## Human Interest Reviews
 ### 1. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy W. | Chief Operating Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Going through Human Interest has made the administration of our 401k much easier. They handled all the backend details so that it was super easy on my end.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

One thing that is annoying is that I have to verify eligible employees often and the system doesn't update which ones I've already verified. It's hard to manage unless you can remember which ones you've already done.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do feel confident that the administration of the 401k is being handled correctly. It was overwhelming to have that responsibility.

 ### 2. Seamless Transition That Took Work Off My Plate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** McKayla H. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciated how seamless our transition was. Once I got them the necessary information, they took over from there and it was one less thing on my plate.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I haven't noticed anything at this point that I dislike about HI

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My problem was with my previous 401K admin. The communication was lacking and there was no transparency. they also never kept information up to date. It was just one issue after another. On HI, I have more transparency and support which go a long way in keeping my job manageable as someone who wears many hats. the platform is also more accessible for my employees.

 ### 3. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Via Gusto, I was offered 2 years of fee waivers so I figured I could try setting up a 401K for my company. Most of my employees opted in, as did I. I don't miss the small % deduction from my paycheck, but see it building nicely in my account! It was easy to set up and aside from reading the regular emails I don't even really have to check in on it, I just know it's doing its job in the background.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I don't like having to pay for eligible employees who opt out.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to offer a 401K plan to my employees, something they appreciate. Industry colleagues have also congratulated me on this step and for doing things "the right way".

 ### 4. User-Friendly 401k Solution with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Founder / Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like Human Interest for its good customer support, which is easy to contact and communicate with. The dashboard and website are very user-friendly and easy to manage. The onboarding process was seamless, and signing up our employees was easy. I love how Human Interest integrates with our payroll processing software and automatically pulls and deposits retirement funds into each employee's account directly, which is super efficient. The 401k process is extremely simple, making it easy to offer to employees and help them prepare for retirement. Setting up was straightforward, facilitated by a pleasant sales rep and an informative onboarding specialist, with great support available when needed. The service, support, and product are all great.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There isn't anything to say about dislikes... Truly.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest simplifies managing 401k accounts by automating investments and integrating with our payroll. The user-friendly platform and seamless onboarding help offer retirement benefits easily, with efficient support and account handling, making the 401k process smooth and beneficial for our team.

 ### 5. Effortless 401K Management with Stellar Usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kristen s. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I use Human Interest to manage our practice's 401K, and it makes it very easy for employees to choose their contribution level and change the percentage when needed. The website is super easy to navigate, and I appreciate how we get emails after each payroll indicating that the contributions have gone through and letting us know how much our employer matched our contributions. It's great for me because I like to track all my payroll information through Quicken, so anything to make inputting this information easier is fantastic. Also, the initial setup of Human Interest was very easy, and since switching from ADP, we've been extremely happy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I do wish that the employer match could be seen on our iSolved paycheck, so that we wouldn't have to navigate two websites to get all the information for Quicken.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to simplify managing our 401K, making it easy for employees to adjust contributions and see company matches. Navigating the site is a breeze, and I love getting emails confirming contributions, which helps me keep track of payroll information with Quicken.

 ### 6. Easy 401K Management with Reliable Returns

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I use Human Interest for managing my 401K program at my company. I find it very customer friendly as it makes it easy to understand what's happening with my investments. They have also demonstrated an ability to produce a healthy return even in a turbulent market. I value receiving a good return on investment and appreciate that they make informed decisions behind the scenes based on my tolerance and risk levels. The initial setup was very easy too.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I'd like to know if all of my employees are taking advantage of the program and getting quarterly reports emailed to me would be nice as opposed to having to login and check on things. It would be nice to have the ability to designate different accounts for different employees in terms of what the company portion is each month.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for managing my 401K program, helping with active money management, seamless employee enrollment, and informed investment decisions based on risk tolerance.

 ### 8. Easy-to-Navigate and Understandable Benefits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It is very easy to navigate. The site and features are simple and clear, which make complex things like benefits and payroll much easier to implement. The site is always smooth and performs with ease. Not only that, but the more automated (perhaps AI) support features make things more understandable. The communication is also very timely and offers supportive reminds to me as a small business owner. The cost and integration with QuickBooks was a big draw for me and I have continued to find both those things to be major positives of using Human Interest.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have only been using HI for about 3-4 months. I have no dislikes at this time

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy, consistent, and understandable implementation of benefits.

 ### 9. User-Friendly Platform for 401(k) Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iya L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest allows me to log in and see the status of everyone's account and their contributions. It provides me with visibility over the accounts, ensuring everyone is on track to do the right thing. Plus, the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I think I would like an email each month with a status update so I can get that directly in my inbox.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to provide 401(k) plans for my employees, allowing them to manage their accounts easily. It also gives me visibility over everyone's accounts to ensure they are on track.

 ### 10. Overall good but a few frustrations.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Onboarding was fairly straightforward, utilization hasn't required a lot.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The team introduction session didn't match the level of knowledge about 401k savings that my team had - meaning a more straightforward explanation of what it is, what it does, how it works as a starting point would have been helpful. The fees initially explained to me turned out not to be correct. It feels the requirements of me as the plan contact on the company end were not fully explained upfront.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can offer 401k plans to our staff with someone else managing the back end keeping things legal. As a small organization without a dedicated HR department, we have not previously felt we had the capacity to figure out how to set up and/or to administer a 401k offering.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the onboarding experience and we appreciate your input on what we can improve. We are always looking to enhance our customer experience.

 ### 11. Effortless Payroll Integration and User-Friendly Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

So easy to use and does not add significant burden to payroll processes. Great promo when used with Gusto. Was relatively stress free to implement, very easy for individual employees to sign up, make changes to preferences, etc. They answered all my questions with onboarding - it was easier to get started than I expected - no hiccups!

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is nothing that I dislike so far. No complaints.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to use, low cost 401 k plan for my small business and means I do not have to use Cal Savers, which is a huge pain.

 ### 12. Modern UI and Robust Support Enhance Our 401K Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I use Human Interest for my company's 401K program, and I find the modern UI to be my favorite feature. It allows me to navigate, view data and reports easily, helping me understand what my money is doing. The ability to add employees to the program and edit their features, like percentage contributions, without needing to make multiple calls to customer support or send numerous unresolved emails is a huge advantage. The robust support network and the ability to view different datasets on demand help shape our decisions effectively. The initial setup process was very easy; I just filled out a questionnaire, and it went live shortly after.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I didn't want to have to pay fees on it. The fees I pay mean that all of my interest earned isn't putting me personally ahead of the game for a long while.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest has a modern UI and robust support, allowing me to navigate, view data and reports easily. I can add employees and manage contributions without repeated calls and unresolved emails, which is a huge improvement over our previous provider.

 ### 13. Challenging Setup, Limited Support Response

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find Human Interest easy to use for our employees. From an administrator's perspective, it's crucial that the tool is easy to set up, especially for younger employees or people who aren't financially well-versed. I appreciate that the platform is intuitive and easy to understand. I also like that users can log in to their dashboard and update their settings on their own without having to go through myself or an adviser.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

From an administrator perspective, everything has been pretty challenging. We received no individual setup assistance and struggled to launch our plan on our own. Additionally, we failed all of our compliance tests from things that our account manager or adviser should have flagged. Finally, all of our interactions with support have responded with AI-generated responses. So even though we're on a concierge level plan, I feel like we are not receiving any kind of individual level requests. It's been a frustrating experience to say the least.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest as a 401(k) platform for our employees. It's easy for them to use, and as an administrator, I appreciate its intuitive setup, especially for those not financially well-versed. Employees can update settings independently through their dashboard.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Jen. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 14. Streamlined 401K Management but Needs More Investment Options

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that the web portal of Human Interest is nice, and there are a bunch of funds to choose from. Setting up a new employee is also easy, and I can direct them to the web portal where they can select from the variety of funds.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Having an app would be great, and I've had complaints about the number of funds to choose from, specifically ETFs and NASDAQ.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest simplifies managing our 401K plan. The web portal is nice, and it makes setting up new employees easy by letting them choose from a variety of funds.

 ### 15. Effortless 401k Management for Small Practices

**Reviewed by:** Rita D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest allows me to work with a company that's easy to use for the 401(k) plan I provide for my employees. When I enrolled about a year ago, I found it fairly easy to do so. There weren't many technical documents complicating the situation, and I was able to enroll quickly. This ensured that my employees were able to receive 401(k) support for future retirement planning. The initial setup was really easy, it provided the best package or deal for the purpose that I needed it for, and I was able to get it done within a day, or even less.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I haven't come across a dislike.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest makes it easy to manage the 401(k) I provide for my employees, ensuring smooth enrollment and support for their retirement planning.

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Easy to setup, cost is reasonable. Integrates/works with our payroll service provider

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Did try to get us to come on board earlier than we wanted due to being a seasonable business. It's still early in our relationship and want to see how end of year goes as far as benefit to us as owners

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employee benefts and retention

 ### 17. Easy to Use and Manage for a Small Startup. Major plus for staff.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

As a small, growing company we were looking for something that was easy to implement, maintain, and use. Human Interest integrate with our HR provider (Rippling) and requires very little oversight. It knows when staff have started/left and files legal documentation on our behalf.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

For someone not in the HR/finance/investment wold, I feel like the messaging could be better. For lack of better words, dumb it down. I felt like I had to learn a new lexicon when talking with your reps, reviewing the website, and then onboarding staff.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a small but growing startup and our staff wanted a retirement investment option. Without a dedicated HR or benefits person, Human Interest allowed us to meet that need with little lift, stress, or ongoing maintenance.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like the seamless implementation process of Human Interest. It was super quick, taking only about two days, which wasn't administrative or time-consuming. The quick turnaround and installation were great because there wasn't a lot of manual labor, time, or attention required. Another thing I really appreciate is the great offer we received, which gives us access to this vendor for two years for free. This is really helpful for us as an early-stage tech startup since it was great not to put out too much cash upfront.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

No dislikes to share at this time

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solves the problem of automatic 401(k) contributions for employees with minimal administrative burden. It integrates seamlessly with our HR system, Gusto, making it easy to review eligible employees.

 ### 19. Effortless 401(k) Management with Lightning-Fast Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ally D. | Co-Founder & Technology Advocate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like how quick and easy it was to set up a 401(k) plan with Human Interest. It gave me recommendations on industry standards such as my employer match and plan details, which was incredibly helpful. It became really easy to follow a couple of quick steps to get my employees their notifications. Plus, the automation is great—when I hire or terminate someone, everything automatically flows back and forth between our payroll provider and Human Interest. I've told others that Human Interest is easily the easiest solution I've ever set up in my history of doing system setups, and my company specializes in software implementations. That's a big testament to Human Interest. I would rate it 10 being the best.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is nothing, at this point we dislike about Human Interest

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest made it easy for our company to set up a 401(k) plan without the time and resources for research, automating the process. It provides industry-standard recommendations and automates notifications and updates between our payroll provider and Human Interest.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like Human Interest's ease of use, both as a company 401k provider and as an employee adjusting my IRA and Roth percentage levels. It allows quick adjustments from payroll to payroll. The portal features a clean, intuitive interface, which makes navigating it simple. Additionally, the seamless integration with our payroll provider, Rippling, is very convenient for our operations.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I do monthly reports for Accounting to reconcile the allocations by department. I'd like it if the reports were more easily sorted by job title and/or department.

 ### 22. Great for Tracking, But Navigation Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Package/Freight Delivery | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find it very useful that it can keep track of who has enrolled and who has rejected. The ability to manage everything at a glance, with information organized in easily readable lists, is excellent. The times I've had to call support, the issues were generally handled within a few days. I am kept up to date on any changes with empolyees.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Whenever I navigate back from a page, it sends me all the way to the beginning instead of just going back one step. This can be quite frustrating, as I end up having to click the same buttons repeatedly. Had to call support for an issue that should never have been an issue. They didn't even know anything was wrong. Sometimes the emails can be a bit much. It would be better to send one out a day for any employees who have left the company rather than individually.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeps things orderly and I can answer any questions my employees have.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 24. Easy, Automatic QuickBooks Payroll Integration at a Fair Price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Easy to use as it is automatic with quickbooks payroll. Pricing seems fair with the initial discount. To be determined once full prices come into play. The support team helpfulness varies. Seems like new managers for the accounts change frequently. Would be nice if it were consistent to help with specific questions.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The support team helpfulness varies. Seems like new managers for the accounts change frequently. Would be nice if it were consistent to help with specific questions.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the time it takes to do the 401K every pay period. Performs well with quickbooks, making it seamless.

 ### 25. Effortless 401(k) Management with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like that Human Interest is very easy to use. It integrates seamlessly with Gusto, which is our paid payroll platform, and I've never had a single complaint from any of our employees. As a small business, seamless integrations are crucial for us, and the fact that Human Interest allows us to boost employee benefits with just a few clicks and a couple of calls is fantastic. The initial setup was incredibly smooth, a 10 out of 10. It makes our 401k management a lot easier and more streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I think the only thing that could be improved is having a better announcement to the employees that their automatic contribution rate is what it is. For example, for us, it's 8%. A few employees are not maybe great at opening emails, so they were surprised to find out that it was 8% until we informed them, and then they just made adjustments to their allocation.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for an easy-to-use dashboard for employee retirement benefits. It integrates with Gusto, making benefits boosting seamless with just a few clicks, avoiding the hassle of financial advisors.

 ### 26. Effortless 401(k) Setup with Human Interest

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like the seamless onboarding with Human Interest. It makes it really easy for employees to sign up and get started. I also appreciate the reminder they sent me to renew, which was really helpful, and it was easy to renew. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

No dislikes, they’re very professional and easy to work with!

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest doesn't solve specific problems for me but provides my employees with a 401(k) plan. I like the seamless onboarding, making it easy for employees to sign up and start. They also send renewal reminders, which is really helpful.

 ### 27. Effortless 401k Setup with Great Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate that I've been able to reach out to our account manager for any questions. The account managers we've had have been helpful and responsive. The initial setup was super easy because it was integrated with Gusto.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There has been some confusion about the nature of our plan. For example, we are supposed to be on basic match starting in 2026, but it looks like the team from Human Interest is having trouble finding out why we're not on that plan currently. In general, 401k compliance can be a tricky and confusing thing. I think there's still room to improve how they communicate plan details, especially as they relate to compliance (top heavy testing, safe harbor, etc.).

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest allowed us to have a 401k plan, helping our company to grow. The setup was super easy with Gusto integration, and the account managers are helpful and responsive.

 ### 28. Exceptional Customer Service, Seamless Payroll Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie L. | Founder and Principal at Ampersand Consulting Solutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate the phenomenal customer service from Human Interest. From my first call with the sales rep to the onboarding process, everything has been great. Their onboarding was smooth, with funds being transferred from our prior provider seamlessly. The educational materials on their website and the help from the implementation specialist in setting up our new account made us feel well taken care of and supported as we transitioned. Additionally, Human Interest's connection with our payroll software makes it easy for our employees to access the platform and manage their retirement funds effectively.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We’ve been happy with everything so far!

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Human Interest for our 401(k) plan, ensuring easy employee access and management options through payroll integration.

 ### 29. Seamless 401k Management with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zenia D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate Human Interest for its vast offering ability and the diligence and speed in their communication. They have a huge list of investment offerings, more extensive than other shops I've looked into. The technology is easy to use, making this part of our platform the easiest to navigate. Human Interest also allowed us to seamlessly transfer and reallocate our employees' existing 401k loans and allocations, and they are incredibly fast, responsive, and easy to reach. The initial setup was incredibly easy, even converting our 401k in November, which can be tricky.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

At our old 401k platform, we could take out multiple loans up to a certain amount. At Human Interest, that is not the case. That's the only downside I've found this far.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest makes reallocating 401k portfolios seamless and their technology is easy to use. They offer a vast array of investment options and their communication is fast and responsive. We switched due to their high tech, ease of use, and lower fees.

 ### 30. Effortless Setup, Supportive Guidance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like Human Interest for the ease of setting up and the ease of being able to contact people. The people who contacted me to set up Human Interest actually assisted with the whole process and walked me through thoroughly. This helped me, as the executive administrator, to not have a lot of work to do.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The program used for billing to actually take money out isn't working well, as I haven't been able to contact them as easily.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest provides investment options; its setup is easy, with support that reduces my workload as an executive administrator.

 ### 31. Easy to Use and a Great Resource for Our Staff

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It's been easy to use, and a great resource for our staff

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Not that I dislike, but right now having a staff who left and their email is still their work email, it's been challenging try to get info on how to get her to change it (the link that the web says to contact doesn't go anywhere). We are working on it with our rep though.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing retirement plans for us. It's a benefit to offer staff and easy for them to use, access and manage.

 ### 32. Easy Payroll Integration, but Deduction Options Can Improve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Political Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that it integrates with my payroll system and that it has a simple to access website. I appreciate that it allows for Roth IRA contributions by employees.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Human Interest's payroll integration means that even though employees are immediately eligible for our 401k plan, they are not functionally able to enroll until after their first runs, meaning they miss out on a match. Additionally, I personally prefer to calculate my deductions by dollar figure and not by percentage, which is not a function that Human Interest offers.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wished to quickly set up a 401k for my time-limited company. They helped us get set up quickly and provide a functional solution for people who want to be saving for retirement.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We're happy you enjoy the payroll integration and other features. We also appreciate your ideas, which we'll share internally as we are always looking to improve.

 ### 33. Baited and switched on fees to employer after investing time to convert plan

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darlene M. | Clinical Director/CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how Human Interest notifies employees about eligibility and handles contributions by taking them out of payroll and taking care of payment.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I'm frustrated by the bait and switch on the cost. It was sold to me as no cost to employer via Gusto, but now I'm facing $100’s each month in fees, making me consider other programs or going back to my old Simple. The unexpected charges that were never discussed should be illegal. The initial setup seemed like a lot was missed.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest was supposed to save me time and keep our company compliant. It also notifies employees about eligibility, takes their contributions out of payroll, and takes care of payment.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> We take your feedback very seriously, Darlene. We will contact you directly to discuss your experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are committed to resolving this promptly.

 ### 34. Seamless Paylocity Integration with Easy, Accurate Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It integrates really well with Paylocity and makes it easy to ensure employees have the correct amounts deducted and that the employer match is accurate. I receive emails whenever there are changes I need to review, and those updates are straightforward to make. Updating information is also very easy. When I add an employee in Paylocity or make changes to their employee profile, it shows up in Human Interest very quickly and notifies me so I know there are changes to review.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

At this time, I don’t have any dislikes about Human Interest.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No specific issues to report. Human Interest is allowing us to offer a benefit we haven’t been able to offer before, and our employees seem to really appreciate it. That likely explains why most of our eligible employees have signed up.

I love how easy it is to use and how it will automatically update changes I make regarding employees in QuickBooks. This has been a real time-saver and simplifies everything. The initial setup was also very simple, making it an overall great experience.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Nothing comes to mind

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest simplifies managing 401k plans by seamlessly integrating with QuickBooks and automatically syncing with payroll, saving time and making everything simple.

 ### 36. Effortless 401(k) Management with Human Interest

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I use Human Interest for our 401(k) plan for employees, and we appreciate how easy it is to navigate with an easy interface. Our financial advisors really liked the investment options available. I think the dashboard is clean, and people find it easy to navigate the website, which helps them feel more confident with investing. The initial setup was very easy, thanks to the legwork done by our advisors. Additionally, the team works directly with our financial advisors, which strengthens the relationship and has been very helpful. We also integrate Human Interest with Gusto for payroll, which works well for us.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

nothing yet

I find Human Interest is easy to navigate with a simple interface. Our financial advisors appreciate the investment options, and the website's ease helps people feel more confident with investing.

 ### 37. Seamless 401(k) Management with Empowering Employee Control

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa S. | Director of HR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like Human Interest because it's so easy for employees to make changes themselves without having to go through HR. Being the HR director in a small company where it's just me, it's great that they can do it on their own. It's also rewarding and incentivizing for them to sign up for a 401(k), knowing they can adjust their contributions if they need to. They just go on there and make the changes themselves, which gives them a sense of control. I think that's really important.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I think right now, I don't really have any complaints. I, interestingly enough, have two profiles set up in our Rippling account. And so sometimes it tells me that I'm actually not eligible to put money into my 401k, but it's just a misread.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to execute our 401(k) plans. It's all online, integrates with Rippling, and simplifies the process compared to our old paper-based system, boosting enrollment. Employees can easily make changes without HR, giving them control, and making the process rewarding and engaging.

 ### 38. Reliable Service That Supports My Financial Goals

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samson T. | Director, Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I’m a current customer of Human Interest, and I'm writing this review in exchange for a $25 gift card incentive, which creates a material conflict of interest as it creates a financial incentive to write a favorable review.

Human Interested provides a very simple onboarding processes that enables us to quickly select, set and forget our 401k investments. The tools to adjust contribution to do it by % or $ is easy to use and switch up as needed, and they offer a wide variety of investment options based on my risk tolerance. They translate scenarios to actual financial tolerance investment profiles so you don't need to be super financial savy to move forward.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I’m a current customer of Human Interest, and I'm writing this review in exchange for a $25 gift card incentive, which creates a material conflict of interest as it creates a financial incentive to write a favorable review.

In my experience, Human Interest is a fairly straightforward platform. However, I feel it lacks options for personalization and the ability to select individual stocks. I also find that the portfolio does not offer complete transparency regarding which stocks, bonds, ETFs, and other assets our investments are allocated to. Because of this, I have to place a certain level of trust in the company.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m a current customer of Human Interest, and I'm writing this review in exchange for a $25 gift card incentive, which creates a material conflict of interest as it creates a financial incentive to write a favorable review.

Overall, Human Interest is making my investment journey seamless, especially with my employer running the integration. I can easily manage my 401k contributions and know that my pre-tax dollars are working for me without major oversight.

 ### 39. Exceptional Support and Seamless 401k Integration for Franchise Owners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay M. | Owner & Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

As a new franchise owner in the home care industry, improving employee satisfaction and retention was one of my top priorities. After gathering feedback from both applicants and current employees, a clear trend emerged: they were looking for more employee-sponsored benefits, particularly 401(k) options.

I reached out to several providers and ultimately chose Human Interest for a few key reasons. From my very first conversation, their customer support was exceptional and has remained consistent throughout the process. The entire implementation was smooth—Human Interest seamlessly integrated with my payroll company and bookkeeper, which made everything more efficient. The platform itself is user-friendly, not only for me as the plan administrator but also for our employees.

Additionally, the flexibility and features offered are exactly what we needed, and the pricing is unbeatable. I’m confident this will have a positive impact on both employee retention and overall satisfaction, and I’m glad I chose Human Interest to help us build a strong benefits offering.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I do not have any negatives at this time.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is providing 401k services that help my employees plan for retirement.

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Its easy and I don't have to do much. They system takes care of everything and any tasks I do have to do are simple

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Nothing really. It has been very smooth transitioning

Its integrated into my payroll so I don't have to do a separate payment for 401ks. It also automatically tells me when someone is eligible and communicates with employees directly

 ### 41. Human Interest Support through Challenging Transition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest has made it pretty easy to get support -- I had a challenging transition off my old plan and I could always get access to someone on the customer service team. They even sent reminders when I was behind on my follow-ups to keep the process moving

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The process for the transfer over to HI was very long. I also dislike that there aren't great options for more ethical investments (that avoid Blackrock, Fidelity, and others that fund concentration camps in the US)

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easy to manage retirement for myself and my team

 ### 42. Easy 401(k) Administration With Pricing and Increases that Have Been Tough for Our Small Business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It’s been extremely easy to administer for our company, and it’s also straightforward to navigate as a user. The rollover from my previous IRA was seamless, and the investment options are solid. As the administrator, I get an email notification with every payroll, so I don’t have to go searching for the amounts we need for bookkeeping.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We’re a very small company, and the fees are borderline difficult for us to manage. I’m also unclear why we have to pay the rollover fee every month. On top of that, we’re still paying for past employees, and I wish there were a way to encourage them to roll over their accounts to their new companies. After I talked our company owner into keeping Human Interest and justified the cost, our costs increased, and I’m worried that could keep happening.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had previously offered our employees a SEP IRA but knew that a 401k was a more desirable option so we switched. Unfortunately due to the economy downturn we have downsized and are not hiring in the near future so while our current employees are happy to have it, we can't use it to attract new talent right now.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for sharing this feedback. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 43. Reliable 401k Solutions for Small Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blake P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how reliable and easy to use Human Interest is. The UI is clean, making the user dashboard easy to navigate, especially compared to other financial services websites I've used before. There are plenty of investment options for our employees to choose from, which is impressive. The initial setup was really easy, and they helped throughout the process. As the plan admin, I find the tech very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There isn't a lot of interaction with a rep, but admittedly, we aren't a very large account for them, so if I do need help I try to find it through a help article first.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps manage our 401k plan without a robust HR team. It's reliable, easy to use, and the clean UI makes navigation simple. There are plenty of investment options for employees.

 ### 44. Robust Investment Options, but Customer Service and Go-Live Issues Hurt

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric R. | Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Investment portfolio is quite robust. They offer quite a bit to select which has made my employees feel very comfortable with their platform.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer Service, over reliance with chats, lack of being able to call your representative. We had to really complain loudly to get our conversion done to their portal. they messed up the original go live date and employees could not shelter money on the go live date.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Presently Human Interest is not solving problems and in fact is causing problems. Investment choices while robust are enormously difficult to select.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Eric. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 45. Streamlined 401(k) Solutions with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that everything with Human Interest is pretty much automated, making things quite simple. The process of setting everything up was fairly easy, and most issues I faced came from my previous 401k provider. I find the website very straightforward to use. Even though I can't directly call, I appreciate that I can request a meeting or email and get a quick response from their team.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is one issue I came across with Human Interest, which is the vesting schedule not accounting for our prior three and a half years with another 401k provider. It's being treated as if it's brand new. I haven't had a chance to address this issue as I just discovered it.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest automates everything and makes any changes simple to handle.

 ### 46. Easy Employee Interface and Low Fees, but Limited Investments and Some Support Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The ease of interface for employees is amazing and the low fees are a huge plus.
The integration with Quickbooks was a major factor in both compliance and ongoing support.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It can be difficult to handle questions and to interface with customer support. There isn't as many investment options as some employees would prefer.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps to connect our payroll with our 401k solution, without costing a lot of money and all while making our employee's experience relatively simple.

 ### 47. Effortless Setup and Excellent Employee Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest makes it easy to provide retirement benefits for employees, even though we're a small business. It's very easy to set up, which I appreciate, and from an administrative point of view, it was straightforward. The employees found it fairly easy to establish their accounts, and they reported having an excellent experience utilizing the options available. Additionally, the investment choices available to the employees were robust and sufficient.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Would say the only thing would be to get lower cost.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest enabled us to provide retirement benefits for employees even though we are a small business. It was very easy to set up, and our employees found it easy to establish their accounts with robust and sufficient investment choices.

 ### 48. Effortless 401(k) Management with Great Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghann C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that access is very easy, and the online portal is also very simple to use. It's generally pretty straightforward to get into customer service when there's an issue, without much difficulty. Human Interest is a pretty intuitive program, making it much more easily accessible and customer-facing, especially for our employees. It seems a lot easier for them to access information for their own 401(k). The initial setup was fairly easy as well, with guidance through the transfer process, and all our employees were able to access their accounts without issue.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

No issues.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest lets us manage a combined 401(k) for employees across two companies. It's intuitive and user-friendly, making it easier for employees to access their 401(k) information. The online portal is straightforward, and customer service is easily accessible.

 ### 49. Effortless 401(k) Management with Helpful Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find Human Interest easy for onboarding people, giving them flexible options to manage their personal accounts. The administrator dashboard lets me easily see who's participating and allows me to answer any questions our employees may have. I don't have to spend a lot of time managing our 401(k) benefits because Human Interest does much of the work for me. It's also relatively turnkey, integrating easily with my HR platform and requiring no manual data entry.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Sometimes I feel it's a little difficult to connect directly with a human being if I have any questions or concerns. But in the cases that I have needed to reach out, the customer service reps that have responded to me via chat or email have always been helpful and have been able to answer any problems I had to my satisfaction.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to easily onboard employees to our 401k, giving them low-cost fund options and self-management. It integrates with my HR platform, so I don't manually enter data.

**Official Response from Tarik Covington:**

> Hi there, we are very appreciative of the feedback that you provided. We are glad to see that our platform has been able to support your growth. We aim to make our platform very easy to implement and administer for our customers. Thank you for choosing Human Interest!

 ### 50. Troublesome Onboarding with Potential for Growth

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaclyn R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I liked that at first the onboarding seemed decent. I appreciate the online portal that's easy to separate company from private, especially as a small business because I'm an employee of the company. It makes it easy to differentiate between the company and me as an employee.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I did not like the onboarding process with Human Interest. We were kind of screwed over because they told us we could just stop our SEP IRA plan and start the new 401(k) plan. But a year later, they said we weren't legally allowed to do that. Even though we made all the contributions to the SEP plan in the first half of the year, we were legally obligated to make them again for the 401(k). They had initially totally told us it was fine, and when issues came up, they basically just told us to get a lawyer. Now we're trying to get the right documents and legal help, which is also very difficult. Looking back, I'm very disgruntled.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest automates 401k management and lets employees change contributions themselves, without needing admin involvement. It integrates well with Gusto and Xero, simplifying payment processes.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> Jaclyn, We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you.
