There are many addon services such as CDN, SSL, malware scanning, which are sometimes available for free with some of the packages. Also, they provide MySQL and also allow you to access the cPanel using windows applications such FileZilla. **What do you dislike about HostMonster?** The user interface is quite difficult to use compared to hosting services such as Bluehost. Hostmonter doesn't support deploying huge applications such as the one which is built using Python, Java, angular etc. Constant PHP version updates sometimes crash the website, and you may need to rework on your website to take it live. If the account gets blocked for malware related issues, it's really difficult to get it work. **Recommendations to others considering HostMonster:** Endurance International owns the HostMonster, the same company that owns Bluehost. You can go for Bluehost and the hosting price and services are much better over there. If you have any affiliate offers or promo codes for HostMonster, then go for HostMonster instead of Bluehost. **What problems is HostMonster solving and how is that benefiting you?** Most of the CMS is available for free, and you can directly install them with one click installation setup. When I have had to contact customer service, they have been very prompt and helpful. Overall, I have been very happy with my experience. Currently, I am using HostMonster in conjunction with WordPress. **What do you dislike about HostMonster?** My hesitance in unilaterally recommending them is that creating a website is not very intuitive. I tried importing something from Woo Designs and it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. There are other plug and play sites that are easier, but they are much more expensive. I also hate how they force you to login to webmail through the dashboard. These are two massive areas they could improve in. They could also offer web tutorials for users who need more time to familiarize themselves. **Recommendations to others considering HostMonster:** Be sure you have the ability to spend a lot of time learning this. Don't expect to hit the ground running unless you have web development background. **What problems is HostMonster solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are utilizing it to provide information about our company to our clientele. When I have a tech issue, I can get a resolution, and they're available 24/7. Not all their reps are great, but most are. For example, I got a rude and unhelpful helpdesk person, but disconnected the chat and was able to resolve the same issue with ease by initiating a new chat session with a new representative. **What do you dislike about HostMonster?** It's not super easy for non-techy people to use. I'm sure there are many features that I have still not figured out how to use in the 3+ years I have been using the product, and sometimes when I get stuck, I need to hire someone to solve issues. It is rare that I need to hire someone at this point, but it happened on a regular basis when I started using HostMonster. **Recommendations to others considering HostMonster:** If you are not a very tech-savvy person, or if you do not have anyone in IT or a virtual assistant, it may be worth it to find someone to help you with some of the set up, especially if you want it to be completed fast. There is help available through Host Monster in the form of DIY materials and the helpdesk, but that is time consuming. All my projects have turned out to be much bigger than initially anticipated. Customer support is knowledgeable and friendly, for the most part. The price is right for the company. I have certainly worked with worse hosting providers, but have also worked with better hosting companies. We recently switched to HostMonster. **What do you dislike about HostMonster?** Our server did go down one day and we were not notified. Fortunately, a vendor we were working with found the issue early on and we were able to notify HostMonster (assuming they didn't know) quickly. They did already know and were working on resolving it, but like I said they didn't (and had no plans to) notify us that it went down, or when it went back up.
