And I never managed to make a backup on an external hard drive, I contacted support (response after 5 days), answer: "impossible in this version" (which is already quite expensive), backup only locally, useless if the server crashes. So I looked for another solution, I found Altaro and since then I only install it at my clients'. I tested both products and my choice quickly decided. Veeam is better. Support at Veeam is very difficult whereas with Altaro you have a response very quickly. A bit difficult to use at the beginning (as all software for the first time) but the support is there and responds quickly to guide us. With Altaro you select the date whose seniority is important (I was able to go back to 6 months of backup on a hard disk of 2TB USB) and the restoration is done quickly and integrates directly into the Hyper-V taking care to disable the network card to avoid IP conflicts. ### 7. This Dashboard let manage all our customers, get up to date the product, create configurations to deploy to the installation. technical support is offered with the utmost professionalism and speed. On those occasions when I needed to address them, the problems have always been solved. Using the wan offsite backup, you can back up multiple customers on the same server and manage everything from a single console. in the last version the continuous data protection has been added which allows to make very frequent backups. **What do you dislike about Hornetsecurity VM Backup?** This product can't backup a physical server but maybe in future it will be possible and in some situations is not needed. In addition, it does an excellent job at incremental backups, so that you can keep a history of your VM's instead of just having a current snapshot. It is very easy to just install the software, or update it and then just set it up under 10 minutes to get your backups rolling. When you first start the sofware it even guides you in the first few crucial steps. The software will ask you to add a licence and then set a backup location and a schedule for all your virtual machines. Once it is done you just need to press "take backup" and wait for the magic to do it's trick. You also have a lot of choice when it comes to where you want to backup your files. It can be on a local drive, usb drive, network drive. You can set an external backup that could be a drive rotation or even set yourself an offsite server to receive the backups at an other location very easily. **What do you dislike about Hornetsecurity VM Backup?** There is nothing that comes to mind as a deal breaker. **Recommendations to others considering Hornetsecurity VM Backup:** I recommend testing it out with a service provider that can get your a monthly license if you aren't sure and want to give it a solid try.
