To know every feature and function in HeavyBid requires a great deal of time and effort. However, an estimator does not need to everything in HeavyBid to estimate effectively. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a consultant, HCSS products allow me to enable clients to improve their entire work acquisition and management processes easily and consistently. ### 2. I utilize HeavyBid for all our pricing projects - estimates, invoicing, change orders, budgets. We utilize the conform process to move these projects to HeavyJob so the field can record progress and time directly to the job and cost code. We utilize true-up to HeavyJob from our Accounting system for analysis. We utilize Equipment 360 for equipment records. We utilize Safety for our safety meetings and records. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** Honestly I would only like to see a financial system inclusion that would allow for more realtime connection to actual costs through invoicing/payroll. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We keep track of all pricing in the bidding software. We analyze our projects before, during, and after construction using HeavyJob. We utilize Equipment 360 to manage equipment. ### 7. I have occasional finish a daily inspection report, siigned it and emailed with distribution list and later found out its was not reported becuase photos the photo memories were too large. I then had to recreate the file and attached photos with lower file memories. I now reformat my photos with lower resolution and file memory. It is easy to navagate the different areas of the program which allows you to move quickly and efficently look for the information you need. It is also very easy to input information into the system. It is a very user friendly program. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** For me it is when I am looking for specific informations in our projects and it is not easy to move from project to project in the jobs section. It would be nice to be able to look at multiple projects at once like you can see all timecards at once. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The notes section is nice because it can give a snapshot of what happened on the site or if there was any information that the field would like to input about a code the infromation is easy to find keeping everyone informed. ### 12. Crews input their time and production quantities and the following morning when reviewing them, any changes are simple and intuitive to update. HCSS integrates new cost codes very quickly so as situations emerge that require us to redirect costs to something not already built in to the job, we can have them set up before the guys in the field even enter their time cards. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** I've worked with HCSS about some of my issues with using HCSS plans for marking up construction redlines and my issues were mostly quality of life changes (text box scale resetting with each use to a size that doesn't make sense for an 8.5x11 for example) and most have been resolved within a couple weeks. The new ability to carry markups between softwares has been game changing. We typically use Bluebeam for redlines for its dedicated PDF editting features, but HCSS is better for field personel working from iPads so it is understandable that it operates the way it does. Overall, I love HCSS, my only "dislikes" come up in Plans, but again, those are me being nitpicky. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time cards and quantity tracking are my primary uses for HCSS. Our primary work right now is unit based, so as the field enters production quantities we can book costs for the guys and equipment directly and then compare that to the revenue we are claiming for those units and identify trends where things are or are not working and adjust accordingly. ### 13. HCSS can also send me a link to share my screen in order to help me more efficiently with my issues. They CS group members are smart, quick and friendly to work with and I trust them with any issues I have come across in my 20 years of using HCSS. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** I was very excited to use Fuler Plus. However, after testing it during our training phase it is not advanced enough for our needs in charging jobs, pieces of equipment and shop hours for all of our fueling needs. I'm hoping that Fueler Plus will continue to develop more into a payroll time card function, like E360, and use it in the near future. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past we've had several DIS issues with not being able to send the data to our field employees, but the IT support has walked us through our issues, every step of the way, and we were able to get our payroll back up and running in a matter of hours. We will now have a 2nd DIS for E360 and are implementing this new software during the next two months. ### 14. We do this on smaller $ 2 Mil to $ 25 Mil Projects and we dont take the risk on bigger Transportation Projects. We usually perform 40-50 Projects each year and to maintain this revenue with Growth we have to bid upwards of 250-300 Projects each year. Heavybid allows us to do this. Heavyob makes it possible to track all of our Costs and Quantities on this many Projects each year. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** I have had a hard time keeping up with the updates and changes. The web based nature of the product makes it very combersome to use on a decktop. Beyond that, the customer service from HCSS and 24/7 support is incredibly good. Every interaction I have had with support staff has been quick and helpful. I learned to use HeavyBid by watching others use it for a few days, then picked it up myself. There was less of a learning curve than on other software I have used. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** It's helpful to know that HeavyBid can do everything I want it to, but making it do that is not always easy. It is nice the system on the ipad can be used offline as well and it automatically uploads the information when connected to the internet. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** We are having difficulty with extra work orders. The system in Ontario and the way the markup is calculated on our extra work orders is scaled which makes integrating it with the system difficult and, so far, it has not saved us any time and/or made this part of our projects any easier. We are working with HCSS to hopefully improve this. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are currently working with HCSS to hopefully allow us to do time and material records and invoicing directly from the system. HCSS does all of these things. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** While do not mind paying for great software, HCSS is consistently among the more expensive solutions that we spend our budget on. Licensing can be a headache also, especially for those of us who are transitioning from their desktop application to their cloud based offerings. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** HCSS's HeavyBid and HeavyJob products work to help us win jobs and then track those jobs through completion. The mobile applications have reduced and even eliminated paperwork in the field, allowing us to easily track time and equipment hours and expense. The monthly webinars are a great way to see what's happening and get to know their team. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** The website heavyjob.hcssapps.com works effectively on a computer for entering time and material quantities. The iPad app works well for this, also. It's great that there's a phone app, but it presently doesn't allow you to enter start and stop times. On the last webinar, it sounded like they were working on rectifying it. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** HCSS helps us avoid inaccuracies and wasted time. There are not a ton, other than connection issues when working in a VERY remote area, where even the hotels have diminished wifi capabilities (i.e. mining towns). **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, the best thing we utilize them for is their time card management tool.
