I appreciate how IBM Apptio has evolved over time to include newer frameworks, aligning technology spend with business outcomes effectively. The platform's ability to allocate costs to applications, services, and products that were not previously tied is invaluable for our financial transparency and accountability. This feature supports the transition from project-based costing to a product-based approach, which helps us track the outcomes and value associated with our technology investments better. The software's adaptability in incorporating different infrastructure platforms and ensuring our initiatives align with strategic outcomes enhances our decision-making process significantly. I also find the relatively straightforward configuration process convenient, despite some challenges in obtaining data from other systems. Overall, IBM Apptio’s integration capabilities with tools like Ariba, ServiceNow, LeanIX, and Workday enhance our technological ecosystem seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Cost Transparency, Needs Reporting Enhancements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IBM Apptio?

I genuinely appreciate IBM Apptio for its flexibility to model different datasets and its ability to drill down to details. This capability allows me to analyze costs with transparency and precision, which is crucial for chargebacks and cost optimization. Furthermore, IBM Apptio eliminates hidden fees, enabling the business to make informed decisions about cost optimization levers. The transparency in cost allocations it offers means that the business can clearly understand their expenses, ensuring there are no surprises. This tool is incredibly valuable for making data-driven decisions and optimizing costs effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Apptio?

I find the reporting capabilities somewhat limited, as IBM Apptio currently allows drill down reporting for only two objects. This restriction makes it challenging to keep all our customers in one place for comprehensive analysis. I also encountered difficulties during the initial setup due to the data volume required by Apptio, which was cumbersome. At that time, not having all the necessary data led to some allocations not working as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
