In our Organization for one of Banking Project we have used IBM Messaging Queue Service and we found the product very reliable, easy to configure and manage. We have entire Linux setup in our organization so we had installed IBM MQ service on Redhat Linux and its very easy to install and configure and the product is very much capable to manage heavy load.

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

Overall the product is one of the best in market but recently other competitive companies like Amazon provide much advanced features. Also,I found IBM Support process time consuming to resolve any issue.

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing Banking Domain Project requires regular updates to the customer for any transaction done by Customer. Also, customer should be informed immediately after any transaction is done from his/her bank account. So,messaging quesue plays vital role to regularly update customer and that too on time.

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

Sometimes there are some latencies. The exception handling mechanism should be improved. It is not that rich like Rabbit MQ. There are lots of things to be improved. Hopefully the developers will pay attention to that.

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is trying to solve the problem of assynchronus communication among different services and infrastructures. It this is properly done, a developer like me can use it to implement MQ on different projects.

  ### 7. Best tool to Integrate OBDX with T24 for Internet and Mobile Banking.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali Qammar R. | T24 Technical Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about IBM MQ?**

There were a lot of external banking systems communicating with T24 in Allied Bank Limited (PK), we couldn't manage each one with separate Middleware. So, we acquired IBM MQ and integrated all our external systems like OBDX (Oracle solution for Internet and Mobile Banking), INCHEQUES(Inward Clearing and Outward Clearing Software) etc through IBM MQ by configuring separate Queues for each system.

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

It's a bit expensive and sometimes IBM lags quick response if any support ticket is logged with them. Also, IBM Websphere is not easy to learn for beginners. It has a considerate learning curve. There should be a module that should send notifications to desired personnel for better monitoring and reporting.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM MQ:**

Build UI for Linux operating systems like already developed for Windows Operating systems.

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously when we were using in-house developed middle, requests were not coming to our core banking systems and we couldn't find the requests. Now after implementing IBM Websphere, we have successfully solved this issue. Now we have managed to process all the requests coming from all the integrated systems.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chirag T. | Technical Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about IBM MQ?**

1) Reliability of the platform which guarantees once a message is pushed into IBM MQ, it will be definitely delivered to its destination.Message never gets lost in MQ.
2) Supports various modes of operation like point to point, publisher - subscriber, file transfer etc.
3) MQ GUI can be configured where you can get a view of all the messages being transferred over queue, number of queues, etc.

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

1) Huge licensing cost.
2) Monopolistic behaviour of IBM.
3) It uses a push based mechanism wherein a producer pushes the message and any of the consumer applications that are subscribed to that queue are free to take the message. Hence, it lacks better control over message delivery to intented recipient.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM MQ:**

1) Would not recommend as it involves huge licensing cost.
2) Lot of open source and cheaper tools are available which give you the same level of performance. Hence, would recommend going for such tools rather than MQ.

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) Messaging platform which is robust, flexible and reliable.
2) Transfer data in an asynchronous format over different networks.
3) Enable interaction of different types of applications as MQ will act as a middleware application facilitating standardization over transfer of data over the network.
4) Provide strong security mechanisms to protect data from external threats when being transferred over the network.

**What do you like best about IBM MQ?**

IBM MQ is probably one of the oldest middleware solutions provided by IBM. MQ means messaging queuing which essentially works as a transport medium to transport any sort of message or data from source to the destination. MQ has all types of resources like queues, channels, queue manager, process definitions, etc.
IBM MQ can offer you point to point and clustered setup based on your network requirement. If you have only 2 parties where one is the source and the other destination then P2P is more advantageous, but if you have many queue managers and they are interlinked with different services they support then have a clustered setup and establishing a full repository accompanied with few partial repositories would be a good option for you.
IBM MQ is capable of handling the highest security implementations possible. We have upgraded the latest TLS on the system and it was successfully deployed with new cert exchange also happening without any issues. There can also be security at CLN

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

IBM MQ has been there forever and they have always tried to perfect it more and more in each version. My biggest concern with the software is the patching process, if you encounter any bug they will give you a temporary solution but you will need to wait till the next patch comes out for that bug to be addressed.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM MQ:**

If you are looking for an Enterprise level solution for handling transport of data from source to the destination safe, secure, non-repudiation, intact an

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our whole middleware system is based on MQ interfacing with Websphere message broker and Websphere Datapower Gateway. The beauty of IBM MQ is that it is wire-speed, stable, can not be hacked, non-repudiable, integrity is intact and surity of messaf

  ### 50. Market leader in Middleware Technology

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2019

**What do you like best about IBM MQ?**

IBM MQ is a proprietary software from IBM. We have purchased the Enterprise edition in which you can create as many new queue managers and connections you want. The best part about it is that is the safest option for a message delivery system. It offers you non- repudiation, integrity of the message, checksum and all this is happening at wire speed for literally millions of transactions each day. The software has a bit of learning curve but once you fully understand the functionality, you realise how powerful, stable and fast it is compared to any other competitive products. IBM MQ is the best software available in the market for setting up a new PUB-SUB model or a full & partial repositories clustering model or even a one to one connection queue manager model. I have never seen better resource management that IBM MQ does in the clustering.

**What do you dislike about IBM MQ?**

Well, no complaints from the software as such. But, IBM support team takes a lot of time to respond if you raise a problem ticket to them. We have to open a SEV 1 call bridge to get them on call and that support is very expensive.

**What problems is IBM MQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been working on IBM MQ for more than 5 years now. We have delivered so many projects where the new platform was IBM MQ and they have been going on for ages without any issues, just regular health checks on queue managers and channel connections between them. It integrates so smoothly with IBM DataPower and IBM Message Broker which makes the transportation, orchestration and rendering of the messages so easy to implement.
