What do you like best about Handshake for Custom Services?

Lots of tools to manage my operations from a single platform. This one platform allowed me to replace three separate platforms that we used previously. The price is right, even for a small, low-budget office like mine. And I love that they are continuously rolling out new features and updates, so I always feel like I'm getting added value for my license. Maybe the best thing about Handshake is their service. I've got a dedicated account manager that I work with on bigger or longer-term issues/projects, and also also have their ticket system for smaller issues or tweaks, which usually are handled within 1-2 days. What do you dislike about Handshake for Custom Services?

Platform is still growing so some pieces feel a little underbuilt. They work, but could be done in a more streamlined and visually appealing way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Invest time up front in the onboarding training. Much of the platform is intuitive, but there are some nuanced things that are easy to miss because they're not technically required for Handshake to work properly, but that will provide extra value and clarity to students and staff who use the program. What problems is Handshake for Custom Services solving and how is that benefiting you?

My work is managing student and alumni records, but also engaging them in all aspects of their career search process. Handshake puts all of the data I need in one place, with powerful and customizeable analytics and reporting capabilities. But Handshake also manages our events, job postings, career fairs, outcomes surveying, and more... all in one place so every piece of data is tied to the student/alum from step one. What do you like best about Handshake for Custom Services?

Handshake allows for a ton of customization to your job posts. You can limit it to certain schools years, degree paths, GPA scores, and more. I use Handshake to staff the circulation desk at my library. I post the job description and application; then, I get a summary of who has applied with what qualifications. What do you dislike about Handshake for Custom Services?

I was having a hard time getting people to apply at one point. I don't think they advertise much themselves. You will have to do most of the work yourself to draw potential candidates in. There is also the fact that even if someone doesn't meet your qualifications they can still apply and clog up your system. Be very clear about needing additional materials besides a resume. What problems is Handshake for Custom Services solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are solving staffing issues while the handshake is holding virtual career fairs because of COVID. We are connecting with other staffing professionals to have interviews on campus. The benefit to having a virtual hiring practice is that it automatically digitizes all our documents. It makes it easy to keep track of applicants and cuts down on paper usage.
