What do you like best about iClicker?

Very easy to use- especially setting up questions, answering them, and all in-class polls. These allow students to learn from in-class mistakes, as the review is always available. The range of clickers goes beyond the classroom- so students can ask questions from home too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

The screen takes very long to refresh at times, and I end up losing the point because of this glitch. Moreover, this software is pretty pricey- in comparison to the competition. It does not always feel worth the extra price we pay for minimal features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

- Remote learning; especially in times of covid

- Immediate results allow for a better understanding of mistakes

- Can track participation easily without manually counting and cold-calling students- saves energy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

It's convenient to use, and super easy to get on board with. Earlier I remember I had to physically purchase the clickers, but with an online transition, it's so much better to use. Can easily track the participation and progress of each individual, really helps make learning seminars interactive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not a lot- but sometimes the application will glitch. This happens most of the times from participants end as they arent able to enter their answers. I proceed to then manually entering their answers and giving them a score Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

My favorite thing about iClicker is the physical iClicker tools. You can use them to run impromptu polls in locations where mobile devices are inappropriate. (shops etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

In the past there was a challenge to keep users up to date on which version of the software to use. This may be more of a legacy issue though as I believe it self updates for the most part now. It is also harder to justify the expense when there are free polling platforms available and tools such as Slido. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Remote poll and question response in locations where cellphone use is inappropriate or unreliable. With the radio frequency clickers you can use them without internet access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

Good support from Macmillian. Polling and quizzes work well. Attendance is easy to set up and customize. I use it for daily participation scores in a class of 200+ students. It works fine most of the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

If a student has more than one account (for example, if they had registered for another class with a different email) then iClicker will only recognize that previous account and won't allow the student to make a new account that will synch with the learning software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am keeping up with participation in a large (200+ students) introductory STEM class at a state flagship university in the United States. I need a system that will integrate with Canvas, our campus's LMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

Ease of use. Just log in and set up quizzes or polls. Then students can use their remote, computer, or smart phone to answer the questions. Teacher's can assign things for students to accomplish prior to class to assess knowledge. Students can review results and learn from questions they get wrong. You can have classrooms within iclicker for each course in order to keep things organized. There is a section for study materials and a place to see grades.

The company has a very responsive help desk. They are polite and eager to ensure that their users receive excellent customer service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

Costly subscription. This product is very expensive. The subscription also expired part way through the year requiring us to purchase an additional subscription.

I also disliked how hard and confusing it is to initially set up classrooms. Sometimes this took quite a bit of time and multiple attempts. Sometimes the link that was supposed to set the one needed to set up a classroom space did not work. This resulted in teachers having to put off their planned use if iclicker until they were able to get help from the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Providing students with Timed quizzes and polls where they can see immediate feedback. It is also useful for attendance when students are attending class virtually. Questions and assignments can be timed or untimed.

Problems arise from time to time with system logging students out of iclicker after inactivity and losing the classes they were registered in once they log in later.

It is also a common problem to need to replace batteries in remote control. This increased the overall cost of using the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

I love how the iclicker can do so many things! You can press the buttons in the remote and the answers chosen will reflect onto the screen. It’s incredibly fun and useful for students. I love how you can see tour answers love compared to other students. It engages learning and keeps them on their toes. It has been so far the best tool I for undergraduate studies. I also love that the battery life hold very well. There is no need to plug it into an outlet for it to charge, which is very nice. Additional upsides include working alongside peers to answer questions, and improved test scores due to attentiveness to iclicker questions. The iclicker is most helpful when students want to participate but are either too shy to raise their hand. This eliminates awkwardness in a classroom setting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

I dislike how sometimes if you are not connected to the class number then you cannot participate. Sometimes there are signaling errors so that makes it hard for students to connect and interact. I also dislike how it runs on batteries. There is a battery setting to tell you how low your battery is but it uses up battery life really fast. Also, when you drop the iclicker it has a tendency to break, so the plastic is not very durable. Some students can not afford the cost of another iclicker because of the expense. The least helpful thing about the iclicker is that it cannot save your results into a database as the answers chosen will be forever deleted. The downsides include never being able to see the question asked in class, so students cannot review what they got wrong or what they got right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering iClicker:

I recommend that the iclicker device is chosen over the app on the phone. The app on the phone sometimes shuts down and is not as reliable as the iclicker. Do not drop the iclicker because it can break very easily since the plastic is not very durable Nd seems very cheap. The screen is very small and is not touch generated. Students cannot are questions or answers on the remote but only in the screen projected for the whole class. I also recommend that students pay for the iclicker ahead of time and register because this process may take long. Shipping may take a while for the Iclicker to come. The signal sometimes cannot reach all students so make sure that the signal is placed in an area without obstacles so that it can reach far. Make sure the signal is placed in a high position so it can reach students further in the back of the class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am solving communication problems in a classroom setting and realized that the attention from my students have increased. I have also realized that besides students being more attentive, they are more interactive. I have also realized that students’ performances on quizzes and exams have dramatically increased because they have been more attentive in class. I am also solving the problem for students who are shy and afraid to speak up in class. The iclicker promotes inclusiveness and allows for everyone with an iclicker to participate. Students who have never spoken up in class before are receiving participation points for using the iclicker, which has shown to improve their overall grades and performance. What do you like best about iClicker?

Functions the same as a normal clicker (you can even register physical clickers on the site), but instead of paying the $50 for a physical clicker, you can register for about $5 and use a virtual clicker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

Sometimes the virtual clicker can be a little buggy or slow if too many people are submitting answers to the instructor, but this doesn't happen often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering iClicker:

Look into the virtual option before buying a physical clicker, it will save you money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Very helpful for large lecture classes that still want to keep track of attendance and participation in class without having to specifically call on students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about iClicker?

I went to an enormous university, and iclicker made it possible for professors to visually gauge their students’ understanding of course material. I used iclicker to participate in class polls, gain attendance points, and answer questions. I loved that iclicker could create visual representations in the form of charts so professors and students could see where they respectively stood. My class size could get substantially large (300+ students), but with iclicker, my professors could still get a sense on the class’s overall progress and make sure that every student’s voice was heard through polls and Q&A sessions. iclicker is so simple and intuitive to use. One doesn’t have to be an expert on technology to figure out how to use iclicker (believe me, some of my professors were pretty old and they used it seamlessly). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

One aspect about iclicker that was irritating was the timer setting. Sometimes professors would forget to adjust the time for iclicker responses so students’ answers could not be registered. I do not think this feature is really necessary. Additionally, I think the software in the remotes can be adjusted to be a little bit more intuitive. Configuring the remotes to connect to the specific response frequency for a given classroom caused issues for me, as well as other students. Some generations of iclicker remotes do not have UIs, so this made it even harder to determine if the remote was properly configured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

The number one issue that iclicker helped my university resolve was figuring out how to gauge the overall progress of a class at a particular moment in time when that class has anywhere from 200-600 students in it. Before iclicker, professors only had a sense of students’ progress from their test scores, and by then it was too late to go back and review course material they may have had trouble with. With iclicker, professors can have an idea of where students stand in seconds, and I think it is immensely useful in that regard for both professors and students; professors can adjust their course schedules to accommodate student feedback, and students have the opportunity to showcase their own progress. What do you like best about iClicker?

The physical devices are small, and quite robust. If the technology is implemented properly, it can provide a smooth experience for the end user. However, in my experience, the technology is often implemented by executives and or higher level instructors who tend to be older and less tech-capable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iClicker?

The technology is expensive and updates are less frequent because of the physical component. There are so many competing technologies on the market that are purely software based that offer better support, cheaper introductory prices, and clearer user interfaces for technology-challenged users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering iClicker:

The most important consideration is weighing the actual price of the devices with the amount of data they capture. This is the best ratio to use when comparing this product with competing software-only products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is iClicker solving and how is that benefiting you?

iClicker help to capture data from large audiences in real time. The amount of input options can be helpful in providing more granular feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
