## About HeyMarvin
HeyMarvin is the #1 AI-native customer insights platform. Teams use HeyMarvin to turn scattered customer knowledge into shared understanding the whole company can act on. Most companies are sitting on years of valuable user research, brand studies, market data, and customer feedback buried in folders, decks, and disconnected tools. ## HeyMarvin Reviews
  ### 1. Great for research and evaluation teams of any maturity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps automate many of the tedious parts of qualitative research that prevent teams from using their brainpower on meaningful analysis. I particularly like the ability to invite the transcription bot to meetings (including scheduling it ahead of time), built-in discussion guides, and the auto-notes feature. There is minimum clean-up required on the transcript and jumping into tagging and analysis is easy. Getting Marvin set up was easy and I appreciated the customized onboarding that their customer success team provided.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is a bit more expensive than other repository platforms, but it also is feature-rich. Also, the auto-notes can sometimes come out a little wonky and require some QA to either delete irrelevant ones or revise incomplete notes. I do wish they had the option of numbering discussion guides in some way for easier reference, so I hope this is a future feature.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us transcribe user interviews and store them for analysis.

  ### 2. Solid tool for UX interview analysis.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zeke K. | UX Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I typically use Marvin when I want to analyze my harder/longer interviews. It does a great job with transcription, summary, most used words, etc in a way that is much easier than going to ChatGPT each time. I really love the notes feature when watching back interviews and timestamping moments to share with the team. Easy to use and worth trying out as a UX designer or researcher. Google integration is a plus.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The 5 files a month are limiting for the free plan. Hoping to upgrade at some point to unlock full use as we typically do ~30 interviews amonth.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin has solved trying to organize my research as well as offering insights I may have missed/could forget in the future. Essentially it speeds up how much research I can do.

  ### 3. Best AI User Research Tool Currently on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor J. | Human Resources Intern, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Simple to use with a bunch of Integrations to all of the main data collection application. Their tagging feature's are useful but their GenAI feature set is what really stands out! Lots of prebuilt features and ability to create your own prompts. They also passed Microsoft's security and privacy requirements so they will probably pass yours!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

No complaints specific to them. Transcripts can always be better, integrations less buggy, etc. But that's with any software of it's kind.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Executing quick thematic analyses.

  ### 4. Amazing product, and only improving from here

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumer S. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The AI insights and ability to shorten to TTD for all research projects.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Bulk file management, for example, renaiming a big list of interviews by certain conventions.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for fast analysis of a large repository of interviews and other user research. If it could help more with quant analysis that would be perfect, but it's AI insights are stellar.

  ### 5. Great tool for research repository

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bianca A. | Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I met Marvin during a research event and fell in love at first sight. The interface is inviting and easy to learn. The AI and tagging features that help save time in analysis, as well as being very easy to organize all the research findings.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The price - unfortunately for a Brazilian team, it's very difficult to scale the tool to all possible users.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organize research findings and scale access across the company. As well as making it easier to analyze searches with auto-notes and tagging.

  ### 6. Marvin: The Game-Changer for Data Analysis and Client Success!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've been using Marvin for over 8 months, and honestly, I can't imagine returning to the "old way" of analyzing and synthesizing qualitative data. It's also become a valuable asset that makes my company even more compelling to clients.

The platform has significantly enhanced my efficiency in analysis and reporting. I appreciate the ability to quickly access key themes and insights using the Auto Analysis tools. The Quantified Thematic Analysis tool was particularly effective in securing a new client, who mentioned that having these themes readily available in the topline report saved his team hours during their new product workshop.

I've also been able to quickly develop personas, which has wowed a couple of my ad agency clients, who reported it saved them precious hours.

Being able to interrogate the data is fantastic and saves time (and my sanity) versus poring through transcripts and spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

A couple of minor, glitchy things have happened but customer/tech support is responsive and issues are generally resolved quickly.

The overall AI accuracy is about 75-80%, which is great compared to other platforms I've tried and is likely to improve with time.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In market research, time is of the essence, and I love Marvin allows my small team and I to get feedback and insights to our clients more quickly. It also saves on having to get seperate transcripts when needed--the ML transcripts are shockingly good.

  ### 7. Marvin was a gamechanger for my business!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Masharika P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin's platform is quite intuitive. I am not a qualitative researcher by formal training, but the ways in which I'm able to collect, analyze, and synthesize data allow me to engage with large data sets with ease and confidence. Their staff are also very accessible in the event that questions arise. The AI features are also quite useful. Lastly, their capacity to engage with a multitude of languages is very helpful in an increasingly global/multilingual context.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I am struggling to find something that I dislike about the platform.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin enables me to understand the experiences of people that I interview in an aggregate manner.

  ### 8. The best tool i found to transcribe and place all my research findings and documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo V. | Mid level UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's transcribing features are way better than Dovetail's one. I love the IA generated insights and notes, and the possibility to share insights with non users, like my stakeholders. It's pretty easy to use, you can start running in a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

On the free plan, you can upload only 5 documents per month, wich is a pretty low number. You cannot update a document you uploaded, so when I have new responses on my recurrent survey, I need to delete the old one and upload it on Marvin again.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having one single place to place and search all my research findings, and sharing it with stakeholders

  ### 9. Amazing platform to document and analyse research data˜

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitsya D. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I absolutelly love the search repository feature with AI technology. You can simply post your research insights in marvin and ask anything to it and it gives you a full analysis on what the team have so far in data. Also is great trascriptor for interviews! I also love the feature of tagging the interview trasncript directly connected with the research questions. It helps a lot the anlysis afterwards. Another great feature from Marvin is the capacity of analysing with AI the results of quantitative studies like surveys.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin could improve the canva board the in the analysis section with more features, like Miro and Dovetail. It makes a lot easier to group tagged narratives around. Also miss a feature in the AI survey analysis: When you have open answered questions, it does not translate them to english in case the users speaks a foreign language.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to speed up the analysis process and amazing tool for finding answers for research questions in the insight section since it has an AI technology that works like a ChatGPT but the data is all the insights we have docummented, and it does automatic analysis based on all researches

  ### 10. Marvin makes it so easy to get research insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

AI notes, automatic tagging, and being able to prompt specific write ups.
Also super easy to share clips via a link.
I previously used Dovetail and think Marvin is better in a few key areas.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes the AI Tagging can go overboard and tag stuff irrelevant which can take a while to undo.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User interview analysis, tagging, and sharing.
I can prompt it to find user pain points, needs, and desires, and it does a decent jobs at listing these out.

  ### 11. Marvin is the tool that makes research and analysis easier through AI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy K. | UX Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's brilliant at summarising transcripts and presenting key insights from interviews, surveys and other documents like PDFs.

Another great feature is its ability to livestream interviews to other guests, which is really helpful for involving key stakeholders.

I also like that there's areas to present the output of research insights as well as store the inputs of the research process.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The trickiest thing is the learning curve. Marvin seems to have a point of view about how you should present and store data, but it's not entirely clear if you're operating against it's POV.

An example of this pain point I have is in the tagging taxonomy. It looks like it wants you to only use this at the file level for segmentation, and not thematic tagging, though thematic tagging feels intuitive to me at that level.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us to efficiently analyze research. It also presents a way of storing both the inputs and outputs of that research.

  ### 12. Marvin experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandra F. | UX Researcger, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

What I love most about Marvin is how it allows me to unify all my information in one place. Its various functionalities make the process of analyzing and storing information much easier. Tasks that used to take me five hours now only take one.

Its artificial intelligence functionalities are quite comprehensive and accurate. They allow for analysis from different perspectives by gathering information from various sources.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One specific thing I don't like is that the process for uploading surveys is somewhat manual. The questions need to be in a specific format, and it would be more practical if it offered integration with platforms like Typeform and Maze. However, once the information is uploaded, the analysis provided is very comprehensive and useful.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It primarily saves us time in analyzing interviews and helps consolidate all the information scattered across different places.

  ### 13. A product designer's best friend for research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love using Marvin to collect and synthesize my customer research. In the past I would spend hours going through transcripts, creating notes, and organizing them in a digestible format for my team. Marvin does all of this for me with its AI functionality. The AI is accurate, and saves me so much time that I can now spend on more important aspects of the work that I do. Marvin also integrates with all of the tools I use, which creates a seamless workflow and research engine.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The Marvin UI is straightforward for the most part, but there are levels of navigation that get confusing to go between sometimes.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin synthesizes my research for me, which saves me a lot of time.

  ### 14. Incredible platform for researchers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love the cross analysis feature with AI that allows you to search for patterns, common themes or even create your own prompt to discover insights and useful information across different research instruments like interviews and surveys.
I also think that the research repository is super useful for communicating and finding research results, allowing different teams to be aligned.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I don't think there's much I dislike about Marvin, but I do think their architecture could be improved , sometimes you have to spend a little time finding your projects and the documents inside when they are not tagged.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping me to organize better and to deliver research results way faster than before, it's a tool that really improves how you spend your time and the analysis process.

  ### 15. Transformative Product for Design Thinkers and UX Consultants

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex J. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin's ability to take voice recordings of interviews and create incredibly accurate insights report is next level! It has saved me so much time and I really can't imagine going back to my old way of handwriting notes, transcribing, and then summarizing it into an insights report. Marvin has quadrupled our team capacity for user research.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Unable to pay month to month - as a small business it was difficult to find the cash to pay for the product for a whole year, especially as a seasonal industry.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing an insights report based on aggregated user interviews, white papers, best practice research, and internal documents. It allows us to keep all of our project research in one place and draw conclusions on our whole library of assets.

  ### 16. Easy, fast and a great Research companion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin makes the research process a lot easier than it was.

With Marvin you cant take notes, record your interviews, tag them and analyze them. That really makes any research plan easier and faster.

The thing I like the most is the Ask AI feature, because it allows you to summarize, search and find patterns in your surveys and interviews. This feature also helps to socialize the results with other teams because they can ask any question they have in a natural language and recieve useful information based on the insights you have from diverse projects.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

When you are working a lot with Marvin it can freeze, and you can't use the ask AI feature for a set of interviews, it only works with insights and individual tests.

Also, sometimes it can be hard to understand the information architecture of the site.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping me to solve timing issues, qualitative and quantitative data analysis in a faster, easier and complete way and the most important issue we have, research results socialization.

  ### 17. Solves some of my biggest problems as a UX Researcher

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mindy H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

My least favorite part of my job is rewatching user interviews to take notes & tag insights. Marvin basically makes this process obsolete.

If you do your user interviews through Marvin, it takes notes for you (and also lets you take timestamped notes during the interview as well). If you prefer to import your interview recordings later, it generates a transcript and a summary. It can also tag insights for you (and tag labels are nested!! which I love).

I work in a very niche field, so I'm used to manually inputting a lot of custom lingo into AI transcript generators. I was astonished at how accurate Marvin's transcript was without me giving it any context or lingo to rely on. The summary it provides is also super detailed and accurate.

Combined with the ability to ask Marvin questions - for example, what the user said about a specific feature - it becomes incredibly easy to do both general analysis of a research session & to pull out any specific nuggets you're looking for.

It's also got some great features around protecting PII & deeper analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I don't like their subscription tiers. The free tier isn't practically usable as it only allows for 5 files per month. That would let you do a single five-participant usability study per month - not even a survey or an NPS - and if that's all the research you're doing, you don't really need a time-saving tool like Marvin anyway.

The next tier up - billed at "good for startups" - charges per user & has a minimum of 5 users. I don't know any startups (including mine) that have 5 employees who would need a tool like this. Most are lucky to have one.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding insights from user feedback

  ### 18. Marvin = Tool for Researcher Peace of Mind!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I don't have to worry about catching every word in client interviews anymore because Marvin captures it all. It is so easy to skim or search Marvin transcripts to find exactly what you need. One of my favorite Marvin features is the ability to share research snippets with Product, Design, and Dev teams. I not only regularly slack snippets to my team, but all my deliverables include countless Marvin references. I also love their Figjam integration for pulling in Marvin notes for affinity clustering. Their new AI features are also pretty slick when used wisely. It truly shows that this product has been developed by researchers, as their new feature developments are always on point.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I don't use their in app synthesis features much as I prefer working visually in Figjam when sorting through notes and feedback (Luckily they have a great Figjam integration feature though).

The AI summary notes per transcript aren't always good (hoping they will improve over time), but I do love having the ability to use the Ask Marvin AI feature for things like "Tell me all the time customers mentioned xyz" or "Has the team done any research on topic abc", etc.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me take notes during research sessions, quickly review research sessions, ensures the accuracy of my understanding of points covered in my reesarch sessions, share research clips with teammates, provide supporting evidence throughout my research deliverables, and search prior research projects.

  ### 19. HeyMarvin is a game changer for user research!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love Marvin!! He's my new best friend! This application has completely changed my life as a user experience design and research practitioneer. I've been in the field for over 20 years, and Marvin is the single most important application I use for faciliating the recording of research sessions, consolidating feedback and providing insights across user sessions for analysis. In addition, I use Marvin heavily for examining NPS and product satisfaction data collected in user surveys. I am able to share out my findings with the wider organization and highlight areas where improvments could be made and uncover areas where improvments have been made and users are acknowledging the improvements.

The Marvin team is outstanding. They are always available to help and explain the features and benefits of the application when I require assistance.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Simply that it cannot cover additional use cases for data consolidation as an integration does not exist. It is fantastic for what it can do.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is solving the problem of consolidating user research sessions and providing a thorough and insightful output that can be leveraged in presentations to my organization.

  ### 20. A Researcher's Dream Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Summer S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is an amazing comprehensive tool! I have worked at companies where we have used confluence and dovetail as repositories and nothing compares! The way you are able to store data is really organized and clear. There's a separate view for stakeholders to view reports without getting into the weeds of the research material. You can tag and label data. You can analyze data in different ways that make sense to you. Create small insights or large reports. The AI functionality is great! You can generate summaries on your data based on emotion or themes. You can use it to search for what you need cross-projects. You can also use Marvin to record your interviews or meetings and analyze the feedback directly in the tool. Its such a game changer. The people that work there are so helpful too. They respond to all my questions and even listen to suggestions! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MARVIN!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I have no complaints! Seriously an amazing tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Store and organize our data

Analyze feedback

Share finding with stakeholders

Use for surveys, unmoderated and moderated tests

  ### 21. The best research tool I've ever used. It speeds up notes, analysis, and synthesis.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Auto Notes, Auto-Analysis, and Ask AI features allow me to skip tedious tasks and get answers faster.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

No dislikes at the moment. It could benefit from more integrations with other research tools.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing user feedback data in interviews, surveys, support tickets, and sales calls.

  ### 22. Great UX Research Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cindy L. | Sr. PM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The auto transcript is great! The tool also makes it super easy to record, organize, and take notes too. I love it.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think the AI sentiment analysis, etc is useful but perhaps too generic right now.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capturing user feedback in a non-messaging/thread kind of way. Really leveling up our user research game.

  ### 23. This is my research secret weapon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hillary W. | Lead | Insights and Product Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

There are so many things to love about Marvin compared to any other qual research tool out there right now. I still believe the #1 best feature of Marvin is live notes - this alone cuts my research time by so much because I can easily bookmark quotes to come back to, label quotes, and link questions. I have gotten very speedy with labels during interview and love it - it saves me so much time. The other automations and transcripts are top notch, save time, and work for a good variety of accents. #2 The AI features--particularly the 'ask AI a question'--are getting better. Marvin integrates AI better than any other tool I've seen in the research market - I like their prompting approach because I can develop and write my own insights and it will pull quotes that support or don't - it allows me to do the higher level synthesis and use AI as an assistant to dot my i's, get representative quotes, and check my bias (I find all AI summaries to be low quality, not their fault, so the prompting is game changing. I can't wait until they enable the conversation feature they've been talking about). The way it formats the AI answers, gives you direct quotes (if you ask it to in prompting), lets you know from which interviews and where the information came, and allows you to follow it all back to the source material is *chefs kiss*. Still, though, I find my own synthesis beats the AI, especially on the more complicated stuff, needing to understand context, and when how someone says something is as important as what they say. #3 the PII features - I love that with the click of a button it will bleep PII, blur faces, garble voices. This is going to be such a game changer for any healthcare research.

My org had a few issues getting started and their customer support handled everything so fast, it was amazing.

You know how you never have enough time for true generative research and synthesis? Marvin helps you do the boring mundane stuff so you can focus on greatness and impact.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is still growing and adding features. So anything I "dislike" is really just things I hope they add or consider in the future. Some features I hope to see are: 1) less of a priority on the AI, especially during the live tagging. I basically never want AI to summarize anything, let alone a few sentences. AI has its place but the tool is very AI-forward in a way that becomes clunky and annoying for the user. I fully anticipate once the hype dies down, they'll figure out a good balance - hopefully by relying on Ask AI and taking it out elsewhere. 2) Separate "question" labeling from the hashtag labels/notes when in the live tagging mode - so one person can link the question to the answer AND ALSO live label/note. Right now it only allows one type of label/note at a time (perhaps unless you want the entire answer to have the same label/note). 3) more easily being able to tag/remove labels from analysis view - there's still some clunkiness if you don't follow exactly what Marvin expects to be your order of operations. I wish it was easier to add/edit labels from any view without going a few clicks in. 4) AI being able to distinguish between people types (especially if you labelled them as such) to get better targeted insights. Right now Ask AI uses your entire dataset and does not appear to understand that people are different.

No matter, though, Marvin is so far ahead of its competition and they are so quick to add more things, I cannot recommend it more.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps speed up the mundane parts of research so you can spend your time on the synthesis and creating impact. Live notes and tagging is game changing. The Ask AI is a great research assistant. I can do my work faster, better (because I have more time to spend on the good parts), and with less administrative-type annoyance (downloading and uploading videos, de-identifying research, etc.)

marvin is helping me to keep track of my data in a structed way

  ### 26. One of the tools that really stands out in the research repository space

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alson D. | Senior Design Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Depending on the plan that you choose, you get easy access to Support and Onboarding. Also has a good trial period that can be extended, giving you a taste of everything that the platform has to offer.

The one thing that really stands out is the ability to ask for anything (question, data, etc.) and the system will sumarize it for you with links to take you to the source directly.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One can only truly make the most of it when on the Enterprice plan.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing designers and product managers to access the information as and when needed thus reducing the time to insight. It also helps reduce the manual tasks of upaloding views and trascripts by just summarizing the main takeaways from each interview/call or converation.

  ### 27. Exactly what we were looking for and much more

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liza L. | Senior Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

At our company, we sought a tool to centralize and streamline our research operations while establishing a global knowledge repository. Marvin not only met all our requirements but also exceeded our expectations by offering more. It enables us to conduct live interviews, eliminating the need for a notetaker role and significantly enhancing efficiency by using the superior AI features.

Marvin is an all-in-one solution. Its AI features, which include automatic analysis and the ability to respond to any question, are truly exceptional. They empower designers and researchers to concentrate on tasks that genuinely require their attention, by maximizing the value they bring to their roles by automating boring tasks.

It goes without saying that the support we received from the team during the onboarding sessions was excellent.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The survey analysis tool within the platform is not flawless at the moment, the team is highly responsive to feedback. I am confident that it will soon evolve into another valuable component.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is both a live interview tool and a research repository for us. It supports us in conducting new user testing sessions and conduct the analysis of existing ones. On top of that, currently, we intend to utilize the tool as a data lake to ensure that all qualitative research insights are easily accessible for designers and researchers globally.

  ### 28. Great partner for research

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It makes really easy to organize insights and build a comprehensive repository. It has a variety of features that make my life as a researcher easier and happier.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

It can be complex to navigate and its learning curve can be steep. There is information that you would expect to see in a single point of the experience, but it is distributed accross diferent screens.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps me transcribe my research in real time, which is a great problem when conducting interviews. It saves time by providing tags and discussion guides, which advances my analysis.

  ### 29. Makes analysis seamless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ren S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I don't know how anyone does user research without Marvin's help. Being able to skim as I scroll through the transcription makes locating a particular quote or refreshing my memory so easy, and in much less time than listening through again. I can click in and listen to just a set part of the interview, and easily copy-paste out the transcript. It's easy to record in the moment by inviting the notetaker, or to input videos after the fact. Pulling video clips is easy as well. I use Marvin on every interview.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I haven't used some of the tagging features, as we do synthesis outside of the platform.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Locating all of our videos in one place and pulling clips from them (as opposed to our clunky internal video conferencing repository), as well as transcript analysis and pulling quotes.

  ### 30. Very helpful for getting quotes from transcripts

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

The AI search functionality makes it really easy to search through transcripts for quotes or where a certain question was asked and what was the participant's response. Its certainly saved me a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

It doesnt work well on FireFox browser, it works best on Chrome.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me a lot of time in summarizing the results from interview transcripts

  ### 31. Documentation, research, repository and validation. All in one place.

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The ability to tag, share and compile data. It not only saves me time but also allows me to rely entirely on my data to defend my decisions.
Since Marvin provides a robust structure where any type of data can be easily organized and, its possible to everyone and anyone at your company, understand what you're doing and why you're doing. Utilizing Marvin was a life changer for me and I don't state this lightly.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Besides the loading, I have nothing do complain.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowed me to inverview internal/external users and stakeholders so I could cross the data found here with every other research done (desk) and converge the study into a clear, tangile and valuable path of direction/decision making.

  ### 32. Elevating our Research Practice with Marvin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wes H. | Photographer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The UX is straightforward to use. Even though we are just in our onboarding phase, the team has been approachable and incredibly supportive. I love that Marvin focuses on a key few areas to really focus and drive home their expertise instead of promoting an all-in-one solution. Really excited for our future with Marvin!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Additional integrations into our CRM would be useful. Additionally, it allows for webhook event triggers to better work with the automation we have in place. But still works regardless of these items!

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While we are just onboarding and getting our feet wet - Marvin has already unlocked efficiency gains for our team. Our research has become even more accessible than before.

While Marvin excels in many aspects, the absence of APIs is a minor inconvenience. It doesn't hinder our current usage, but the addition of APIs would undoubtedly elevate the tool's functionality.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin serves as a centralized, flexible, and powerful User Research Repository, streamlining our research workflow. It acts as an organized and scalable tool for interviews, note-taking, and analysis. **Reviewed by:** Erick R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's fantastic to learn that Marvin has become an indispensable tool for your research and analysis endeavors. The incorporation of AI, particularly the ChatGPT-like search feature, appears to have significantly elevated the tool's capabilities, enabling your team to draw more impactful insights and generate meaningful recommendations.

The recent enhancement of Marvin's repository functionalities, with features akin to ChatGPT search, is commendable. This advancement not only facilitates more effective linking of direct quotes and events from research sessions to insights but also allows for thematic analyses across various research sessions and even multiple projects, thereby enriching the depth and breadth of your findings.

The responsiveness of the Marvin team to your feedback is a positive indicator of their commitment to refining and optimizing the product based on user needs. The fact that they have swiftly implemented requested functionalities in less than a year of your subscription underscores their dedication to delivering a product that evolves in tandem with user requirements.

Maintaining an open line of communication with the Marvin team can prove beneficial as you continue to utilize the tool. Providing ongoing insights and suggestions will likely contribute to further refinements and innovations, ensuring that Marvin remains a valuable asset that aligns with your team's ever-changing needs.

The success story of Marvin exemplifies the transformative impact of AI-driven tools in simplifying and enhancing complex tasks like research analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

At times, the transcription quality may fluctuate, necessitating manual adjustments to fully harness the capabilities of AI. While the live note-taking feature is beneficial, I would appreciate the ability to simultaneously take my own live notes alongside the AI-generated notes.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin enhances the rigor of our research analyses by simplifying the process of capturing, tagging, and organizing all our research notes. It facilitates the identification of themes within these notes. Additionally, the AI-powered repository tool significantly amplifies the impact of our research efforts.

  ### 35. Cuts our analysis time in half and super user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has a fantastic AI tool which themes up and cuts down your analysis time. The tool is great to get a quick snapshot of your data but the additional tools to interrogate further are also great. Labeling and tagging your insights makes the experience super user friendly particularly with large data sets.

They are constantly improving the platform so expect to see changes over time!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Video editing tool - the tool isn't like a traditional video editing tool which is fine, but would love to be able to create show reels as I would be able to in imovie etc.

Dubbing and subtitling foreign languages - this is in the works (so I'm told) so I'm excited to see when this becomes part of the offering! We currently use another provider for this so would love to see this be integrated into one solution

There are some challenges in the transcribing - sometimes it doesn't pick up who is speaking correctly which can be a bit of a pain.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcription is no longer outsourced, saving time and money

Analysis no longer lives on paper / Miro - everything is in one place

  ### 36. Innovative research solution. Responsive team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps me and my team to be more rigorous in our research analysis. The tool is very powerful. We can more easily connect direct quotes or events from a research session to an insight. We can also use AI to help us conduct thematic analyses across many different research sessions and even across multiple projects.
The repository functionalities of the tool have just recently gotten a great upgrade, too, leveraging ChatGPT-like search for research. This makes our research insights and recommendations more impactful for longer.
When we have feedback for the Marvin team on how to improve the utility of the product, they are very receptive and have already introduced some of the requested functionalities mutliple times since being a customer for less than a year.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes the transcription quality can vary which requires me to manually fix the transcript to be able to fully leverage the AI capabilities.
The live note-taking is great, but I wish there were a way that I could take live notes myself while also having the AI take notes simultaneously.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps us to be more rigourous in our research analyses by making it easier to capture, tag, and organize all of our research notes; and then realize themes through those notes.
it also helps us to heighten the impact of our research through a very useful AI-powered repository tool.

  ### 37. Magic-like experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aviad H. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It keeps suprising me: Transcript works in Hebrew, AI features that actually provide value, awesome search and answered my support request fast.Freemium tier gives you everything you need to know about the product.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The transcript works great in many languages but the default is English, which means I have to wait until it's done and than choose another language and wait again while it re-transcripts. I wish it could auto-detect languages or at least not auto-transcribe when the language isn't English.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for 2 main functions:
1. Usability tests and/or user interviews. It's super easy to share clips with stakeholders.
2. Competitor research: I upload recordings and ask the AI to show me how they do different things.

  ### 38. We’ve taken our research to new heights with Marvin!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felicia W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I’ve had the opportunity to delve into Marvin's platform for our UX research activities, and I’m excited about the transformative impact it’s having! It seamlessly combines efficiency and user-friendliness, making it a valuable asset for us researchers. The transcription service is exceptional, quickly and accurately converting audio to text. Our research projects are well-organized and streamlined thanks to Marvin’s research repository and all of its features offer lots of possibilities! Marvin's support team is also great--they're always alert and ready to support us, making our experience even smoother!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I would say that the limited functionalities available to smaller teams are a bit constraining. We're eager to dive deeper and explore everything that Marvin has to offer.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is addressing several of our challenges by organizing multiple research projects and providing quick and accurate transcriptions of audio recordings. This saves us so much time and lets us focus more on in-depth analysis and extracting insights. I’m happy about the enhanced quality of our UX research outputs and curious to see where our journey with Marvin will lead us!

  ### 39. A game changer for getting the most from your research data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We're about 6 months into the journey of having a dedicated research repository. From the sales process to onboarding, and through to everyday use, our experience so far has been great. Marvin as a company is great, friendly, responsive, great customer support. Marvin as a product is excellent - fast, stable and nice to use. Equal attention seems to have been given to powerful features like tagging and AI as well as the overall user experience.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There's nothing I dislike. Marvin's support content (guides, help articles etc) could be more thorough in terms of the breadth of content and the level of detail in some of the guides/articles themselves. This is a minor thing however because their customer support is very good.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us with how we store research data, findings and insights and share those things with people and teams.

  ### 40. A gamechanger for in-house Design teams' research practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Features must have been designed by design practitioners or researchers, because it alleviates quite a few research burdens such as combining various researchers notes after an interview, transcribing and iterating on labels from the transcripts, creating parent labels; we don't struggle anymore to find a specific quote or idea from an interview or poll, browsing easily, extracting best moments for interviews. It makes sharing the users' voice with project teams and executives easier and so much more. It does so, connecting to other digital platforms we use to brainstorm and design.
Plus, we have been exploring the AI features, and it's been quite useful even in the bêta version; actually this is what convinced us to sign with HeyMarvin: the frequent releases and support from Marvin's team based on feedback we share.
It has become a daily companion.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Team settings management for admins may be a bit improved, allowing to create sub-groups/teams and to hide some data to some user sub-groups (e.g. hide confidential projects name, some groups of participants, and participants data or categorizations).

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with the execution of research, data analysis, insights ermergence, and research results communication as well as advocacy.
It saves us a lot of time (a lot !), simplifies collaboration and data storage, processing, valorization and reuse.
Transcribing and Labelling are key to research accuracy in our research approach.

  ### 41. Surpassed Expectations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I am a relatively new user and was very happy with the price. I thought, why not give it a shot? You can tell this product was built by researchers. I have evaluated similar products and they made very little sense to me. Marvin makes a lot of sense and is very intuitive. The AI features rock and it will save us a ton of time. I also love the integrations like being able to see summaries, comments, and video in Figma. We have a very small team and Marvin is going to be a gamechanger for us!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Some of the formatting needs help. It isn't too bad but a little annoying at times.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing us to analize faster and get insights into the hands of our designers and stakeholders faster. We know longer spend hours creating decks.

  ### 42. Marvin take our research team to the next level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It gives us so many possibilities, makes our work easier and allows us to do things much faster. Marvin has allowed us to get to very deep analyses in a short time and yet it has made the information analysis process shorter. It allows us to document everything we have on research and allows all the collaborators in our company to access user experience information easily.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Still improving some structure and bugs but nothing that will prevent us from using it.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automates the repository
Allows us to perform deeper and faster analysis
Allows the company to access information from users quickly
automates the transcription process

  ### 43. Essential Tool for My Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jess E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love the abiity to directly attach pieces of user interviews to "insights." This allows me to quick share valuable feedback with other stakeholders. I can be the one to comb through long interviews and then easily share only the important bits with others to provide credibility to UX decisions. I also love that customer support is so on top of things. If you ever have an issue, you can email them and they work to correctt things immediately. I use Marvin ever day.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I really can't think of any downsides. Marvin is so useful.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do a lot of user interviews and Marvin allows us to store and organize them, and then create meaningful deliverables out of that research.

  ### 44. Really great tool with Ai tools that are actually useful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is super helpful. They have a tool called AskAi that you can use on any research asset you upload (e.g. video transcript) that will give you answers relevant to your question. I'm also a big fan of their word doc transcript exports and how they format the names and time-stamps. Of the repository tools I've explored, this one seems by far the best right now. Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn if you have any questions (John Coker). Also, their team is next-level when you need help.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There is very little I dislike with the tool itself. Their smaller plans weren't as customizable as I would have liked...but maybe that's me wishing for too much haha. Overall, I'm a BIG fan of Marvin.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business records so many videos and meetings. It is extremely hard to re-reference them in an efficient manner. Their AskAi feature makes this so much easier.

  ### 45. Marvin is all we, ux researchers didn't know we wanted!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nayra S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The best thing about Marvin is that we can see they are taking the researchers bahaviours and needs into consideration. All tools and features are transforming something we took hours, maybe days to do in manual and improvised ways, in useful and very well put together solutions. They have an amaizing and close support team, we are always in touch, sometimes we sanding feedbacks, sometimes them bringing news or several kinds of traning we might need. Marvin is now, for sure, my number one research tool.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There is not much I can say I dislike about Marvin. ofcourse there is room for a lot of improvements on the platform, but the ux research team that I work on are often incontact with Marvin team, and they recieve all our feedbacks and suggestions so well and in a open minded way. I really can't ryhing of anything to put in here haha

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is a great repository, everyone can access the interviews recording of the whole company in a easy and organized way, this only is a GREAT start. Marving also deliver the interviews transcription, with saves a LOT of time, effort and money. Marvin has great tools to analyse our data, such as notes, highlighs and IA integrations that allow us to extract more intelligence from our work. They also have a impecable solution to organize the insights we have to each research, allowing us to connect evidences from the interviews to base them.

  ### 46. Fantastic tool for analysis, synthesis and storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We've been using Marvin for a few months now and it's really helped us think through how we analyse and store data to enable access for stakeholders. We were initially looking for a repository, but found that Marvin's analysis functions are incredibly useful for so many things.

The setting up of labels and tags for coding has helped us to think through what we're trying to learn before we start analysing, which has made the quality of our research that much better. This process has also helped us discuss our approaches to research as a team. Although it does take a bit more time in the earlier stages of analysis, it makes the write-up a lot quicker. It's really useful that you can edit the tags and labels on the go as well. The AI element has been a real time saver and although we rely mainly on human analysis, the AI is a useful validation tool.

From repository perspective, initial feedback from stakeholders is that it's been easy to locate research as we've uploaded historical data.

The support is first class and the team respond to queries incredibly quickly.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

We've had occasional non-responsiveness in the browser, but that may not be a function of the tool itself. Since reporting it to the team, it seems to have resolved. Getting a handle on how to use the tags and labels was a bit tricky at first, and when you have multiple researchers, it's important ton get clear on the difference between the two. After a bit of getting used to it, we're using it just fine now.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us code our data in a systematic way. This creates the opportunity for the team to get clear on what we're coding, how and why, which has been helpful in getting some standardisation in the approaches we take. It's also been good as a repository, although we are still in the early stages of this part of using it.

  ### 47. A great tool to aid in UX research analysis!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna B. | Senior UX Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It is very easy to getour recordings into Marvin, and then the transcripts are amazing. It has cut down my analysis time in half easily. We use it with every study we run.
Set up took no time at all, and if i everhad questions or suggestions for new featues or improvements Marvin was there to listen and improve things!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Thereis room to grow in terms of organizing my recordings and my findings, and as with every tool, there is room to add new features and improve existing ones.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin provides us a way to review and tag transcripts and video clips faster and easier then any other tool we have used.

Honestly, nothing! Sweet UX, Prayag the owner is an excellent human. The only thing I'd love to see is a slack integration

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps us agonate our continuous discovery process whereby product and insights folk can run regular customer conversations to improve product experiences

  ### 49. If it was possible to fall in love with a tool, it would be Marvin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

What I like most, honestly, is the culture of Marvin's team. I'm a heavy user and always bring feedback. They receive this feedback in the best way possible, always requesting it and delivering it at a speed that leaves me astonished. The evolution of Marvin, in the almost 1 year that I've been using it, is sensational. I've used several repositories and, by far, HeyMarvin is the best.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There's nothing I dislike, but I think that features focused on the research scenario at the most strategic level (problem space) end up being less prioritized

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is making it possible for us to work on concepts that were previously very complex and required a lot of labor and money, such as: atomic research

  ### 50. A fantastic tool for usability research only made better by an excellent customer service team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

How it let's me take contemporaneous notes during live or recorded interviews, without breaking the flow of the session.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The current model of access (yearly seats) does not fit squarely cases where one is not doing studies tear round. A per-month model would be great, with an option to a read-only mode during times when one is not doing studies.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin makes it super easy to take notes and connect them with the moment in time where they were taken. It's transcrition capabilities are excellent and its evolving AI features keep it a powerful and useful tool.
