I believe that the tool is great for preventing bots, especially if you are a small team or do not have many engineers. I think one challenge we have faced is answering questions from teams where they have asked why some traffic was blocked when it should not have. The console has good information, but it does not always paint the picture as clearly as we need it. One other challenge is I do not see an integration with terraform. If we could terraform our configurations, it would help us a lot because everything has to be manually set up and we have to document how it is set up. An IaC setup would help us avoid this. Sometimes it's hard to quantify the impact of bot traffic, so the cost of a bot defender could feel steep to some.
