Ideagen CompliSpace provides a centralised platform that makes managing policies, compliance obligations, and risk registers far more structured and efficient. We have been using it for over 8 years. One of the things I love most about CompliSpace is that it’s clearly been built with schools in mind. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all corporate system that’s been awkwardly retro-fitted to suit education. It understands the complexities of school environments—multiple stakeholders, duty of care responsibilities, ever-changing legislation, and the balance between operational demands and educational outcomes.

Everything from the language used to the structure of policies, templates, and workflows feels relevant and usable. It aligns with how schools actually function. When you're dealing with risk management, child protection, excursions, or complaints handling, the system speaks our language and supports our processes rather than complicating them.

It's getting better, but certain workflows (like assigning tasks or navigating the back-end of Assurance) could be more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The overall ability to have CompliSpace policies released, in line with best practice and legislative updates has been very helpful to provide us with a full suite of policies we would have struggled to achieve alone. While we have had our challenges, this feature has been a massive time saver for us. This, in the context of the new aged care changes in 2025, has been of great benefit.

Customer support is quite responsive and always keen to help out.

We have used the main policy page as a common landing page for all of our links, to keep our access to policies front and centre for staff.

There is no effective integration between the CompliSpace products. The policy portal could be improved by the ability to assign policy owners and better manage internal reviews. Currently reviews of CompliSpace-provided policies can't be assigned review dates by policy owners. Some type of feature to manage this in Assurance would be beneficial.

We don't use CompliLearn as we have found another product better placed for education in healthcare.

Pricing models have been challenging for a stand alone site which operates in a unique model.

The ability to contextualise policies has not been as straight forward as we had originally hoped. For example, changing the entry for one key in a policy might impact a range of other policies, where that same role might not be responsible. This can be a blessing (time saver) and a curse (where CompliSpace content doesn't match up with our processes, we need to create freeform versions, and then maintain the updates for these manually). More individualisation in this regard would save a lot of time.

A lot of the focus in updates seems to have been on PolicyConnect at the moment, however it would be nice to see Assurance start receiving more attention/capabilities and modernisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lack of customer support: Use to have an actual person to deal with and speak with, which was nice and helpful and it made the customer feel important. I was able to raise concerns with someone online (face to face) and have the matter resolved there and then, if urgent. Without that support, matters can take days or a couple of weeks to resolve. It's frustrating and be made to feel insignificant.

Clunky software: Some of the modules that we have licences for are proving difficult to use and manage with each year that goes on. Policies that are stored on PolicyConnect are bulky (40% larger than what a policy on a Word Doc would look like), with large fonts unprofessional looking, unable to use school letterheads to look more appealing and can't make simple changes to policies to suite the school, because they are locked and I need to seek permission from Ideagen to get that done (which takes days).

Lack of reporting flare: Unable to simply print a report for a risk register or checklist, or one that looks professional. It can only be downloaded in a PDF or excel, which is not professional. I was told that I need to download the excel and then format it in power BI to get the result that I'm after. If that's the case, I'm not sure why we pay for the product, but instead should just be using excel for free.

Great platform to streamline our policy, risk and compliance needs without overcomplicated systems.

Not very easy to navigate. there have been instances where I have had to be guided in a school process by various policies and procedures and I have ended up with a docen tabs open at the same time, and thoroughly lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think from an employees perspective it isn't super intuitive or friendly. For instance, you can search keywords like "leave" etc but most staff just want quick and easy to access frequent policies they would use in the workplace. The search bar brings almost everything related and unrelated into the suggestions, making it less friendly for staff who want to see basic policies and are less tech savvy.
