Hack the box offers labs that help learn for real world scenarios in the tech field I think it's wonderful and fun. Another thing worth noting that hack the box has a great AI chat support system. It is very helpful in troubleshooting in real time with answers in my personal experience. Hack the box is pretty straight forward when it come to navigating the site. There is so many labs to be able to work on and try out to hone one's hacking skills. There is modules that are very informative and some even with target exercises to practice from what is being learned in modules. I got to say I really like PWNBOX as well very convenient as it can be used anywhere. I use this regularly since I am a college student at the moment for a cyber security major. The only issue for me at the moment might be the PWNBOX servers as there is some lag at time but it's expected as there is many people such as myself on these servers others using it as much as I do! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the practical labs. They are easy to follow, highly varied, and provide just enough guidance to set me on the right path while still allowing me to utilise my own reseach capabilities to complete them independently. The PWNbox is implemented effectively, and facilitates a no-hassle medium for completing the labs. I have used these labs frequently without issue. I have yet to encounter any problems or hindrances that required me to contact customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The modules in HTB academy are often information-heavy in one medium, and it is often long-form text. This can get tedious and difficult to absorb. Breaking this up with other mediums, such as more pictorial, video, puzzles, and short-form practical content, could help mitigate potential burnout. Additionally, it can be difficult to integrate HTB labs with real-life, ongoing work, as HTB labs exist as standalones. Being able to use our own tooling, or apply our own environmental adjustments, could be highly useful for making better use of HTB in the field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hack The Box provides a selection of interactive courses that are intended to provide students real-world experience. There is something for everyone, regardless of skill level.
Penetration testing, network security, web application security, Active Directory, and many more subjects are covered in the courses.
Its highly challenging and distinctive labs helped me get ready for the OSCP.
HTB gamifies the learning process by providing an immersive environment.
The competitive aspect motivates participants to push their limits.
It is incredibly user-friendly, and I would suggest it to everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing about HTB that concerns me is that occasionally the openvpn connection used to access the labs isn't very reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lots of courses, the courses are up to date, lots of practice, all info is in text, it's much easier and faster to read new material than to watch a video with it. The forum is great, there is a really good community which helps a lot with the practical part of the course. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very expensive, I would not even try it if my company had not bought some period for me, and even for the company, it's very expensive so I can not use it often. The practical tasks sometimes are impossible to solve without community help, some tips from the forum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hack The Box provides an exceptional learning environment for anyone interested in cybersecurity. The wide variety of challenges, ranging from beginner-friendly to highly advanced, ensures continuous growth and skill improvement. The interactive labs and real-world scenarios make learning practical and engaging. Additionally, the active community is incredibly supportive, offering valuable insights and discussions that enhance the overall experience. The platform's gamified approach to learning, with leaderboards and ranking systems, keeps motivation high and progress rewarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although Hack The Box is outstanding, there are areas for improvement. The ease of implementation for absolute beginners could be enhanced with more step-by-step guides or tutorials, as the initial setup might feel overwhelming to those unfamiliar with VPNs or ethical hacking tools. Additionally, while the customer support is reliable, a live chat option would be a welcome addition for quicker resolution of issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hack The Box has been a game-changer for me as I started my journey in cybersecurity. I appreciate that the platform focuses on text-based content, documentation, and practical labs instead of video tutorials, which allows for a deeper and more active learning experience. The structured modules in Hack The Box Academy helped me build a solid foundation in cybersecurity and were instrumental in landing my first job as a trainee at one of the leading cybersecurity companies in Argentina. The practical nature of the labs, combined with the variety of challenges, ensures a hands-on approach that truly enhances learning.
Additionally, Hack The Box offers excellent community engagement opportunities through its content creation and meetup hosting programs. I have been part of their meetup hosting program for a year, which has allowed me to explore their enterprise platform and expand my reach by organizing events. While I believe Hack The Box offers incredible value, the pricing can be a bit high for students in Latin America. However, I appreciate the fact that they provide discounts for students, even if they don't have an official .edu email, which makes the platform more accessible. I would love to see more regional pricing options or additional discounts for users from emerging markets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The challenges provided are for all skill levels. As a beginner I was able to jump in with limited experience and could solve some of the very easy/easy challenges. The Job role learning paths are an excellent source of knowledge as well. I took part in the SOC Analyst job role path as my goal is to become a SOC Analyst. This learning path provideded a wealth of information along with interesting challenges to keep you engaged along the way. When I got stuck on some of the challenges, I was able to reach out to the support staff. The response time was quick and the information they provided would help point me in the right direction. In the SOC Analyst learning path, some of the sections were quite long to read through and it would be benificial to break them up some more and add more questions along the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

the best thing about hack the box is that they are proving the hands on approch for the cyber security learning. provides live machines for testing and they have a active community for all the cyber queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
only limited content available for the free user, there is no guides or instructions to do things to own the machines, vip access required for retired machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the platform, the integration between theory & practice. I use it the platform almost everyday and can only recommend it. I contacted the customer support of couple of times and it has been very smooth, quick answer and resolution. Hack The Box is so much more than the platform, the community is amazing - weekly cube talks, discord and regular online events... I learn new things everyday and can see a direct application to my work. I find that in the overwhelming amount of online courses it's easy to get lost but HTB Academy has been the reference for me. Once I get the theory I can apply it straightaway to a box or a small exercise to reinforce that knowledge. I only hope that in a couple of years the certifications become the new industry standards, widely accepted by recruiters/HR and technincal teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the daily streak feature was implemented on the HTB Enterprise platform as well as the ability for certifications gained through the Enterprise subscription to sync to the HTB Account. Ideally anything that is gained and completed should show and be accessible on the user's account outside of the Enterprise platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been working as an Offensive Security Consultant for a while now, and I've got to say, that Hack the Box has seriously impressed me. Their academy is top-notch – it's not just about throwing information at you; they make sure you understand the why and how of everything. This is super important in our field where things are constantly changing.
But what got me excited were the intermediate pro labs. Having done my fair share of CTFs, I was looking for something that would push me a bit more, and Hack the Box delivered. These labs are the perfect mix of challenging and fun. It's one thing to know the theory, but applying it in these labs has been a game changer for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like more content for the cloud environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
