a newer tool on the market. There have been a few random capabilities that we as a company, waned to be able to do right out of the gate that we have not been able to do. But it seems like we are the only ones asking for these specific requests, and Hanna has already pushed these requests to her development team, an they are working on a solution for us.
