"Effortless 401k Management with Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Human Interest?

I’ve found Human Interest incredibly easy to set up, which has saved me a lot of time. Their support team is great, and it makes the whole 401k process feel quick, straightforward, and effective from start to finish. I haven’t had any negative experiences so far. As someone starting a new 401k plan, I also appreciate the tax benefits, though the experience would be even better with clearer explanations around how everything works. It is also very cost competitive which was one of the primary drivers that drove us to choose Human Interest. Lastly the user interface is simple allowing for quickly switching between individual user screens and employer screens. Furthermore, the simple udpates for tasks needing to be completed are incredibly easy to follow and complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

There was nothing bad. As a new 401k plan, there are tax benefits which can be somewhat confusing. Anything that can make that as clear as possible would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined 401(k) Management with Seamless Payroll Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Human Interest?

I really like how Human Interest links seamlessly with our payroll provider. Even though we're not sophisticated 401(k) administrators, they ensure we are well taken care of. The seamless API links are particularly helpful; Human Interest manages the eligibility of our staff for 401(k) and aligns our payroll systems so that contributions are automatically taken when an employee becomes eligible. This is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

The biggest issue that we've had was that the integration with Rippling has not been as smooth as it was with TriNet. It's not as seamless and there have been issues with the implementation. The setup with Rippling was more challenging compared to the very easy setup we had with TriNet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Retirement Solutions for Small Businesses"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Human Interest?

I use Human Interest for providing 401K benefits to my small business. It's super easy to use, which is crucial for me as a small business owner because my time is valuable. I really appreciate that it connects seamlessly with Gusto, my payroll software, and there are no fees for this integration. The simplicity of the initial setup was impressive; I barely had to do anything, and my employees were able to register with ease. This integration takes the guesswork out of retirement benefits and makes everything seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

They mentioned they were going to start charging for their services. I will be very disappointed if they start charging because I will cancel my account with them. When I signed up, the person I spoke with said for the foreseeable future it will be free with Gusto integration and I expect them to stand by that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Human Interest?

It was great in the beginning and unfortunately their was an error made on their end that they owned up to their mistake however it cost my company over $1,000 extra, there was indeed out of pocket cost because funds were withdrawn automatically from our account. Thank you for your patience on this! You’ve got the right idea. During a recent review, we identified that some employee contributions weren't processed as they should have been. Because this was an error on our end, we’ve applied a Correction Credit to resolve it.

What this means for you:

No out-of-pocket cost: We’ve already moved the necessary funds into the affected employee accounts to make them whole. Since Human Interest covered the cost of this correction, there isn't a refund due to the company; instead, we used those funds to fix the discrepancy directly.

We handle the paperwork: When contributions are delayed, the IRS requires a specific filing called Form 5330. This is simply a report used to document the correction. Our team is taking care of the preparation for you.

Next steps: When the filing deadline approaches, we will send the completed form to you for a quick review and signature. You don’t need to take any action until then.

You can find a full breakdown of the specific amounts and employees affected in the Error Correction Reports section of your Document Library on the admin dashboard. We’ve also included summaries there that you can share with your team members if they have questions about their accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

I had a few minor hiccups during setup because I was both an owner and an employee, and they needed to merge my two accounts. It took a few weeks to get everything sorted out, but once it was resolved, it worked smoothly. After that, a few additional issues came up and were only resolved after multiple calls and emails with three different departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Gusto Integration with Flexible, User-Friendly Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Human Interest?

I absolutely appreciate the integration of Human Interest with Gusto, which makes managing employee benefits seamless and cost-effective for us. Setting up Human Interest was straightforward, thanks to the responsive support team and intuitive design. The overwhelming flexibility in choosing different retirement plans and configuring investment amounts stands out as highly beneficial. The simple and approachable interface distinguishes itself from typical financial software, providing a smoother user experience. Additionally, the discount due to our use of Gusto makes this service even more valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

I find it would be helpful if Human Interest offered more educational materials for employees unfamiliar with a 401(k) or its workings. As our team is relatively young and new to this, having those resources readily available could have been beneficial a few months ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Human Interest?

I have been wanting to add the benefit of 401K for my staff, had originally been contacted by my bank on how to set it up but the process was confusing and complicated and I seem to fall thru the cracks, when I spoke with my payroll rep he recommended Human Interest and we were luckily able to stop one sign up to Human Interest. Each member of the Human Interest group seemed to care, took the time I needed to understand and proceed appropriately and then followed up. The actual installation and set up, sign up and installation went smoothly, no hassle, no complications. Each of my staff members feel comfortable as do I. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

Most helpful was their patience and ability to make it all understandable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Human Interest?

I like how easy to use the dashboard is. I'm given email updates when there's signatures or things being filed, so I always feel like I'm in the loop, even though I'm not having to do any of the actual work. It's easy to have all of the information for both myself and my business at my fingertips with the click of a button. Whenever I need support, the support team is easy to get a hold of, and they respond to me. It makes everything seamless, allowing me to focus on my business without having to think about managing the retirement plan tasks myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transparent Price, Responsive Support, But Limited Options and No Personal Relationship"
3/5
What do you like best about Human Interest?

Cost is fair. They are responsive to phone calls and emails. You can talk to a real US based person pretty quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

I have a few complaints. You can only make percentage based contributions and not dollar amount contributions. This was misrepresented to me during sales calls. Their backend system is limited in in its functionality. It is currently not possible for employees to take Emergency Personal Expense distributions per the Secure 2.0. It has taken them several weeks to allocate the funds received from our previous provider. They say you get a dedicated account manager, but those "dedicated" managers do not have their own email addresses. If you send an email, you could get a response from anyone in a pool of people. The dedicated account managers have very limited power to actually do anything. They really serve as middle men between the customer and other parts of Human Interest. A lot of questions are answered with statements like "let me check with the compliance team" or "I will let you know what the conversion team says". It will take several days and multiple emails to resolve anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful Support That Makes 401k Easy to Understand"

What do you like best about Human Interest?

Every time i have a question or need to make changes, their support is so helpful. I am not very familiar with 401ks, and they always take their time to walk through it and make sure I understand it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

I just am not familiar with 401ks so its nothing i don't like about them, its my own lack of understanding for how they work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
