IBM API Connect Pros and Cons

IBM API Connect is a single API Management solution where it provides the high security, easy to develop the APIs, we can publish the APIs to socialize. IBM API Connect will be integrated with IBM DataPower Gateway where it will acts as gateway which provides high securtiy where it will be acts as a proxy. In the latest version of API Connect the advanced features are released where we can discover the APIs before moving to API lifecycle and we can governance the APIs using API & Product level rulesets.

UI of IBM API developer and Admin portal is good for managing and viewing the available products. The configuration related to product subscription, API's endpoints and secrets is very easy through Adming portal. The best thing i like about this product is that it's very easy to configure and manage the access for specific product at individual and group level. Product needs improvement on the latency of API call.As, with this layer of APIC configuration it adds a bit more delay. Also, the platform is very slow if we import the API and try to view/edit in API editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recently i got the oppurtunity to work with IBM API Connect, It comes very handly for management and deployments of API's.It provides seamless tools for API managing and developement, thoughout the API lifecycle starting from design to deployment and deprecation of API. Its a one stop shop that allows us to create, manage and secure our application API's in the on-prem cloud or to other vendors like GCP, AWS. I found the neat little virtual machine appliance easy to deploy on our on-prem infrastructure and quick to get up and running. Although IBM API is very good and useful but customer support is not very efficient and the complex features are hard to understand sometimes. Also, IBM API connect subscription and licensing is sometimes very costly and sometimes not affordable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like the most is the analytics and API lifecycle management because it is easy to use and the data syncronization as well as testing and tracking from one place. On the other hand the security is good and with each update it has improved a lot, the execution times have also changed for the better and lastly I liked being able to manage multiple routes and have an analytics tab at the same time. I had alot of issues related to connecting multiple devices but all thanks to IBM API Connect, now i am worry free.

The tutorials are real friends which makes this IBM API Connect super convenient and usuaful for everyone.

I am not a coder and was sceptical before buying it but this was super easy and quick to start when compared to other API solutions.
