## HeyTaco Reviews
 ### 1. Whimsical Taco Emojis That Boosts Team Interactions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Encourages better team interactions through medium of whimsical taco-based emoji

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It's virtual token giving and real world interactions always have more value

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Encourages regular check-ins with the team and is a visible way of sharing appreciating others-

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love “whimsical taco-based emoji” as a description 🌮✨ That might be our new tagline.

You’re absolutely right about one important thing: virtual recognition is not a substitute for real-world interaction. HeyTaco isn’t meant to replace face-to-face appreciation, thoughtful conversations, or meaningful feedback. Those matter deeply.

What it is meant to do is make appreciation more visible and more frequent — especially in remote or hybrid environments where those small “hey, that was awesome” moments can easily go unsaid. It’s lightweight culture support, not a replacement for human connection.

And often, those little taco moments spark the real conversations. A taco in Slack can lead to a follow-up chat, a deeper thank-you, or a stronger relationship.

We’re glad it’s helping encourage regular check-ins and visible appreciation on your team. The tacos may be virtual — but the impact is very human 🌮💛

 ### 2. Great Tool to Spread Positivity in the Workplace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

This tool is extremely user-friendly, and I especially appreciate the rewards feature. However, what I value most about the app is the ability to give colleagues instant kudos. Installation was straightforward, and I find myself using it daily. Although I haven't needed to contact customer support, I have noticed that their updates are frequent and consistently excellent. Really easy to integrate into Slack too!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

There is nothing I can think of! HeyTaco is a great app

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping with recognising great work and interactions!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for this wonderful review — it truly means a lot to us 🌮

We’re thrilled to hear how easy HeyTaco has been to use and how naturally it’s become part of your daily routine in Slack. Instant kudos and in-the-moment recognition are exactly what we aim to make simple.

And on behalf of our customer support team — thank you for the kind words! Even when you don’t need to reach out, it’s great to hear that our updates and improvements are being noticed.

Thanks again for being part of the HeyTaco community and for spreading the appreciation!

 ### 3. Encourages Positive Team Vibes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It helps encourage positive vibes throughout the team.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It’s quite unfortunate that stickers expire.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps create a stronger bond between team members, especially when working remotely. It also provides positive reinforcement, encouraging individuals to support each other.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words! 🌮 Glad HeyTaco is helping your remote team bond and cheer each other on. Quick note on the stickers — good news, they actually don't expire! Feel free to reach out to our support team if you're running into any issues and we'll get it sorted.

 ### 4. Perfect for Recognizing and Appreciating Colleagues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela I. | EMAIL & SMS CAMPAIGN MANAGER, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It helps show appreciation to colleagues

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

limited to 5 only tacos and sometimes if you mistakenly use tacos it will not count

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IT SOLVES THE VALUE OF APPRECIATION TO PEOPLE AND IT HELP US BE MORE PRODUCTIVE

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — we’re glad HeyTaco helps make appreciation visible and meaningful 🌮

The 5-taco daily limit is intentional and helps keep recognition thoughtful rather than automatic. If a taco is ever given by mistake, it still counts toward that daily limit — but the good news is that admins can adjust limits if your team needs more flexibility.

We love hearing that appreciation is helping boost productivity — that’s exactly the impact we hope to create. Thanks again for the feedback!

 ### 5. Great Stickers and Timers, but Too Many Slack Notifications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Political Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I like the sticker feature the most about HeyTaco! The countdown timers on the stickers are super helpful.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I don’t like the extra notifications I get on slack

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco is giving me a way to show my appreciation for my team in an efficient and tangible way! It’s much more fun to send someone a Taco (or five!) if they help you than a slack message saying “Tysm”.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love a good sticker shout-out 🌮✨
And we’re glad the countdown timers are doing their job — a little clarity goes a long way.

Totally hear you on notifications. The good news: you’re in control. You can mute or fine-tune HeyTaco notifications directly in Slack or in your profile in HeyTaco.

We’re also thrilled to hear that tacos make appreciation feel more fun and tangible than a quick “TYSM.” That’s exactly the magic — small moments of gratitude that actually feel good to give and receive.

Thanks for sharing the taco love (or five 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮)!

 ### 6. A Fun Way to Show Coworkers Extra Appreciation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

fun way of showing coworkers and team member extra appreciation!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

There are only a certain numbers of tacos per day!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates a fun way to encourage teamwork and collaboration!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love hearing this — fun and appreciation is our favorite combo 🌮✨
That’s exactly the energy we’re going for.

And yes… the daily taco limit is real 😉
That scarcity is actually by design. A limited number of tacos keeps recognition intentional, meaningful, and human — not something that turns into background noise or a “spray and pray” situation. When tacos are finite, they tend to land harder and mean more.

Thanks for sharing the taco love — may your daily tacos always go to very deserving teammates 🌮💛

 ### 7. Fosters Gratitude and Insight, Wish I Could Use It Even More!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Encourages giving gratitude to your peers and shows that gratitude across our company. Gives me some great insight into how everyone is contributing! Super easy to use as well.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I wish I could give more during the day!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think it helps us keep a positive and motivating company culture. I really enjoy that everyone from the CEO to the newest employee on the team is aware of big wins and how people are showing up for each other.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — we love hearing how HeyTaco makes gratitude visible across your entire company 🌮

And honestly, wanting to give more tacos is a pretty great problem to have 😄 The daily limit helps keep recognition thoughtful, but if your team wants more flexibility, admins can always adjust the daily taco allowance.

We’re so glad it’s helping maintain a positive, motivating culture where everyone — from CEO to new hire — can see and celebrate the wins. Thanks for spreading the taco love!

 ### 8. Love Sending Tacos Right Inside Slack

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love that I can use it within slack which is where I already am all day long

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I think there are ways to use stickers to send more than 5 tacos at a time, but I'm not sure how. I also sometimes get confused on which Slack channels tacos work in

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me quickly and efficiently recognize coworkers without having to navigate to a different tool

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love that HeyTaco lives right inside Slack — that “no extra tool” feeling is very intentional 🌮✨

A couple helpful clarifications that should make things easier:

Stickers + taco limits:
Stickers do not use your daily taco balance. They’re a separate, fun way to give recognition — so you can absolutely spread extra appreciation with stickers without worrying about running out of tacos for the day.

Which channels tacos work in:
If you’re ever unsure where HeyTaco is active, just open a DM with the HeyTaco app and type channels. You’ll see a list of channels where tacos are enabled, and you can quickly get oriented.

We’re glad HeyTaco is helping you recognize teammates quickly and efficiently, right where you already work. Thanks for sharing your experience — and keep the tacos (and stickers!) flowing 🌮✨

 ### 9. Excellent for Team Building

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego G. | Senior Automation Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Team building and rewarding each other during the day

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The Stickers should not go away after a while

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing my team how much I appreceate them

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Diego, thank you for your feedback! Fun news - stickers no longer expire. 🎉 When you unlock a sticker, it is yours until you give it away.

Feedback like yours is how we shape HeyTaco in a tool people love ❤️

 ### 10. HeyTaco made it fun to be helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven B. | QA Automation Engineer, Security and Investigations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2022

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

You can download your data for Tacos Received to see what people give you the most tacos for. This is something I used to figure out what to do more of, because I figured if people gave me tacos for certain actions, they wanted me to do more of those things. It was a way of "voting" for the behaviors they liked.

Beyond the "data" side of things, I really love how it feels to give and receive tacos. Even small gestures can get recognition thanks to HeyTaco, and that's something most tools don't do well. There's always so much focus on giving feedback in a "specific" way, with templates and required core values attached, and it feels impersonal when you have to "force" the format of praise or feedback.

I love HeyTaco because it feels 100% natural and my team loves to give tacos, even when those tacos can't be "cashed in" for anything other than fun and good feelings. It's brought us closer together as a team, and that's priceless. It also brings more awareness to what everyone's doing, which is another big plus!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Nothing! They're fantastic, and they continue to listen to user feedback and raise the bar for fun employee engagement tools.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Lattice for giving praise to team members for the full year that I've been at Immunefi so far. While it certainly does the job and lets us tie our core values to our praise, it lacks a "personal" feel. HeyTaco is not only giving us that "fun" vibe when we give praise, it also adds weight to every "thank-you" and lets us give praise more frequently for smaller things without making the praise seem grandiose or "extra". It's completely turned up the volume on gratitude in our team.

 ### 11. Taco Makes Appreciating Colleagues Fun Taco and Easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel D. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Taco gives you the opportunity to show your appreciation in an incredibly fun way towards your colleagues!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Nothing! Absolutely nothing! There is nothing I don't like with it!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a diverse team and it allows us to show appreciation towards each other in a fun way!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for the love, Miguel! ❤️

 ### 12. Easy, Interactive for Colleagues—But Incentives and Prizes Need a Boost

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Easy use and very interactive for colleagues

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It needs better prizes so my colleagues feel more incentivized to participate.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me motivate my colleagues

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for your feedback! Rewards and prizes are decided by each team, so we always recommend reach out to your HeyTaco admins with feedback about the Taco Shop. And if you don't know who your admins are, please email us at support@heytaco.com, and we can help you out!

 ### 13. Meaningful, Gameified Teammate Recognition That Feels Rewarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Nice to give out recognition to teammates, nice to have it quantified / gameified a little in some way, makes it feel more meaningful with some limits

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It was unclear how it worked at first in terms of giving out tacos and limits.

It also takes a bit to adjust to when/where is appropriate based on company culture.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Morale and recognition

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love that you called out the balance between fun, light gamification, and limits. Those guardrails are very intentional. A little structure helps recognition feel meaningful instead of automatic, which is what gives tacos their impact.

Totally fair on the learning curve at the beginning. There is a rhythm to tacos — how many you have, how often to give them, and what fits your company’s culture. Most teams find that once a few people start modeling the behavior, it clicks quickly and becomes second nature.

And you’re spot on about culture: there’s no single “right” way to use HeyTaco. Some teams celebrate big wins, others focus on everyday help, and many do a mix of both. The flexibility is there so recognition can match your norms, not override them.

We’re glad HeyTaco is helping boost morale and make recognition more visible. Thanks for being part of the taco economy 🌮✨

 ### 14. Great way to connect with remote coworkers.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicola H. | Sr Account Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love that it is an easy way to connect with my coworkers, as a fully remote company. It's a quick and fun way to give public kudos! Extra incentive to give/ receive tacos as well since rewards are earned. Sticker functionality is also fun and a little different!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The only downside I can think of is that I didn't understand the sticker option at first, but I'm sure that's more user error than anything else.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a quick and easy way to give public recognition.

 ### 15. Fun and Engaging Way to Show Your Colleagues Appreciation!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Hey Taco is so fun! This is hands down one of my favorite ways I have seen collaboration/appreciation/and recognition be done at a company. It is also so cute and it really helps create a peer to peer recognition pipeline of colleagues giving each other shout outs!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Honestly, I don't have much negative to say about Hey Taco. Whenever the site does happen to be down for some reason we always get a response so quickly and everything is resolved.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hey Taco is solving our problems of trying to figure out fun ways to recognize and engage your peers at work. It is so easy to give shout outs and so fun to give out tacos everday to people doing great work!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for your review! Glad you are having fun with HeyTaco 🌮 😃

 ### 16. Good team building, but losing stickers is frustrating.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I like the concept of sharing positivity with the team.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I really dislike that they remove stickers after you’ve unlocked them.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good for teambuilding

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for your feedback! You might be happy to know that we have just removed expiration dates from stickers - so no more losing stickers :) Thank you for sharing this feedback with us - it is the main way we know what people using HeyTaco like and dislike, which helps us in making the product better.

 ### 17. A Great Way to Give Kudos to Peers at Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Great way to give kudos to peers at the workplace

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

There are no tangible rewards for tacos anymore

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving props to peers in the workplace is helpful

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for the kudos love! 🌮 On the rewards front — tangible rewards are actually up to each team to set up. If your team used to have them, it's worth checking in with your admin to get them configured again!

 ### 18. Fun way to show gratitude

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco makes it easy to show gratitude to teammates. Even when you can't come up with the perfect words to say thanks, a taco will do!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco has been fun to use so far. I haven't had it for very long, just a couple months, but I try to use it everyday and have had no complaints so far.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing gratitude is really important for relationship building and morale. HeyTaco provides a very visible way to see what other teams are up to and the level of collaboration taking place across the company. This helps me feel secure as an employee that we're fostering a strong company culture in a remote work setting.

 ### 19. Simple, fun, does what it's supposed to!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Provides an extremely easy-to-use and well-integrated way for our team to provide positive feedback to one another and praise for various achievements large and small. Fun to give tacos, fun to receive tacos, love the way you can do it in messages, emojis, etc. A cool little way to add some flair to shout-outs! A fun addition to our Slack.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Nothing specific. I'm not involved in procurement, but has been easy as far as I've seen it!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes it significantly easier - and a bit more fun - for us to provide feedback and praise across our organization! Has definitely increased sense of team and comeradery as a result.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful and enthusiastic review — this truly made our day 🌮

We love hearing that HeyTaco feels easy, fun, and seamlessly part of your Slack conversations. That “in-the-flow” recognition — whether it’s a message, emoji, or full shout-out — is exactly what we hoped would make appreciation feel natural and human, not like another task.

We’re especially glad to hear it’s helped strengthen team connection and camaraderie across your organization. Thanks again for sharing and for spreading the taco-powered positivity!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

The coolest way to reward a fellow team member is through a taco, and the best thinkg I like about it.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Could not think of anything I dislike about this tool

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employee Recognition

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We couldn’t agree more — tacos might just be the coolest way to say “thank you” 🌮
We’re so glad HeyTaco makes it easy (and fun) to reward teammates and celebrate great work. Thanks for sharing the taco love!

 ### 22. User Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate M. | Insurance Broker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

gives extra tacos stickers to send more tacos

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

not enough tacos a day to give out to colleagues , wish it was less expensive for some prizes

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DEI and Incentivization

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback — we’re glad you’re enjoying taco stickers and using them to spread even more appreciation 🌮

Totally hear you on taco limits and prize costs. The cost of prizes (in tacos) is set by each team, so your admins can adjust reward values or add different options if needed. If you’re ever unsure who your admins are or want help exploring changes, just let us know and we’re happy to help.

We also appreciate you calling out DEI and incentivization — making recognition accessible and inclusive for everyone is a big part of what HeyTaco is about.

 ### 23. Fun Way to Show Appreciation, But Lacks Depth in Feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is generally a fun and positive tool for encouraging appreciation in Slack.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

A taco is quick to give but doesn’t always include meaningful feedback or specific recognition, which can limit its value.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many workplaces struggle to make appreciation a regular habit; anniversaries or big wins get acknowledged, but smaller, helpful gestures often go unnoticed. The company highlights that “79% of employees need appreciation, so tacos help in this way.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for this nuanced feedback — we’re glad HeyTaco feels fun and positive in Slack 🌮

You’re absolutely right that the message is what gives a taco its real value. A taco can be quick, but meaningful recognition comes from adding context. One of the most effective ways teams strengthen this habit is by modeling thoughtful messages — when leaders and teammates include specific feedback, it naturally sets the tone for others to follow.

We’re so glad HeyTaco is helping make everyday appreciation more visible — especially for those smaller, often overlooked contributions that truly keep teams moving forward.

 ### 24. Fun Way to Appreciate Coworkers, but Daily Pressure to Give Tacos

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It's a fun way to recognize and appreciate contributions, big and small from coworkers.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Feeling pressure to give tacos daily as sometimes there just isn't a cause to, yet we have 5 x tacos each day that we can distribute.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have only recently joined, and it is the first time I have come across HeyTaco, but I like it so far, and it has already demonstrated it's effectiveness in getting across appreciation amongst coworkers.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — we’re so glad your first experience with HeyTaco has been a positive one 🌮

And just to say: there’s absolutely no expectation to give all your tacos every day. The daily amount is simply the maximum available, not a quota. Recognition is most meaningful when it’s genuine, not forced — some days call for more tacos, and some days don’t, and that’s perfectly okay.

We’re happy to hear it’s already helping appreciation flow among coworkers. Thanks for being part of the taco community!

 ### 25. A great app to reward and motivate great teamwork

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It is a very cool app that allows you to reward colleagues for great work and encourage them to be better at what they do.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

nothing about the app displeases me, it seems fine to me

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many times there is no way to give a true award or recognition to a colleague, and this application is a good way to do it.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for the review! ❤️

 ### 26. Fun way to show appreciation to coworkers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is a well-loved part of company culture where I work. It helps us remember to show appreciation for each other, making our work environment more positive. And the material rewards (redeeming tacos in the Taco Shop) are something I look forward to as I pile up tacos.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Awarding stickers can be a chore, because you have to select all the recipients each time, whether on the HeyTaco site or via the Slack integration.

It would be nice if the site allowed the creation of recipient lists as a shortcut. Then I could create a list with the 5 people on my team and add the list rather than having to add each of my 5 teammates every time I'm giving them a sticker.

Alternatively, in the Slack integration if I could paste plain text into the "Recipients" field of the sticker form, then I could paste my list of teammates rather than typing out and selecting each one. Or it would be even cooler if I could award stickers straight from a Slack message, similar to how tacos are given by tagging people in a message with a taco emoji.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team engagement and cohesion

 ### 27. fun, community-building, and acknowledgement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalinda P. | Software Developer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is a more grassroots way (compared to shout-outs from team leaders) to get everyone's contributions recognized, especially the little things like helping respond to an incident late at night, or giving really insightful replies or a teammate's questions. Thanking someone in a DM feels like I might be annoying them with the interruption, whereas thanking by publicly giving them a taco helps get them the acknowledgement they deserve, and it proves that I really mean it, because I'm using my limited supply of tacos to thank them. Tacos are fun to receive too. Occasionally someone will give me tacos for something and then a bunch of other folks pile on over the course of the day, so I keep getting notified of more tacos coming and I feel very appreciated.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I haven't redeemed most of my tacos, because my company's Taco Shop has a very limited selection and I'm picky.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco helps keep employees emotionally connected during remote work. It also rewards employees for helping each other out, instead of staying focused only on the tasks that are assigned personally to them.

 ### 28. Encourages positivity and fun.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy M. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Being a remote company , Hey Taco gives us a platform to share compliment and get to know each other in a fun way.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

When i try to send one taco to more than one person in one post and I get the Taco reminder

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is keeping us communicating in a positive way. Since we are remote, most of us have never met and this give us more reasons to chat.

 ### 29. Perfect Solution for Remote Team Collaboration

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

It's a great way to interact with your team when it can be difficult to working in a remote environment! It's just very easy to use as well!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I don't dislike anything about it. It's very easy to use.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making our team interact more with each other which is great because it's easy to not interact in a remote environment.

 ### 31. Great way to build a culture of appreciation and gratitude

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakesh A. | Founder, CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It's a fun, unusual and memorable way for people at our company to appreciate one another. And providing this has built a culture of gratitude at our company. The technology itself is pretty simple both to setup and to use.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

At one of companies, we use HeyTaco in full force because we use Slack. At my other company, we use Google Chat and HeyTaco is getting built out on this platform so it doesn't have all the features. But their team tells me that they are all coming soon!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us build a culture of gratitude. And it also creates an awareness of good work happening at the company -- which is important not just for the company where the team is all remote but even for the 750 company that's spread out across a 50 acre campus.

 ### 32. Unexpectedly engaging

It is a quick and easy way to show recognition and celebrate teammates. Initially I thought it might be cheesy, but when you are able to acknowledge more wins throughout the organizattion, they quickly become meaningful.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I can't think of anything that I dislike.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a leader and cross-functional collaborator, I can show recognition immediately with someting that goes to a tangible reward. Sometimes words just arent' enough.

It keeps things interactive and it really helps team building.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Nothing, I really like HeyTaco, I would advise all companies to use it.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work full remote, so for me it really brought me closer to the whole team. It keeps things fun and we can bond with each other.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for this — we love hearing how HeyTaco keeps things interactive and supports real team building 🌮

Hearing that it’s helped you feel closer to your team while working fully remote means a lot to us. Creating those moments of connection and shared celebration — even when people aren’t in the same place — is exactly why HeyTaco exists.

Thanks again for the kind words and for recommending HeyTaco to others. We’re grateful to be part of your team’s day-to-day!

 ### 34. Hey Taco for Quick Team Building

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Easy to Implement and Use from Day One. This feature allows team members to give shout outs without flooding the corporate inbox. This is a positive channel in everyone's slack day to reachout from a remote team and thank others for help for the day.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

We have not found anything we dont like about Tacos!!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is helping to solve a personal touch to remote team members

 ### 35. Great tool to boost team morale & get rewarded!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anusha S. | Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Being able to show my gratitude with tacos when colleagues help me out with a task, or shout out colleagues for excellent work! The platform is easy to use and it's clear how to earn/spend/give tacos. I use it every day :)

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I'd love if it was possible to get gift cards instead of virtual debit cards, as they can't be used to part-pay for items online which can make them difficult to use as most things I buy are online. Would also be good to be able to claim your vouchers yourself instead of having to go through manager approval, and be able to unlock more stickers where 1 or 2 people are given 3+ tacos.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gratitude to my colleagues + recognising great work. Also works as an extra employee perk/cash benefit!

 ### 36. Fun and Enjoyable Collab App!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ralph E. | Implementation Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco promotes collaboration and appreciation, especially during Remote Work. This gives a sense of importance and uplifts the well-being of a person, with the perks of having perks for the tacos received.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Not that I dislike, but I would suggest offering more choices when redeeming rewards in the shop. :)

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This solves the issue of offering rewards for recognitions.

 ### 37. HeyTaco is so fun.

What it is: A playful, taco-themed peer recognition tool that integrates directly with Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Chat. Teams use virtual “tacos” to recognize one another in real time.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Limited customization and reporting depth — users have reported wanting more comprehensive analytics and flexible reward options, especially for larger organizations

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

 ### 38. Great incentive program

I don't have any issues with HeyTaco. It's easy to use and I use it for one very basic purpose.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as a great way to pat each other on the back and say thanks for a job well done! I see people giving each other tacos all the time, it's very wholesome.

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

game-able, in that 2 coworkers could just give each other tacos every day

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i'm not sure that it solves anything but it is a nice to have

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for the honest feedback — we really appreciate you sharing it 🌮💛

We’re glad to hear HeyTaco has given morale a boost, even if it feels subtle. Those small, steady lifts are often where recognition has the biggest long-term impact.

On the concern about it being “game-able”: that’s a fair question, and it’s something we’ve designed around intentionally. A few things help keep tacos meaningful rather than transactional:

Daily taco limits cap how much any one person can give, which naturally prevents runaway exchanges.

Giving matters more than receiving. We emphasize recognition as a habit of lifting others up, not as a score to maximize.

Public visibility creates social context. Because tacos are given openly, patterns tend to self-correct — recognition that feels hollow usually stands out.

Culture sets the tone. Teams that talk about why tacos are given (helpfulness, collaboration, values) see far less “back-and-forth gaming” and more thoughtful use.

You’re also right that HeyTaco is a “nice to have” — and that’s very intentional. It’s not meant to replace performance systems or formal feedback. It’s lightweight culture infrastructure: small moments of appreciation that, over time, make work feel more human.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective. Feedback like this helps teams use HeyTaco more thoughtfully — and helps us keep improving it 🌮✨

 ### 40. Taco Time for Work environment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | SDR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

In a remote setting this is by far the best way to promote a team atmosphere. It is very easy to use and fun to use everyday. Wish we had more tacos to give!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The prizes aand rewards are quite diificult to reach however if you can save up enough tacos then i guess you can redeem.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us an amazing team atmosphere, Being able to recognize accomplishments by each and evry team member for all the different things they do as an integral part of the company.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving an unpaid work employee recognition problem

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — we love hearing that recognition in HeyTaco feels meaningful, especially for work that often goes unseen 🌮

Totally hear you on the daily taco limit. The number of tacos you can give is set by your team’s admins, so if you’d like to go back to giving 5, they can adjust that at any time. And if you’re not sure who your admins are, feel free to reach out and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!

HeyTaco helps solve the problem of underappreciation in remote or hybrid work environments. It creates a light, consistent way to recognize teammates, making everyone feel valued. This has improved morale, boosted team connection, and made celebrating everyday efforts part of our culture.

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It's a little silly. You can't see what you can earn. Stickers are not very motivating.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Peer Recognition

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback! We’re glad HeyTaco makes it easy to recognize coworkers and support peer-to-peer appreciation. The playful, slightly silly side is intentional—it helps lower the barrier to saying thank you and keeps recognition feeling human, not transactional. We appreciate you calling out what does (and doesn’t) motivate you, and we’ll keep that in mind as we continue evolving the experience. 🌮

 ### 48. Amazing Way to Cheer On Teammates and Reward Success!

Thanks for spreading the positivity and championing great work on your team!

 ### 49. Fun way to share kudos at the office!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom S. | Growth Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

This has been a great tool at our office to share kudos on a daily basis. It's thoughtful, and with only three a day, really makes you focus on what's best. Very easy to implement as well into Slack.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The rewards process is a little clunky and the double alerts from the Slack integration are a bit annoying at times. You can fix that.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving us a fun and easy way to share kudos with teammates.

 ### 50. It's fun & valuable in remembering your coworkers' accomplishments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I like being able to give kudos to people, and for those kudos to be redeemed in the 'Taco Shop'

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The one bug where you give multiple tacos within one message to give one taco to each person, HeyTaco thinks you are trying to give 9 when you only mention 3 so this 3x3 is not intuitive to understand.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving bad habit of focusing too much on your own work and forgetting how it fits in with what other people are doing.
