I like the work culture where everybody treats and behaves fair, also you can be able to learn new technologies as well as fair wages and this makes it different from another companies in my opinion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing as such but i would say the time management is not really that good but this is the only part I dislike about the company else everything is good enough Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Industry leading OLTP performance. The widest set of replication technologies in the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No one seems to know about it who doesn't already use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Informix is really easy to set up and administer. It's fast and very stable. It scales like crazy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's difficult to find Informix professionals. I also think it's a bit pricey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Informix products are reliable & stable. Since 1998, I've worked with a variety of their products and have only had a handful of problems that required intervention from Informix/IBM to help correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In comparison to other databases, it is harder to find resources with much Informix experience at least in our area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Informix is my favorite work tool because it meets expectations, it is excellent as this software adapts remarkably to our OLTP server thanks to its architecture, which makes the work we do in our company meet all quality standards, this is completely stable and extensible for any type of data. The data allows us to use it in many areas of our work, thus improving our performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There really isn't anything I dislike about Informix, as it has adapted very well to my company's needs, but if there is something that slightly affects its performance, it is that it is single-threaded since it is not capable of taking advantage of multiple processors because it only handles one request at a time. Its ease of installation and use; when it is well configured, it does not require much supervision and monitoring, and the maintenance cost is low. The speed and accuracy of its responses to queries is very good. Informix allows new developers to adapt quickly by using standard SQL, and its timeserial fields are very precise for generating sequences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its limited distribution in South America leads to the belief that it is a database that is discontinued, but that is not the case. Additionally, its look and feel should be improved, moving from a black or green screen to a more graphical one for its administration and management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of Database administration. First of all it hardly crashes! However, whatever the reason for the crash it could be, it comes back with a simple command in just seconds. That means, less downtime and the customer/users get the database back within few seconds after the crash. Then the DBA or System Admin can take their time to analyze the problem and workaround etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been supporting Informix as a Database Administrator since it was version 5.x. I have seen several name changes, unclear road map, and lack of clarity on the top level management, prior to the time it was sold to IBM. Few of the things - The product like XPS was discontinued. The most important fact was a lot of good customers/clients moved out of Informix. Noticing a decrease in the IIUG participation each year. So sad, the product like Informix did not deserve to see this time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
