### 1. If you are an UXR, then you will need this partner along with you

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonatan S. | Logistics Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Well there is a bunch of things hahaha, first, the AI capabilities are amazing, at the begging they weren't doing their best but nowadays marvin has invested in enhancing the way we can ask marvin questions, with natural language and it's amazing that we can discover unseen things, I often had to go and read all of my notes and check lists but now I have this awesome partner that helps me to do nnot anything when doing researches, another fact that I can't help falling in love with marvin is how tagging and labeling is becoming so easy, using each feature to improve the performance of my daily work

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think that one of the things that can be improve is the UI, sometimes I feel like I don't know exactly whrer to go to get something moreover I know that they are improving the app eveeryday, and, probably another thing is having more options or settings to use when asking to the AI side of marvin, I mean like the tone of the answers and how deep to search into each one or all of the researches

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My day-to-day routine has became more productive since marvin helps me to gather the results in a timely manner, allowing to check on each one of the sources of information, whether is an uploaded document with insgiths or interviews, it's wonderful to have this companion app with all these new features becoming better everyday

 ### 2. Powerful Data Insights, Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elsa R.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

What I like most about Marvin is that you can get a lot of cool insights from a very simple data analysis. The data analysis takes just a few minutes. If you've set up the discussion guide and have annotated the interviews or the focus groups or whatever you've done or recorded with Marvin, it's just very nice to be able to ask AI things and to come up with answers in just, like, a few minutes. One thing that I really like about the Ask AI tool is that you can use it to actually compare different interviews. So you can go into an interview and ask AI a question like what did the focus group participants or the interviewee think of this concept? And you can go into another interview, ask the same question, and compare the different answers. So that kind of helps you with comparing interviews. Even though you can also ask AI to summarize the insights from different interviews all at once, asking AI the question, the same question in different interviews gives you a lot of insight.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think that sometimes the AI kind of trips and invents things that aren't there. If you ask a question that doesn't really have data, it's still going to give you an answer, and it's going to invent it. It's an issue with all generative AI experiences. The learning curve to understand the features and use them to solve our specific problems was more challenging. Even after reading the how-to guide and FAQs, I still struggle to figure out the best way to use the tool. It would be great to have more guidance from the Marvin team. Also, it's quite expensive compared to the competitors.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps at every stage of the research process, from developing discussion guides to recording and analyzing data, with data analysis being the strongest feature. It's great to use throughout the research process, solving the manual work we had with insights before.

 ### 3. Purpose-Built for UXR, Intuitive for All—Needs Deeper Cross-Project Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marshall B. | Senior UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is purpose-built for UXR, and it doesn't attempt to be an all-in-one solution. Because of this focus, it handles the specific tasks required in user research exceptionally well. The features are robust, yet the platform remains intuitive and straightforward to navigate. As the UXR lead, I genuinely enjoy using the tool, but what I appreciate most is how easily our non-UXR team members can jump in and use it regularly. The onboarding process was simple, which is crucial for our goal of democratizing research and empowering squads to involve users in our workflow. Teams are now sharing user insights during meetings, standups, and product strategy sessions through the HeyMarvin platform—this, to me as a UXR professional, is a true mark of success.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I wish I could do deep research in the cross-project analysis. At times the deep research does take quite a long time to produce a result. I REALLY WANT to see how many times each published insight has been viewed.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UXR has to match the speed of product. Without Marvin UXR becomes a hurdle to be jumped, but with Marvin we can produce insights at the pace of product becoming a tool rather than task to be done before moving on. Specifically, recording and handling PII well is a huge job Marvin helps with. The functionality to protect PII, get consent, and store data according to laws and policies provides the governance oversight our organization requires. Marvin helps technically conduct the interviews and surveys, but it also then helps turn those into insights and publish those for the org to reference.

 ### 4. HeyMarvin: A Research Powerhouse with Room for Navigation Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erika V. | Senior Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

HeyMarvin is the whole package. The more I use it, the more I keep discovering new ways it supports my research and design process - from organizing notes, to capturing insights, to adding interview questions ahead of time and getting accurate summaries afterward. It’s like having a thoughtful research assistant that helps me stay organized, save time, and focus on what really matters - understanding people and their needs.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The only thing that I have been noticing that I wish could be solved is that when I go into an insights document there is no way to just go back to the project I am in, you need to click the Home Marvin icon and go all the way to home and then go to your project and then insights and such. Please give us some breadcrumbs or back button! Thanks :)

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin has been a game-changer in how I organize and synthesize information. Before, I was juggling between tools to store notes, tag insights, and summarize interviews, and it often felt fragmented.

Marvin solves that by bringing everything into one cohesive flow. I can prepare questions ahead of user interviews, take notes directly in the same space, and then instantly generate summaries and insights. That means less time spent cleaning up data and more time actually analyzing patterns and making design decisions.

It’s helping me stay focused on the “why” behind user behaviours instead of getting lost in admin work. In short, Marvin makes my research process faster, smarter, and much more actionable.

 ### 5. Revolutionized Our Research with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa V.

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I really like the Ask AI feature of Marvin. It's very helpful when I'm trying to find a specific sound bite that I remember hearing or talking to our users about. The deep research and cross-project analysis features are also something I really like because they allow us to select different projects and pull out the themes and sentiments from users who are across multiple applications. The insights feature is really helpful too. I can quickly publish an insight, and it becomes a very public-facing, shareable link for anyone outside of the organization. It's nice that contributors or everyday Marvin users who are not active can see firsthand what we're generally hearing from users or stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes, integrating with Zendesk in Marvin feels a bit slow. Importing thousands of support tickets seems to bog down the system. I think those tickets might not be as helpful once imported since they appear pretty surface-level. I'd love better integration there and maybe it's on our side too, but adding those tickets doesn’t seem as useful yet. I'd appreciate more onboarding education to improve the integration experience. It would be cool if there was a smoother feedback gathering tool for folks not active in Marvin, like our sales reps or BD team, to input feedback without it being a manual bottleneck. A centralized area for them would make things much easier.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Marvin to centralize user research, quickly create insights, and reduce time-consuming tasks like rewatching sessions and finding specific feedback.

 ### 6. Easy Insights and Reporting with Helpful Support and Plenty of Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I like how we can use it to get insights about precious data, reports, with no troubles at all, it is easy to use, also easy to implement within all the teams, another thing is the customer support, they are always willing to help, and if you use google, there are a lot of integrations for it, a lot of features, and you will use them frequently

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Even when it have a lot of features, looks like it is stuck, we nneed more innovation, probably integrations with claude ai, or gemini

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking into professional insights of researches, and seeking information from the past

 ### 7. Accurate Transcriptions and Agile Analysis with Marvin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deborah L.

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I have been using Marvin since January of this year to perform transcriptions and interview analyses, and I am really impressed by how accurate it is, as it makes very few errors. This has been a great improvement compared to my previous experience with other platforms, whose transcriptions were not very accurate. I especially appreciate how easy it is to use Marvin, as it is very intuitive and its interface is easy to handle. The initial setup was quite simple and after a few hours of exploring the platform, I was able to understand how it worked. Additionally, the visual aids, like the explanatory bubbles that appear next to what you want to click on, are very helpful for understanding each section. Marvin has greatly streamlined the interview analysis process, allowing me to access information more quickly and accurately. I can even ask Marvin questions about specific aspects, which further speeds up the analysis. I highlight the quality of the transcription, which is crucial for some projects. The tagging functions and Marvin's ability to answer questions with broad and detailed responses are incredibly useful. The ease of handling, clear transcriptions, and agile analysis are very important factors for me and make me want to continue using Marvin in the future. I can trust Marvin to analyze large volumes of data, like a project with multiple interviews in various countries, without loss of quality. I give it a 10 and trust Marvin much more than other tools like ChatGPT for this type of analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes Marvin experiences 'glitches' that affect its functioning. Additionally, the analysis using Marvin's AI tool is not as accurate as expected.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamline the analysis of interviews, quick and accurate access to information, and quality transcriptions. Additionally, the use of questions improves the analysis, which is essential for managing large projects without losing quality.

 ### 8. Boosts Product Research and Discovery with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean B.

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I find Marvin to be incredibly useful for conducting discovery interviews and consolidating various forms of data, such as intercom and survey data, which makes it an invaluable repository for product research within our team. The setup process was straightforward, and even though we mainly self-served during the trial, the onboarding call provided by the team was insightful, offering great tips on maximizing Marvin's capabilities. Marvin effectively solves the issue of navigating differing opinions by enabling us to gather proper research and feedback from customers and prospects, and to present concrete evidence to stakeholders to support product development decisions. I love its feature of having a notetaker for conference calls, which eliminates the need for manual recording, and the possibility to link discussion guides to discovery calls is super helpful. The comprehensive labeling system and cutting-edge AI capabilities allowing us to perform various analyses are exceptional. Additionally, the automatic digest sent to our inboxes with updates and recent highlights keeps everyone informed on the latest changes. Marvin's seamless integration with tools like Zoom, Teams, Slack, and Intercom enhances its functionality, allowing insights sharing beyond the product team.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

N/A

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Marvin to replace opinion-driven product development with data-backed decisions, efficiently capturing and analyzing customer feedback to guide feature development.

 ### 9. Comprehensive Solution for UX Research Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Salvador A. | UX Researcher, User-Centered Design

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I appreciate Marvin's ability to record user interviews and team meetings in a secure manner, integrating seamlessly with MS Teams, which is essential for compliance with my company's requirements. The automatic generation of accurate transcripts within minutes is a significant time-saver, as it eliminates the hassle and expense often associated with transcription services. The synchronization of transcripts with their respective audio and video recordings, along with the ability to search and share them easily, enhances collaborative efficiency tremendously. The integrated analysis tools, including robust AI shortcuts, allow me to perform detailed analysis on both individual interviews and larger projects. The convenience of using the 'Analyze by Question' feature to obtain specific insights is unparalleled in enhancing the precision of my research. Additionally, the platform's research repository function is indispensable, allowing quick addition and publication of insights for stakeholder review. Having these functionalities combined in one place significantly streamlines my workflow and makes using Marvin a compelling choice.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I find the customization options for graphs and charts for quantitative data lacking, as I need to export them in various formats directly into reports or slide decks. Additionally, the analysis of quantitative survey data is not as robust as I would like, particularly when uploading data from Qualtrics or a spreadsheet. I also found it initially intimidating to understand the setup due to the many options available on the interface, especially the multiple 'ASK AI' search bars which were confusing at first.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin securely records and transcribes interviews fast, integrates with MS Teams, and offers AI tools for analysis, saving time and enhancing workflow. It also meets compliance needs and offers centralized access and robust functionality for UX research.

 ### 10. Essential Tool for Organizing Research Materials

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohitha A. | Research Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps me organize all the raw materials I need for research. I handle the initial groundwork in Marvin, and then my teammates continue the process from there.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

While there are features available for taking notes, I think the note-taking functionality could be more flexible.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is mainly addressing the challenge of reducing the time required to deploy research. We are currently in the pilot phase and still learning more about Marvin, but so far it has been helpful for managing our research repository and making it easier to locate content.

 ### 11. AI Summaries That Clearly Condense Research Themes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ibrahim K. | Digital Product Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The AI summary helps condense all the themes from the research conducted.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The layers of access needed to be able to view and do more within the tool

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyMarvin is helping us have a dedicated space to store user research we've conducted, allowing us to create our own snippets from recordings and using the AI feature to pull out themes

 ### 12. Game Changer for small UXR Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey K. | Manager, Digital Research & Testing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

As a small group, when we were introduced to Marvin, we had no idea the value it would eventually bring our team. We have shifted from providing research insights to only the applicable stakeholders, to offering and displaying research throughout our whole organization. It's easy to implement, scalable, organized, constantly adding new features and so quick to respond to any request, enhancement idea, or support we have. It's been an absolute game changer for our small, but mighty team, and it paid for itself within 2 weeks of use. We love it!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

As a new team starting out with a repository, we had no idea what we needed. I wish I would have asked to see how other companies thought to organize the repository or get feedback about what worked and didn't with other companies. Common case of "You don't know what you don't know" and at the time of implementation, we were just super green with the idea of a repository.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our team, Marvin allows us to make UX Research tangible - something we can give to anyone in the business. It's given a voice where it was just a whisper before. It's amazing how much our group, our insights, and our value has changed in the last year and a half since we implemented the tool.

 ### 13. Marvin Sets the Standard for Research Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alek W. | Principal Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've been using Marvin for about three years, and it's hands down one of the best tools I've worked with. While there are many standout features, what really sold me was the ability to cross-analyze across any number of projects, whether you're being highly selective or casting a wide net. It's very easy to use and implement into existing team workflows. I've used mainly the Pendo, Gsuite, and Gong integrations and have had no issues there.

Coming from a B2B SaaS product design background, I especially appreciate the app’s UX, UI, and information architecture. Kudos to your design, product, engineering, and marketing teams for setting the bar on what true cross-functional collaboration looks like!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One area I think Marvin could consider exploring on its roadmap is enabling comparisons between user-sourced insights and external data sources. There’s a compelling value proposition in helping users validate their findings against broader, real-world data.

Piloting this in a single vertical could be a great starting point.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin gives us a single source of truth for operating around our research. Instead of insights living in scattered docs or siloed teams, everything is centralized, searchable, and connected. This alignment helps us move faster, avoid duplicate work, and make more confident, research-backed decisions across the organization.

 ### 14. Makes Project Work Easier, Less Complicated, and Less Stressful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ionia B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It makes working on my projects easier, less complicated, and less stressful.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes it can be tedious when I’m typing something and it autocorrects it to the wrong word.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It causes fewer problems within my research group.

 ### 15. Marvin has increased UX research efficiency for my team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha C. | Senior UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Hey Marvin has revolutionized our UX Research workflow. As a team, we rely heavily on it for our research repository, recording user interviews, and analyzing data, and the support and response to feedback from the Marvin team that we receive always exceed our expectations.

What truly stands out is how much time it saves us. The AI capabilities allow us to comb through vast amounts of qualitative data incredibly quickly, surfacing key themes and insights that would take hours, if not days, to uncover manually. This speed directly translates into greater efficiency for me personally, giving me the ability to tackle more research at once.

Beyond the efficiency, Hey Marvin provides unparalleled transparency into our research insights for the entire team. With all our interview recordings, notes, and analyses centralized in one place, it's easy for anyone to access, understand, and leverage the valuable customer knowledge we've gathered. This fosters a truly data-driven environment and ensures everyone is on the same page.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One area for potential improvement in Marvin's AI analysis capabilities would be around nuance and contextual understanding. Occasionally, the AI might miss the more subtle implications, context within interview responses, or which speaker is the interviewer/respondent, requiring extra human review to catch these qualitative intricacies.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps us conduct research faster, creates a transparent research repository. This helps us become more efficient and democratizes research throughout the organization.

 ### 16. Thrilled not to spend so much time synthesizing UXR anymore!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie D. | Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Our team really benefits from having an organized, centralized hub for all our user research. It makes it easy to revisit the voice of the user whenever we need to validate decisions or identify patterns. But my absolute favourite thing about HeyMarvin is how it instantly transcribes and summarizes user interviews. It means I can run interviews solo without needing a note-taker, and it drastically cuts down the time I spend pulling key quotes, summarizing insights, and spotting recurring themes.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I’ve had a great experience using HeyMarvin, there’s really nothing I dislike about the product. One feature that could make it even more powerful would be the ability to generate a summary document within a file folder that pulls insights from all the files inside. It would be great to use the AI tool at the folder level to synthesize research findings across multiple sources.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyMarvin is helping our team conduct research quickly and effectively, which means we can deliver insights back to our stakeholders much faster. That alone solves one of our biggest challenges, the common pushback that there’s “no time” for research. With HeyMarvin, we can instantly transcribe interviews, get summarized insights, and keep all related artifacts organized in one place. It streamlines our entire workflow and makes it easy to revisit and build on past research quickly.

 ### 17. Intuitive and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

HeyMarvin has revolutionized my daily productivity, and I can't imagine my workday without it now. What immediately struck me was the ease of implementation - I was up and running within minutes, with no steep learning curve or complex setup process. This seamless onboarding experience made it easy to incorporate HeyMarvin into my daily routine right from the start.

Speaking of routine, the frequency of use is a testament to HeyMarvin's value. I find myself turning to it multiple times a day, whether I'm planning my morning, managing tasks throughout the workday, or wrapping up in the evening. It's become an indispensable tool that I rely on constantly.

The intuitive interface, coupled with powerful AI capabilities, makes HeyMarvin stand out. Its natural language processing turns my scattered thoughts into actionable tasks effortlessly. The AI-powered suggestions for task categorization and time management have optimized my workflow significantly.

I particularly appreciate how HeyMarvin integrates seamlessly with other tools and platforms I use daily. This interoperability creates a cohesive productivity ecosystem that streamlines my entire work process.

The ease of implementation, high frequency of use, and powerful features have collectively improved my ability to meet deadlines and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Add to this the responsive and helpful customer support team, and you have a truly exceptional product.

For anyone seeking to enhance their productivity with a tool that's easy to adopt and becomes an integral part of your daily workflow, HeyMarvin is the answer. It's not just user-friendly; it's user-empowering. Highly recommended for daily use!"

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I'm sure i'll find something eventually but as of right now i have nothing.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It maximizes time and organization taking my work to a new leve.

 ### 18. I've never used anything more useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madalayne R. | UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I use this product almost every day when reviewing and analyzing qualitative data from our projects and building out insight reports. I love how much functionality heymarvin has built out for analyzing qualitative data from various sources, creating a catalogued repository for data, as well as building out a research panel for use across teams. I find it very easy to import my research from various sources, add participants to my research panel automatically, catalogue the research, create notes and analyze it for use in my insight reports. It's easy to use, and fun to dig into. It's made research analyses accessible for our team without a dedicated UX researcher and saved so much time in analyzing data and in preventing duplicate research efforts in areas we have already been researched and catalogued across our organization. My experience with customer support has been very positive and they are very receptive to feedback and improvement suggestions, and have taken the time to train my team to better use the software several times.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think the insights report builder has a lot of potential. It has some very cool features but it definitely could be improved to be more on-par with other document editors, and some bugs could be worked out. The quantitative insights analysis could better complement the qualitative analysis features, even if the product is not meant for analyzing this type of data.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us to better understand our customers across various topics, and make data-driven product and design decisions. It's also helped us to be more transparent with the feedback we're gathering in sharing it with stakeholders.

 ### 19. Marvin has significantly accelerated my ability to synthesize research and share insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John P. | Product Designer, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has significantly accelerated the time it takes for me to synthesize research. The transcription and note-taking capabilities are incredibly helpful for gathering insights post-research. I've successfully uploaded documents from older research as well as videos captured outside of marvin so I can use the AI capabilities to query the entirety of the research I’ve done on a project. Marvin has saved me a significant amount of time; tasks that typically took days now only take a day or even hours.

The insights pages are excellent for disseminating information to cross functional colleagues. The ability to share specific notes or clips via a link has made research accessible to our entire team. This means I can share research earlier and more often than I could before.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The insights pages can be a bit "fiddly" to format. I find myself wishing for an easier way to lay out and update these pages. Additionally, collaborative editing on insights pages can be challenging when multiple people are trying to update the same page simultaneously, I’ve experienced my edits falling out of sync. Despite these formatting quirks, the overall efficiency gain far outweighs the time spent on these adjustments, especially since the pages are still useful for listing examples and linking to other documents.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is solving the problem of slow and inefficient research synthesis and insight sharing. As I mentioned earlier, Marvin has saved me a significant amount of time; tasks that typically took days now only take a day or even hours. I can be more agile with how and when I do research. It also helps by pointing to real examples (typically shared with a link to the note or an insights page) when vetting product requirements and collaborating with engineering, product and stakeholders.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The way it uses technology to ease work and allow automate lengthy and sometimes not so fun processes of analyses etc

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Nothing comes to my mind, the tool is very handy!

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me the huge benefit of testing Marvin was the impressive speed of processing information and the amount of features allowing analyze, sort, categorize etc feedback we're receiving in research sessions. Whenever I had the long recorded research videos or transcripts to analyze and help me find necessary insights, Marvin did the perfect job.
And it can act as the research repository as well allowing several teams to collaborate and share findings.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Wish it were easier to do more robust analysis on quantitative research or to marry quant and qual insights. The 'Ask AI' feature also sometimes misinterprets the query or provides irrelevant info, though it's a good idea and would be useful otherwise.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes visibility, tracking, and analysis of research projects faster and easier. Helps colleagues collaborate and create readouts with more confidence.

 ### 23. Great software that significantly improves how we do market research and conduct meetings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter K. | Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Been an early user for Marvin (before it was even called Marvin) and it has made our work much more efficient overall. As a strategy consultant, I've been using Marvin both for market research and to compile key insights from meetings. A few things that made Marvin stand out:

(1) Ease of adding meeting/interviews: Marvin offers a range of options, including integration with conferencing apps (e.g., Zoom, Teams, etc.), uploading recordings, and even uploading text notes
(2) Continual innovation: Marvin has continuously added new features over time, especially as it incorporates GenAI features; having GenAI has helped save significant amount of time with summarizing key insights, finding relevant quotes, and conducting analyses that would've taken hours of manual work
(3) Helpful support: The team at Marvin has always been friendly and responsive; they also listen to our suggestions and try to incorporate them into future feature development

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Only key feature that's still missing for Marvin is mobile compatibility. The interface on mobile isn't yet optimized and makes it difficult to see when trying to access the site on mobile.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides accurate transcription so I can focus on the interview or discussion. Helps identify and organize key insights from meetings. Provides a shared platform for notetaking that the whole team can easily access

 ### 24. Analysing interviews became delightful with Marvin

- easy video imports, automatic transcription
- perfect transcripts, other tools are not even getting close
- easy insight creation, easy tagging
- cutting out a highlight video takes minutes instead of hours
- you can integrate many external tools, like Zendesk tickets, survey tools, sales tools - to have all the customer and user insights in one place
- AI is built it from the ground up
- stakeholders can ask questions in an easy, Google-like way from AI that answers from all data uploaded, no hallucinations
- the UI is easy to use, very intuitive. Does what it needs to do.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are some smaller glitches time-to-time, that I'm sure will be fixed soon.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing interviews was a very time consuming, and often daunting task. Since I can use Marvin, I enjoy it, and I can deliver insight to my team in a much shorter time.

 ### 25. Solid tool for managing qualitative research and analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I actively used Marvin in my previous role with over 3+ projects. Overall, it helped me with video analysis, managing 300+ annotated notes, filtering and sorting to find insights.

Marvin helps streamline parts of the moderated research process from recording with the Marvin bot to uploading, organizing, and annotating calls.

It's also useful for quickly creating video highlight reels. If you use it from the beginning of a project, tagging and analysis can be more efficient over time.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There’s a bit of a learning curve, especially if you're used to planning studies in other tools. Things like writing your research plan or setting up questions might take some adjustment when doing it all within Marvin.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps streamline the qualitative research process, which can often be time consuming and mentally draining. Features like automatic video recording, uploading, and the ability to easily review, annotate, and filter sessions make it easier to work through the data and identify insights more efficiently. Reviewing sessions and exporting video highlights is straightforward, which helps me share more contextual and impactful insights with stakeholders.

 ### 26. Adding incredible efficiency to a small research team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh L. | Senior Manager, Research and Insights, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps us centralize all of our qualitative data in a single source of truth that is easy to analyze, synthesize and access - we use Marvin daily to record calls, quickly make sense of and interrogate our data, and construct meaning effectively from our research inputs. Marvin's customer support are responsive and help us sort through our issues, and their care and attention made implementation easy (coming over from another platform).

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is still working to develop new features, so limitations are being progressively improved upon, and we have seen a great level of responsiveness from their product team around key pain points.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin creates a way to help us effectively process and synthesize our qualitative data at scale and keep our learnings in a user friendly and searchable repository that is open to our whole company.

 ### 27. Great UX research analysis tool that makes interviews more efficient and insightful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The AI transcription tool has made user interviews so much easier to analyze. Especially with the search function, the large repository of recordings are suddenly an easily accessible gold mine for insights. Also love that Marvin's team has been super helpful in guiding our team to utilize more of their features.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There is a bit of a learning curve to the tool, and took me a while to understand the best ways to use Marvin for my needs. Would love a mobile-friendly integration for field research.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With a small team, Marvin saves me a ton of time by transcribing and centralizing interviews that make it much easier to search through for insights. This increased efficiency is also empowering our team to conduct more research and share findings with stakeholders more proactively.

 ### 28. Multifunctional repository and analysis tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We are using Marvin to record our user interviews and to analyze our data. We use the AI tools to start and then create our own analyses from there. It has helped us tremendously to do our work, and we are starting to see the benefits of cross-project analysis as we work with various stakeholders across our organization. We can quickly amass information from past research to help build and develop new projects and make good decisions.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are a few usability issues that crop up now and then. For example, the way the project groups are listed makes it hard to see the distinction between groups and projects (they need to use indentation). The AI analyses are a good start, but there are usually redundancies in the resulting analyses that have to be sorted through. It took a little bit for me to understand the differences between things like tags vs. labels. Lastly, the research panel feature feels underdeveloped, so we are not able to make use of that at this time--we are hoping that will get better as time goes on.

But whenever I've mentioned things that cause me issues, the Marvin staff are receptive to making improvements. Given it's a relatively new company, I am hopeful that these improvements will continue to expand the usability and usefulness of the tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Marvin, we struggled to use our research as a collective body of work. A project would finish and then it would just sit in the background. With Marvin, we are able to build a repository of our work, which allows us to dig through older projects to see how it can inform future ones. We are also better able to share our body of work with stakeholders across the organization by doing cross-study analyses based on a whatever important data points we want to focus on. Marvin also has solved the issue of transcription and notetaking during research sessions.

 ### 29. Best user interview software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhanu L. | Growth Strategy Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

1. Citations - being able to ask questions and getting citations directly to the source file is a game changer

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

1. Not being added automatically to external meetings

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a centralized repository of all my product interviews and being able to stitch together information across users to get assistance with product direction

 ### 30. Revolutionary research repository

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zohreh G. | Lead Product Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I like the fact that it truly acts as a research assistant, the accuracy of the synthesis, tagging and answering the interview questions is really impressive. Increases speed and efficiency of research significantly.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The automatic taggings are good enough but maybe they are accurate almost 80% of the time, which means there is still a need for a researcher to review, accept or reject and add more highlights in the interview scripts.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin increases the speed of synthesizing interviews to a great degree with a good enough accuracy, it also supports interviews in different languages with the same level of quality.

 ### 31. Great note taking bot with effective AI summary capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nelson L. | Senior Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's very easy to add Marvin to calls, especially with the Zoom integrations. The best feature about Marvin is being able to AI generate insights both from individual calls and across a library of calls. The citation footnotes make it easy to track which calls each insight is from.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes AI-generated insights can be too long. For example, I've had instances of Marvin generating upwards of 30 action items for a one-hour meeting. However, in some instances, this comprehensiveness can be helpful.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Note-taking has become very easy. Instead of having someone as a dedicated note-taker we can use Marvin and allocate our resources to other product tasks.

 ### 32. Great step-up for our research repository.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor J. | User Experience Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The AI features are the real game-changer for me. We had another repository previously and those features were limited. I didn't realize how much I needed them until I did a trial with Marvin and saw how much time the features saved me. The ability to upload my discussion questions and have Marvin take auto-notes against them is amazing. I also really like that my teammates can run queries on the data if they have follow-up questions.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Nothing so far. It took me a bit to learn all of the ins and outs, but that's standard for any new tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary one is a research repository. Secondardily, it's helping make the process of anaylzing and collecting qualitative research and feedback easier for me and my team. I'm a team of one, and I've found that Marvin has helped reduce the time it takes me to analyze qualitative feedback, meaning I can get important insight to my team quicker than before.

 ### 33. Nice combination of features: helps save time with qual data analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell G. | Principal UX and CMI Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

The searchable repository. I hate qual data analysis: nothing more painful than listening to hours of interviews and entering tallies for themes. Easy to create clips. Marvin is constantly listening to their users and adding new features/improving their platform so my "dislikes" may very well be fixed by the time you read this!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think Marvin has great potential but it isn't exactly easy to use and it really struggles with focus group/panel interviews. Some issues I've experienced: if I run a 15-20 thematic analysis based some some general topics, I have like 15-20 tabs open and it's hard to tell which thematic analysis is what. Drilling into specific notes from the thematic analysis means I'm often getting lost in the thousands of tabs and menus/submenus. Also, the thematic analysis are so high level they're not very valuable other than giving me a jump start on coding the data myself. E.g., I run a thematic analysis on Product A feedback. It will give me 7-15 themes...one of which might be "aesthetic" preferences", which it describes as "participants liked the color and control panel aesthetics". That is almost useless to my team. What colors did they like? Why? I have to then dig into the notes and listen to the videos to then code those responses myself in an excel file. The holy grail would be more in depth, quantified thematic analysis. If I could, for example, have it conduct an additional thematic analysis of 1 theme (e.g., aesthetic preferences") and quantify each theme, it would be irreplaceable to me. More tools for helping me do thematic analysis myself would be good as well. There is a lot I still don't understand about the platform and I generally feel that I'm not using it to it's full potential.

I'd recommend marvin look into how to better capture multiple interviewees in the same space - perhaps create some SOP documents to help users learn the software and build training into enterprise platform.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining thematic analysis, which I hate.

 ### 34. THE perfect tool for UX Research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martina B. | User Research Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

For my specific use case, Marvin is the ideal tool. I work for a company that develops niche software, which means we have a relatively small pool of customers available for interviews, tests and surveys.

It's crucial for us to centralize and effectively analyze all user feedback—from interviews, meetings, sales discussions, and CSM notes. Marvin excels at this, really outperforming every other tool we've tried.
The AI assistance is amazing, remarkably accurate and well-structured, ensuring no feedback gets lost among the various storage applications we used before.

AI is available in various places. What I particularly like is that I can take a lengthy explanation from a client, and AI condenses it into a short sentence, making it easier to navigate through the jungle of feedback.

Securing a consistent budget wasn't easy. Like in many companies, user research is the “forgotten child” that only gets attention when it pulls off something magical. But Marvin worked its charm—even my colleagues are curious now and use it to ask their own questions, and Marvin’s AI always comes back with answers that are smart, clear, and on point.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Even the best tools have room for improvement:

- Limited integrations: Key tools like Productboard, Microsoft Forms, and Trello aren't yet supported
- Support page:Though the support team is responsive, the documentation needs better organization and more comprehensive coverage of features (That said, the tool is highly user-friendly and intuitive, so you don't need it as much)
- Siloed project structure: Would like have more cross-project analysis tools, such as canvas or Kanban boards, plus the ability to share notes between projects. But I think, the team is working on this.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Building a user research repository to consolidate all documents in various formats in one centralized location.
- Easily accessing past results on feedback, use cases, and personas, with features like quick interview analysis, accurate transcription, AI summaries, and tagging.
- Ultimately, enhancing the value of user research within our company.

 ### 35. Marvin is a game-changer for efficient and accessible research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy B. | Head of Product Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Honestly, Marvin has completely changed the way I do research. The transcription feature is a lifesaver—it’s fast, accurate, and even works with different languages, which is pretty impressive. I also love the AI search. I can just type in what I’m looking for, and boom—it pulls up the exact quotes or themes I need from my interviews. It’s so much faster than manually searching through transcripts.

The tagging and labeling tools are super intuitive and help me stay organized, even when I’m juggling multiple projects. And let me just say, being able to tie insights directly to video or audio clips is a game-changer—it makes building reports so much easier. Plus, it’s great that Marvin works with tools like Google Drive and Zoom, which makes integrating it into my workflow seamless.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Okay, so Marvin isn’t perfect (what software is?). The transcription is usually spot on, but every now and then, I have to fix a few errors. I’ve also run into a few moments where the interface felt a bit clunky—it’s not always obvious where to find certain features. Oh, and I wish there were more integrations with tools like Slack or better functionality with Gong. For small teams like mine, the free plan is a bit limiting—we often need more interviews than it allows, but upgrading feels a bit pricey for how often we’d use it. Still, they seem to be working on improving these things, which is promising.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin has seriously cut down the time I spend on analysis. Transcriptions and tagging used to take forever, but now they’re almost effortless. I also love how I can query past research quickly—like, I can figure out if I’ve already covered something before starting a new project. It’s saved me from duplicating work a few times!

Another thing is how it makes research more accessible to my team. I can share insights with everyone in a way that’s easy for them to understand, and that’s helped get more people involved in the process. Overall, Marvin has made me more efficient, more organized, and way less stressed when it comes to managing research projects.

 ### 36. Powerful tool for interviews and analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeanette F. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've used a few AI transcription tools in the past, and Marvin is far and beyond the best at capturing transcripts with accuracy - not to mention in languages beyond English. The notes function provides easy qualitative analysis of our team's interviews. The "Ask AI" function is also helpful in searching for specific quotes or evidence of themes across interviews. Marvin simplifies and expedites our qualitative analysis process, allowing us to generate compelling reports for our clients.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are some features that the product team has not yet finalized - e.g. allowing transcripts to be saved in a new language once they have been translated. That said, their team is very responsive and helpful in finding alternative solutions.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through near perfect transcription, Marvin helps our interviewers stay present during interviews and not have to worry about taking notes. The notes function also allows us to seamlessly organize and analyze high-level takeaways across interviews. The primary benefit of Marvin in our company is increased efficiency in data analysis.

 ### 37. Marvin has streamlined our research and made insights more accessible to everyone

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon M. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

One of the features I love most is how easy it is to find insights using Marvin’s AI-powered search. It’s not just researchers who can benefit—anyone in the company can jump in and quickly get the information they need. Whether I’m looking at findings from years ago or comparing insights across different projects, it’s fast, accurate, and saves so much time. It’s made research feel accessible to everyone, which is a huge win for collaboration.

The observation rooms are another fantastic addition. They’ve made it so much easier to get people from different teams involved in the research process. Stakeholders are more engaged, and it’s exciting to see decisions being directly influenced by real user feedback. It feels like research is finally part of the conversation instead of being something that just sits in a folder somewhere.

I also have to give a shoutout to the Marvin support team. They’ve been amazing—super responsive, helpful, and always willing to listen to feedback. That kind of support makes such a difference, especially when you’re rolling out a new tool across a whole organization.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The one area where I think Marvin could improve is integrations. I wish there were more options, such as integrations with Rally UXR, Slack, and better functionality with Gong (currently, it only works for people with Gong admin access). That said, they seem receptive to feedback and appear to be working on adding new integrations, which is promising.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin UXR helps us solve two major challenges: creating a centralized repository of easily accessible insights, eliminating the need to dig through hours of clips for specific feedback, and improving research visibility across teams, ensuring that findings actively inform decisions.

 ### 38. Helped me a bunch in my customer interviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** André S. | Product manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It summarizes the content of my recorded customer interviews for me.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Their "Analyze" tool is good, but it's not intuitive to use. I wish I could ask it to analyze my recordings in its entirety and instead I need to do it through some "notes" that I don't know where they come from.

If I ask the AI to summarize and find insights for those notes, I do get good results, so I trust that the tool does its job but either I don't understand how to do it or it needs improving in that regard.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me analyze customer interviews I do. I can save the recordings, organize the feedback in one place and look for insights. It greatly helps reporting results.

 ### 39. Next Generation Research Tools Are Here!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody F. | Senior Lead User Experience Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

What I like best about Marvin...

- the increased speed and efficiency in which I can conduct research
- the tool is easy to learn and get up to speed with
- the viewing room and how easy it is to share and bring stakeholders into projects
- the price.... it is a very good deal for the efficiency gains
- being able to create a research repository and form longitudinal insights across previous studies
- the Marvin team is amazing; Prayag, one of the founders, Ryan in sales, and Danny in support; their team is so accomodating, knowledgeable, and they are beyond helpful
- at each of the organizations I have worked for, I have introduced and managed many remote/digital user research tools in my career, and Marvin is hands down one of the most powerful tools I have came across in my 10 tens of experience
- integration with our current toolset and systems was easy
- I find myself wanting to use Marvin for anything research related
- the file tag system and how easy it is to organize topics, features, projects, etc.
- being able to invite Marvin to Zoom meetings and have him take notes, so I can give my undivided attention to participants during interviews
- the user experience is pretty good - I love being able to upload/create a discussion guide in Marvin and view, click, and record notes/insights/quotes that are timestamped and connected back to the questions on the discussion guide.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I have have very few things that I dislike about Marvin - I'm actually struggling to think of anything but if I had to knit-pick...

- I am not sure that this is even a downside but with all AI tools you must ensure that you spend the time to "clean" your notes/data and ensure any notes/insights are captured correctly. Make sure to give yourself 10-30 minutes per session to clean/code/edit auto-generated notes, add file tags, and connect discussion guide questions to your notes.
- I wish viewers were able to have some of the note capturing features and add notes to any session being streamed/viewed directly from Marvin.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us increase the speed in which we conduct research, while also helping us create a repository of user research insights.
This benefits us because we are able to increase the cadence and frequency in which we speak to customers and uncover insights; ultimately it helps us to fail or to learn faster through increasing the speed of our design/research processes.

 ### 40. Excellent research repository and synthesis tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has been invaluable in helping me sort through video to find insights and snippets to share with the team. I love being able to ask the AI questions about the videos to get quick responses, with links to video snippets, to help me during research synthesis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

No major dislikes. It has a lot more advanced functionality I haven't gotten to, and features for larger teams, but for the core use cases it was built for it's excellent.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing, transcribing, and analyzing user research videos.

 ### 41. Treat Marvin as your user research assistant and experience its true value!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shreya A. | Sr. UX Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin acts as a true assistant for my work as a user researcher. Ever since I was introduced to it, I’ve used Marvin for every research project I’ve worked on. Its AI capabilities provide a fantastic starting point for analyzing research data. The reporting features are really solid, and I especially appreciate the ability to map quotes and clips directly to insights. Any researcher would know this is a boon. This feature alone saves me so much time during the analysis stage. Another thing I find super helpful is that I can prompt Marvin with just about anything—whether it’s to find quotes relevant to a particular insight or to guide the analysis process. Overall, it’s quite easy to implement, making it a seamless addition to my user research workflow, along with being a significant value to my research process.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

That being said, Marvin isn’t without its challenges. I’ve encountered some issues with the transcription feature, which can be a bit inaccurate at times and requires manual correction. Another thing to watch out for is that the AI doesn’t always fully understand the context provided in discussion guides. So, I’ve found that I need to be really careful and precise when putting up my guides on the platform to make sure the AI interprets it correctly while generating the summaries.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest problems it addresses is the time-consuming task of analyzing qualitative data. It helps me quickly map quotes and clips to insights, drastically reducing the time I spend on analysis. The AI capabilities also help me sift through large volumes of data to find relevant quotes, saving me from manual searching and ensuring that nothing important is overlooked. Overall, all of this is helping me decrease the time it takes to deliver my insights to teams, and taking them closer to users.

 ### 42. Marvin saves my team tons of time!

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love being able to use Marvin to query my research repository quickly and efficiently. The meeting transcription capabilities are pretty accurate, and my team loves the ability to easily insert video clips into our research reports.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are some minor "quality of life" improvements that I could see in Marvin's future, such as the ability to leave comments within research reports ("Insights").

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin saves my team time by providing nearly all of the tools that we need to conduct user research within a single platform. It allows us to record a wealth of notes and data points that we can easily organize, sort, and filter. Instead of accidentally duplicating work, we are able to use Marvin's AI feature to query previous data to determine whether a new research initiative is actually needed. Marvin also helps us to create more engaging reports with the simple method of inserting video clips, transcriptions, and direct quotes within our research reports.

 ### 43. Streamlining research with fast transcriptions and powerful AI-driveninsights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ka S. | Senior UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has become an essential tool in my research workflow. One of the most impressive features is the fast and nearly error-free transcription of interviews. I rarely have to make corrections, which saves valuable time and allows me to focus more on data analysis.

Another strong point is the ability to upload interview scripts directly into the platform. Questions become marked variables within the transcriptions, making the analysis process much more organized and efficient. This feature is incredibly useful for cross-referencing responses and identifying patterns.

The organization of participants, labels, and tags is also highly intuitive. Managing these elements within the platform makes the analysis process much simpler and more efficient, enabling easy and quick management of the collected data.

The generated insights are visually appealing, with various options for using quotes from the interviews. Whether through highlighted excerpts or colored text, Marvin offers flexibility to present data in a compelling way.

Last but not least, the integrated AI is a major advantage. The feature that helps me the most is the one that identifies participant quotes on specific topics, which is incredibly useful when synthesizing information and building coherent narratives.

Overall, Marvin has proven to be a powerful ally in my research, providing a more efficient and organized experience from transcription to final data analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One downside I’ve encountered with Marvin is the need for extra caution when uploading your research script as a discussion guide. If you have identical questions, Marvin will treat them as a single question, even if you intend to analyze that question in two different contexts within the research. The best approach is to always differentiate the questions by adding a number or slightly altering the wording.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping me tackle some of the most time-consuming aspects of UX research, such as transcribing interviews and organizing large volumes of data. The tool’s fast, accurate transcription and intuitive organization features streamline the research process, allowing me to focus more on analysis and less on administrative tasks. Additionally, Marvin’s ability to differentiate questions and manage data effectively leads to more precise and actionable insights, which are crucial for driving product decisions.

Beyond efficiency, Marvin enhances the way I present and communicate findings. The AI-driven features make it easier to identify key quotes and themes, while the visually appealing presentation options elevate the impact of my reports. Despite the need for caution when setting up discussion guides, the overall benefits Marvin offers in terms of productivity, organization, and analysis far outweigh this minor drawback, making it an invaluable tool in my UX research toolkit.

 ### 44. The perfect choice for research - interview transcripts, AI-assisted tagging, insights, & synthesis!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam B. | Design Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It is an incredible tool that dramatically shortens the time from hosting, recording, and transcribing interviews to insights, synthesis, reporting, and moving to actionable next steps. Researchers can tie insights and ideas for improvements directly to the video and audio quotes for evidence for prioritizing those improvements. Additionally, it's so easy to ask the AI pin-piont questions and get near-immediate answers. Finally, the AI can help with themes and trends within a group of interviews. It's so easy to invite Marvin to meetings and start gathering insights, it just integrates with Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or whatever meeting tool being used. Their customer support is top notch as well.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I wish there was a tier for small agencies that have fewer research engagements. The cost us high for my use case. I work at a product design company that's less than 10 people, and we have 1-2 research projects per quarter. Currently we're on the free plan, but are capped at 5 interviews per month. But our use case is 8-15 interviews per project, 2-4 times per year.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It uses AI to replace the tedious action of tagging and creating themes of challenges, pain points, and opportunities. It quickly gives proof of my "gut feelings" after a few interviews.

 ### 45. Marvin is a complete user research tool, and their AI is icing on the top

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is easy to use and integrates with different tools like Google Drive, Zoom, and custom integrations. You can easily set up your research and participant panels. It can even detect different languages and transcribe it accordingly.

The AI is very good at synthesizing insights from raw data. Unlike tools like ChatGPT or Gemini, it is custom-made for user research. It greatly accelerates the execution of research and reduces the time needed to analyze the results.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

It is very expensive for larger teams.

The AI summary for transcripts can be a bit broad so you need to use the auto-analysis for deeper insights.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small team, we want to be able to transcribe interviews and code them into themes. We also want to analyze the quantitative survey within the same project. Marvin reduces the time it takes to analyze both methods in a single project. It quickly provides transcripts of user interviews, making it easy to code them into themes, and generates graphs from the quantitative study. You can then use its AI analysis to generate relevant insights based on both methods, which really benefits us.

 ### 46. Love heymarvin!

- Research participants database management
- Project & cross-projects analysis, insight, andp laylists!
- Ease to analyse notes
- Upload videos: buffer to load/view them (work great when source = google drive)
- Reactive commercial team :)
- AI to summarize a content highlighted in a transcript
- Integration with Slack
- Public insight discovery portal

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

- Not possible to add a single / short feedback from a user without creating a document :(
- Might be interesting to have an integration with Zapier/Make to support more 3rd parties?

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UX research collection, analysis, and sharing

 ### 47. A great tool to accelerate qualitative research through smart, AI-powered synthesis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've been using Marvin for about a year to support our qualitative research and have been really impressed with the platform. Here's where Marvin excels: (1) simple, user-centered interface; (2) intelligent baked-in synthesis tools; (3) a responsive management team. (1) First, Marvin is a simple and easy-to-use app. The toolbar is unclutted. The file structure makes sense. It is intuitive to tag and classify your research and synthesize it on-the-fly. (2) Speaking of synthesis, Marvin streamlines the process of sorting through all different types of unstructured data, including audio recordings, research notes, and even sketches. (3) Third, beyond the actual application, Marvin's proactive management team (from the CEO all the way down to the frontline support team) propel Marvin to a trusted part of my research toolkit. From day one, the platform has been easy to standup and integrate into our enterprise systems. Other larger software platforms could learn from Marvin's commitment to quality, transparency, and proactivity.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

In general, I'm impressed with Marvin's iterative, constantly improving design. One area still ripe for improvement is the AI search bar, which restricts your input to only a handful of words before getting cut off by the available space in the form filler. The AI search still works effectively, but requires a bit of manipulation to refer back to the entire search string.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin streamlines the process of sorting through all different types of unstructured data from qualitaitive research, including audio recordings, research notes, and even sketches.

 ### 48. Great for research and evaluation teams of any maturity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps automate many of the tedious parts of qualitative research that prevent teams from using their brainpower on meaningful analysis. I particularly like the ability to invite the transcription bot to meetings (including scheduling it ahead of time), built-in discussion guides, and the auto-notes feature. There is minimum clean-up required on the transcript and jumping into tagging and analysis is easy. Getting Marvin set up was easy and I appreciated the customized onboarding that their customer success team provided.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is a bit more expensive than other repository platforms, but it also is feature-rich. Also, the auto-notes can sometimes come out a little wonky and require some QA to either delete irrelevant ones or revise incomplete notes. I do wish they had the option of numbering discussion guides in some way for easier reference, so I hope this is a future feature.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us transcribe user interviews and store them for analysis.

 ### 49. Solid tool for UX interview analysis.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zeke K. | UX Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I typically use Marvin when I want to analyze my harder/longer interviews. It does a great job with transcription, summary, most used words, etc in a way that is much easier than going to ChatGPT each time. I really love the notes feature when watching back interviews and timestamping moments to share with the team. Easy to use and worth trying out as a UX designer or researcher. Google integration is a plus.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The 5 files a month are limiting for the free plan. Hoping to upgrade at some point to unlock full use as we typically do ~30 interviews amonth.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin has solved trying to organize my research as well as offering insights I may have missed/could forget in the future. Essentially it speeds up how much research I can do.

 ### 50. Best AI User Research Tool Currently on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor J. | Human Resources Intern, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Simple to use with a bunch of Integrations to all of the main data collection application. Their tagging feature's are useful but their GenAI feature set is what really stands out! Lots of prebuilt features and ability to create your own prompts. They also passed Microsoft's security and privacy requirements so they will probably pass yours!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

No complaints specific to them. Transcripts can always be better, integrations less buggy, etc. But that's with any software of it's kind.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Executing quick thematic analyses.
