  ### 13. Jay Bomgardner - Hone Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Hone?**

The two best components when using Hone as a vendor and a product are the customer service and the accessibility. The customer service at Hone is exceptional. With responses within one-business day and tailored responses to very specific asks, you can find nothing better than their customer service team. As for their product, the Hone dashboard and the vast options for asynchronous learning experiences provide optimal avenues to users to freely find courses at their moment of need.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Though Hone provides a vast amount instructor-led courses (around 100), this is the bulk of the asynchronous options you can find in their dashboard. The instructor-led courses are a minimum of one-hour, which may be a hinderous for a vast majority of their users due to work conflicts and prioritization. Hone can improve their user experience by providing more asynchronous learning products such as industry articles, on-demand videos, and more options for people to get content at the moment of need.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is providing our company with content that we use for a nomination-based learning experience where learners are provided a 4-part learning pathways that is tailored to their leadership experience level.

They are our partners, collaborators and they continue to impress with ongoing product development, class offerings, and more. Our employees enjoy utililzing the classes and the admin portal provides us with sufficient data. They are truly customer-centric and effective at listening, assisting, and we enjoy our partnership. **What do you dislike about Hone?**

They continue to provide ongoing classes and offerings for individual contributors.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leadership development, employee development, and team building.

  ### 15. Great and easy to use platform for Leadership Programs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I love that Hone is a user-friendly easy to use platform that makes it simple to leverage for the leadership programs I oversee. Whenever I have a question, customer support is quick to answer and solve it. Overall I am very satisfied with Hone.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I would love to see more course/session offerings in European timezones.

  ### 16. We love Hone!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley K. | HR Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Hone?**

How responsive our designated representative is. He not only helps us if we need something, but is constantly looking at our company usage and how we can improve engagement, and tailor to our specific business needs.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

The only thing that can be slightly inconvenient, is updating employee information if not using an HRIS feed, and even when doing so. (changing reporting manager, title, ending access, etc.) This isn't a deal-breaker by any means, but is a bit more manual in nature. Hone is always there to help take care of these changes for us.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to strengthen professional skills for our employees.

  ### 17. Fantastic array of speakers, topics: invaluable portal for learning and development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | Senior SEO Content Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

It has a very large array of courses, in different time zones/times of the day. With easy scheduling and rescheduling when work meetings come up. It's also really easy to browse, find and discover different courses that might be of interest.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Honestly the only thing I dislike is that I need to make more time in my schedule for learning! Once or twice I've been paired up with people in break out groups where the conversation hasn't exactly been directly beneficial to me personally, but those have been opportunities to practice mentorship, active listening and other skills in those settings. Connecting with people from a variety of contexts and different business backgrounds is very fun and hugely enlightening, even if it doesn't pertain to my everyday.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Consider it! It focuses on the softer skills like people management and active listening, giving you tools and strategies to help you develop and figure out where you need to grow. It's been great and I would highly recommend using it.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone helps us find self-serve training and professional development courses.

  ### 18. Some of THE BEST Management Training!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike W. | QA/RA Team Lead, Medical Devices, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Hone's hands/face-on approach to virtual learning with group breakout sessions.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I have not found anything to dislike about Hone, but if I could choose between in-person and virtual learning, I'll choose in-person each time.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

I'm specifically attending the Hone management classes and it has been amazing, but not in just the content alone. It's also helping me reach other members of my organization, establish relationships with them, and learn who they are, how they manage and lead, and find ways to improve and adapt. As far as training quality goes, it doesn't get any better than Hone's hands/face-on approach to virtual learning with group breakout sessions and a plethora of classes that built on top of each other to give us, the learners, tangible skills and tools needed to not only improve our lives, but the lives of our teammates. Count on Hone to take care of all your training needs!

  ### 19. Great resources for managers to sharpen skills throughout the year

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I liked learning from a live instructor about a topic of my choice. It was great learning a few principles and then breaking off with a peer to discuss them and practice it with a real scenario.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I took 4 classes and some of the concepts were somewhat basic and obvious.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning how to be a better manager and leader inside of my current role.

  ### 20. Consistently Supportive Partner for Personnel Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Hone's platform was seamlessly integrated into our organizational processes. The site itself is intuitive and easy to navigate. Additionally, their library of courses isn't overwhelmingly vast to the point that it's difficult to determine which courses would best suit the skill gaps of your learning cohorts. Our learners have derived significant value in not only developing the skills taught in Hone's classes but also in participating in the breakout sessions.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

While their library of content isn't overwhelming, there are times when I find myself wishing for just a bit more variety in their courses. An added bonus would be to bring some course content customization options to the Hone membership. Lastly, having a few more class dates/times and allow learners to see who within their organization will be attending a specific class iteration would be fantastic.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In mid 2023, I was tasked with the planning, development, and execution of a leadership development strategy for an extremely fast-paced, large company of over 600 people. While we had run leadership development efforts on a smaller scale in the past, this was our first step into rolling out such efforts on an organization-wide level. As soon as I began reading more about Hone's offerings, I knew it would be the perfect match for what we've been looking to achieve. It provided me with a team of experts in the learning and development field who could provide me with guidance at a moment's notice, a library of interactive courses to provide to our leaders, and built-in reporting tools that I could use to get a pulse on our progress.

What was originally going to be a gargantuan task of me designing every aspect of what surely would have been multitudes of classes built from scratch turned into a much more managable initiative that, while still a welcome challenge, isn't quite as big of a mountain for us to climb. Hone is also providing our leaders with high-quality content that has helped our team level-up their power skills and be better leaders overall.

  ### 21. Great resource that is very helpful for employees and managers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I like all the different variety of courses that Hone has available. There is something for everybody on there. It is also very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I don't really have any dislikes. It would be nice to see more courses related to recuriting.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is helping our company be stronger employees/managers.

  ### 22. Impactful learning with a great partner

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Hone has been a great partner to work with. They are responsive, strategic, knowledgeable, and overall easy to collaborate with.
The employee response to programming has been positive.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Reporting functionality is a little clunky

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On demand, live sessions for a growing workforce

  ### 23. Engaging Workshops

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Flexibility on time and engaging. I'd like to be able to cancel or reschedule sessions as well.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Nothing so far..........................

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is an excellent resource for anyone looking to improve their people skills, relationship management, and ability to navigate work relationships. The workshops are well-structured and provide practical insights that can be applied immediately. Whether you're aiming to enhance your leadership abilities or simply want to communicate more effectively with colleagues, Hone offers valuable tools and techniques to help you succeed. The sessions are engaging, and the facilitators are knowledgeable, making it a great investment for personal and professional growth.

  ### 24. Simple yet impactful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Hone has a diverse set of modules you can choose from, and you can pick the best that suits you.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Hone's time schedules may vary, and may have few schedules for Asian countries.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Take lessons that best fits your learning goals, not your comfort zones. Maximize the opportunity to learn more with Hone.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is helping me surface simple yet typically overlooked best practices, such as prioritizing the right work and building high trust. Through these leadership, team management, and project work lessons, I get to apply the best lessons in my own work and see how I can further improve my works.

  ### 25. A unique offering in the learning and development space

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelley B. | Senior Manager of Talent and Culture, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

We RFPed over 25 organizations and had a long list of evaluation criteria. Hone immediately stood out as unique. Their focus on critical people skills, delivered with evidence-based content by world-class, best-in-class coaches, has already helped set our employees up to succeed in today's workplace. Beyond their equitable, continuous access to learning and their dedication to DEI, Hone's membership option and sweet spot of virtual, but live classes is what we like best. They have a high volume of varied classes and a global presence that strengthens our company culture.

Beyond their product, their team is amazing. I've interacted with team members from sales to marketing, customer service, support, strategy and business development. Every team member loves what they do, believes in the impacts of training and only wants to make their product and their customer experience better. You can feel their incredible company culture coming through at every touchpoint.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

There's very little I dislike about Hone and any feedback I've provided, they actually take to heart. I'd say the biggest piece of feedback I have is to offer more classes in timezones that work for our Dublin and Vancouver offices, but I know this is something they're working on.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Seriously consider adding Hone to your mix.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is helping us tackle so many of our training gaps without leaving a single employee out. Their focus on equitable, continuous access to learning is both unique in the L&D space and is truly at the core of their product. It comes through in every conversation I have with them, every class our employees take, their user experience and their continous product innovations.

This year, we're using Hone to train our individual contributors, new and experienced managers and senior leaders in key areas of communication, collaboration, conflict management, feedback, execution, productivity and performance management. Alongside those topics, Hone supports our continuous DEI journey with both dedicated DEI content (that goes beyond education and into action) and with DEI best practices embedded into every class they offer.

After years of having to compromise somewhere within our L&D strategy, Hone really helps us accomplish so much at a reasonable price and incredible value.

  ### 26. Fits into my busy schedule

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I like that there are a variety of class topics.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I wish that there was an easy place to access all of the learner guides.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Take a variety of classes.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is a great resource for career development. I love how easy it is to look through the class catalog and find classes that fit into my workday.

  ### 27. A brilliantly curated learning experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | Content Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Classes are available at different times, I can usually find a time to suit me. And if I sign up to a course and then need to reschedule, it's super easy and self-service to do this in the platform. One of my favourite (and pleasant surprises!) from using Hone has been the breakout rooms – sometimes in classes or courses these can be a bit cringe but I've had brilliant discusssions with really thoughtful people. I've come away encouraged, inspired and feeling refueled to continue learning.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Having said that there are usually times to suit everyone, the times do usually favour American working hours ever so slightly – but this hasn't been too much of a problem for me.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Professional development can be hard to make time for an priortise within a busy working week. Hone makes it easier to find classes fitting my needs and interests and focused areas for development.

  ### 28. Consistent content, delightful customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel C. | Independent Event Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Customer service + flexibility with content- being able to pivot our teachings based on what we need.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Just wish their catalog was a tiny bit broader, and I wish there was a slack integration :)

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Dive deep with your learning consultant and get nerdy with the content!

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building a foundation for leadership- shared language, shared experience, moments of connection and education.

  ### 29. Company loved it!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serena D. | People Operations Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I like that it has a library of resources that we can review later on. We can repeat and revisit curriculum as well. The system is user friendly and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

I don't like the reporting features in Hone. I had a heard time measuring the ROI for the money we spent as it was not a little cost. Would like to see the reporting features built out more.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had new manager training with Hone and our managers loved the training and felt that it was beneficial to their time. The trainings were interactive so managers were engaged and learning.

  ### 30. Great bite-sized continuous learning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carissa D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

The calendar view (what's coming up?), the timeframes (60-90 minute sessions), the user-friendly rescheduling, the slide decks, the variety of topics for learning, the addition of new material for learning

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

The public workshops have been great! Our experience with the private-to-our-organization workshops weren't as valuable — I think our team would have benefitted more from doing those sessions publicly, where their anonymity would have allowed them to be more candid about their work experience (our team is very small: 12 people when we did the small-group sessions). We would have found more value in being able to sign up each of our staff for 12 months of learning.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

To maximize value, consider your ability to support team buy-in and adoption of the program.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Employee lifelong learning that fits within the workday
Benefits: Staff are upgrading their skills, feel supported by the organization to do that, and have the opportunity to learn from other people

  ### 31. User-friendly Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sierra Q. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I love all of the ongoing courses we can leverage in Home, in addition to the courses we sign up for as a company. They're great networking opportunities and the coaches are really thoughtful and engaging.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

It takes a really long time to get things set up with Hone. We meet very often with our account manager and often for an hour or more. Sometimes it feels like the conversations could be completed via email and save some time.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Do it! Hone is a very inviting platform with relevant courses for all audiences. The resources and decks they provide are incredibly useful and great to reference later on.

The customer service is astounding. The teachers are some of the best I have worked with. I appreciate their enthusiasm for our partnership. They have helped our employees growth and development through many facets.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

There is not much to "dislike" about Hone. I would say that as they grow/expand and time goes on, it would be nice to see more administration from Hone, as I have had to run a lot of that on our company's end.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

I would recommend full transparency and honesty with needs as they are very accepting to others' ideas. Ask anything and they will have an answer.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everytime I send Hone a ticket for a business need, I hear back very quickly. I would say over 90% of the time they are able to solve the issue or add a new feature/selection to the platform. It is wonderful!

I would go in open and ready to learn new concepts that Hone can provide so you can have new tools for a new generation of employees.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was having problems learning the new management style, which is highly tailored for Generation Z. It is benefiting me by allowing me to build stronger relationships and trust with my employees and co workers. This will allow future synergy towards growth of our organization.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Hone?**

For first-time managers or newer managers, Hone helps cover some basics. I like that Hone was progressive. The program was not scared to stray from HBR (Havard Business Review) doctrine and some of the tired ol' business techniques. As a millennial, this was attractive to me.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Hone mostly recovers topics that were covered in my graduate program, which was an MBA program. Duke MMCi. This complements my graduate program for covering emotional intelligence and good leadership.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Go in with an open mind, but do not expect it to change your life.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hone is helping to educate business leaders in new and progressive ways to best manage their workforce. It benefits me by giving me tools and heuristics to use in my day-to-day.

**Reviewed by:** Carrissa L. | Customer Service Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**Describe the project or task Hone helped with:**

I was lucky enough to participate in their leadership class that provided tips on building trusting relationships with my direct reports, having high-impact feedback/coaching conversations, and improving the efficiency of my 1v1's. At the end of each weekly course, Hone asked us to commit to choosing what new skill we would like to focus on that week, which made it even easier to start with the newly learned skills right away. Thank you, Hone, for this course!

**What do you like best about Hone?**

Each course was broken down into bite-size topics and provided tools to start implementing right away. The break-out sessions helped us practice with our peers in a safe learning environment.

During the classes, the facilitator was very aware that different people were comfortable communicating in different ways and offered options to share in the Zoom chat or by sharing via verbal discussion.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Everything was great! I did not have anything I disliked.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I feel very connected to my team and have already been practicing a lot of what we discussed. The most valuable part was how to have meaningful 1v1's. This structure is going to bring more efficiency and manage our scheduled time better.

Hone was contracted to help our people managers sharpen their managerial skills, especially the interpersonal skills needed to maintain good manager/employee relationships that benefit everyone involved.

**What do you like best about Hone?**

I felt the subjects covered were a good representation of the skills needed to be an effective people leader.

**What do you dislike about Hone?**

Some of the items were a bit elementary, but our sessions were groups instead of one on one, so I'm sure that played in to the content selections.

**Recommendations to others considering Hone:**

Encourage your participants to come prepared to the sessions with real-life examples of items they want to focus on. It's better to get your coaching in the session and not as food-for-though for them to apply later on their own. The coaches are very valuable in the moment.

**What problems is Hone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly being more intentional with how I lead each person on my team so that I can create mutually beneficial relationships with each one of them.
