Since Adobe released Flash, only HTML5 has been able to overshadow it. Now, H5P is gaining ground thanks to its set of prebuilt activities and to its simplicity.
Especially, I like these aspects of H5P:
- H5P is free and fully standard, because it has been written in HTML5. It is a community-driven project which lets you contribute creating code and more.
- H5P counts with about 40 different interactive activities, which enrich your website with visual actions and questions.
- For me, the 3 best types of activities are: 1) Course Presentation, which allows combining slides with questions, and has a navigation system to move through the content. Course Presentation is like a full program itself. 2) Interactive Video. I like it because is also a full system of contents which use a digital video as a basis with its own timeline. Over the video you can add almost any type of interactive questions. 3)
H5P has made easy the classical activity of matching elements, which is my favorite.

From my point of view, some limitations are:
- H5P cannot run standalone. It has 3 different versions to incorporate it as a plugin to WordPress, Drupal or Moodle. This can be enough for almost all instructors, but if you want to run it on your Website (without using the previously mentioned tools), it will not run.
- H5P activities are fantastic, in general, but sometimes you need to modify the properties of some types of activities (like screen distribution). Since H5P activities are pre-defined, it can result limited for sophisticated and customized e-learning projects.

H5P needs to build more flexibility into many of the activity types. There are very few options in the settings menu for how the instructor wants to deliver the grade.
