The simplicity of the solution stands out. All aspects of the devices are built for reliability and performance. The support is far better than anything we have experienced before, and it truly sets the bar at a new level.
The installation was a breeze, and the maintenance is just as easy. Performing firmware updates is completely automated as is the validation checking, and it will roll back (although this has never happened) an update if it determines any of the steps have failed. I love the simplicity, ease of use, setup and the no-hassle support with Infosight powered predictive analytics. Renewing support is inexpensive and with the predictive aspect, I get parts and tickets opened without ever even knowing there was a problem.
I received the SAN, unboxed it, and racked it by my self 9it is not light at all just hulked it in) connected it to our switches that handle the ISCSI traffic in our rack and had it configured in Vmware in about 30 minutes. Once I felt confident and had moved over some test servers I went ahead and storage VMotioned over all the remaining production servers. No one was the wiser and I started getting people dropping by my office saying how fast everything was all of a sudden.
This was also the case with upgrading from 4X1Gbps to 2X10Gbps connections. I upgraded the storage controller that was offline and then got is setup, failed over, and upgraded the second controller. Configured everything and confirmed I had data movement across the 10gig network and made the switch, all online in the middle of the day with no issues or outages.
The difference 10 Gig made was witnessed immediately with a reduction of general latency that was already sub 1.5ms on average to sub 0.5 latency.
I also perform Firmware upgrades in the middle of the day, I have done more than 8 with no issues and I get more and more confident in the storage as time goes on. With each firmware update, I usually see a decrease in latency each time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish I could work for Nimble, maybe before the HPE acquisition though. I love HPE but they changed the fun aspect of Nimble slightly. I dislike the changes to the interface that HPE made with the acquisition, I dislike that Infosight is not built into the main GUI but I get why they do it this way. HPE Nimble Storage is an excellent application to share social media details with good managing and transmitting power. It supplies live streaming with remarkable audio/ video conversations. At the same time, web hosting is another beneficial feature to present unique ideas for social actions. All detail is done with amazing skills, and communication is much secure while working on social programs. This application doesn't support the voice quality, and it might not go without earplugs, and then this thing should be solved in upcoming editions. This quality application is hooked on the high-speed internet. There should be no hassle in its working, and a good quality network connection can bring all this. The predictive memory caching really helps in our environment, snapshots encryption and replication for DR were all important factors in the decision making process so as Nimble has all of these features it was easy to select the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much, it's a good product that works well. My only gripe is that before the HPE takeover I found the support to be more helpful, I guess this is because they were only Nimble storage engineers and now that it has been merged into HPE the support guys have to support more than one product but I'm sure in time there subject matter will improve. The purchase price was great and actually cheaper than most competitors but yet I felt like the product was better put together and further along than most of the others.Latency is almost always going to be because of a saturated cache if storage is your bottleneck.
