**What do you like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

This product features a mature and well-architected core, with strong modularity across areas such as policy, claims, and billing. It offers cloud capabilities and supports modern analytics. The enterprise upgrade process is stable, and the roadmap provides confidence in its future development. It is definitely a go-to product for the P&C space. Extracted services like workflow, rate engine from its core gives good visibility and control and independent deployments.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

1. Integration with other legacy systems can be challenging. As an insurance company like CNA, we have numerous custom implementations, and the volume of data exchanged over APIs is significant. When we encounter performance issues, it is difficult to fine-tune and resolve problems within IG apps. 

2. The limitations on custom REST APIs often force us to extend existing APIs, even when the entity in question does not logically belong to that API. However, Guidewire does allow custom REST implementations for marketplace products such as WhatFix.

**What problems is Guidewire InsuranceSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InsuranceSuite offers a strong core foundation in the P&C space, making it straightforward to go live with minimal customization. We implemented the ClaimCenter Mammoth release by staying close to the out-of-the-box features and then adding customizations as needed. However, at CNA, we cannot rely solely on the standard out-of-the-box solution, as our business has many unique requirements that necessitate further customization.

**What do you like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

What I like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite is its comprehensive, modular design that allows insurers to manage the full policy lifecycle—from quoting to claims—on a single, integrated platform. It’s flexible enough to support complex business rules while maintaining strong configuration and integration capabilities.

I also appreciate the stability and scalability of the platform, as well as the continuous improvements Guidewire makes with cloud and digital integrations. It really enables insurers to modernize at their own pace while maintaining operational consistency.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

While Guidewire InsuranceSuite is a robust and well-architected platform, one area that could be improved is the BBG solutions and related support. These components sometimes face performance and scalability challenges, especially under high transaction loads or complex document workflows.

Additionally, Guidewire support for BBG-related issues can be slow to resolve, as tickets often require multiple handoffs between teams before a root cause is identified. Improving responsiveness and providing more proactive guidance for these integrations would make the overall experience much smoother.

Guidewire InsuranceSuite helps solve the challenge of managing multiple disconnected legacy systems by providing a unified platform for policy, billing, and claims operations. It streamlines business workflows, improves data consistency across systems, and enables faster product launches through configuration rather than custom development.

The biggest benefit is operational efficiency and visibility—teams can collaborate better, automate routine processes, and deliver a smoother customer experience. It also reduces maintenance overhead and enhances agility when adapting to new market or regulatory changes.

The move to the Cloud platform has streamlined the process for updates. For a small company like HEMIC, the transition forced our business processes to revaluate OOTB functionality which met our needs for most areas.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

Since moving to the cloud in 2023, we have been collecting data to better estimate our return on investment. While it remains challenging to quickly measure the perceived savings, we do appreciate the convenience of no longer needing to manage multiple vendors and handle security ourselves.

This solution offers a unified enterprise system that manages policy, billing, and claims administration, while also providing the flexibility needed to support the growth of our companies.

**What do you like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

Each application in the Guidewire InsuranceSuite is built and maintained with seemless integration. Policy, Claim, and Billing just work together. The ability to setup with rules and configuration that are independently in each application while maintaining the integrety between the applications is also an advantage. The ease of use along with the excellent customer support provided by the Guidewire teams has made the implementation of the Guidewire Cloud Insurance Suite has transformed our business into a world class enterprise. The ability to remain agile with current industry changes and security best practices has positioned our company not only for success today, but for the forseeable future. Guidewire maintains the networking and resources along with the security for hosting and informs/assist with any issues that need our attention.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

The least appealing portion of the InsuranceSuite is the some the administration and configuration formerly handled by Guidewire as part of the SAAS subscription have been pushed back to us the customer, requiring our team to have need of an administration specialist to manage these changes.

**What problems is Guidewire InsuranceSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidewire InsuranceSuite solved the problem of multiple aging systems/platforms that were long out of compliance and difficult to maintain. The Guidewire InsuranceSuite has provided one-pane of glass where all lines of our property and casualty insurance are in 1 system accessible by all teams from the producers to the rating analyst.

Guidewire is a comprehensive and integrated platform that evolves quickly (at least 3 times a year), where insurance company can customize easily to met their own requirements. Guidewire is investing a lot on R&D to stay up to date with the latest trend and customer needs.

Guidewire can be pretty expensive for an small insurance company, especially the cloud solution. It also requires external consulting service due to the complexity of the entire framework and landscape.

As a consulting developer, Guidewire helps me to quickly and easily develop solution to met customer requirements, using templates, known processes, standards and other guidelines.

**What do you like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

The think I probably like best about the Guidewire products is their integration with one another. It is not extremely difficult to pass data between PC, BC, and CC. A policy can be issued in PC, a billed paid to the account in BC, and a claim filed in CC for the same policy with little issues. I also like the overall look of the user interface with the applications. The look of all the difference centers are similar, but not so similar that you can't recognize the specific center you are working in.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

The things I dislike the most about the insurance suite is the extremely limited "out of the box" functionality related to worker's compensation related data. There really needs to be some kind of required date fields or report generating related to NCCI reporting. As one of the main compliance agencies in the US, reporting to NCCI is a major part of setting rates related to worker's compensation information.

**Recommendations to others considering Guidewire InsuranceSuite:**

Would recommend using the version of GW that is cloud deployed.

**What problems is Guidewire InsuranceSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company is using the Guidewire Insurance Suit to issue policies to companies or individuals, handle when claims are filed against issued policies, and billing companies for their policy coverage. Some of the benefits of GW is the one-stop-shop mentality of all the integrated systems they offer. This makes functionality and ease of use manageable across all departments that are using one of the GW applications.

Able to handle a claim effectively, ease of use and less processes for the Adjuster, very user friendly! Elephant the company I work for is in the process of upgrading to Guidewire 9 and we are so excited!!!!

The Insurance Suite contains three totally separate components, Policy Center, Claims Center and Billing Center. Each of the components are well defined and address vast scope which really helps when we wanted to incorporate some strategic simulation. The software is perfect for our auto and home insurance section.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

Expert Personnel are hard to find at a reasonable cost. We used consultants from vendors but had to compromise on end result due to cost constraints Customization is challenging.

**Recommendations to others considering Guidewire InsuranceSuite:**

If you are looking to use the core functions , its a perfect software and also they are very responsive plus good to work with. Company is growing and putting more emphasis on platform and customer experience. But however if you need advance level customization then you better be equipped with the right personnel   The whole thing is based on agile methodology,  if you need fast results , negotiating with vendor consultants in advance might save you time and money.

**What problems is Guidewire InsuranceSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration of policy, claim and billing center eventually helped us get our information well summarized and access to them in a more efficient manner. However, i would be honest , Guidewire's main lines of business are for home and autos and we do both of these and we tried to integrate health and other line of insurance product and customizing them beyond the core function has primarily been challenging.

It is not as user friendly as our previous in-house program.

Give it time to get used to it.

I like that our company was able to customize a lot of things for our specific sector of the insurance industry. 

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

This product doesn't specifically include our sector - the mortgage insurance industry, therefore it required a lot of customization.

**Recommendations to others considering Guidewire InsuranceSuite:**

Make sure this works for your industry - also truly scope out the project and ensure the customizations won't make this system not worth the hassle.  It really depends on your personal needs and the amount of work you can and will put into it.

This program is used to underwrite our loans.

Being customizable. I'm more on the IT side of the software and that we're able to integrate it into our system.

The biggest complete is the visual and graphics. The look is outdated

This has been a great tool overall. It was great to be able to configure to the organization’s needs. 

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

We had trouble implementing it at first due to lack of training. Adjusters would get claims even when they were out and overall it was just a training issue. We were now able to turn on a feature that allows them not to receive claims until they are back in the office.

We were able to cut costs and save time per claim using this system

This software allows you to easily keep track of what tasks need to be completed for claims. Some of these tasks are automatically generated by the software and you can schedule/assign tasks for yourself as well.

Sometimes the software didn't link well with the external correspondence system.

**What do you like best about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

Guidewire allows a great deal of customization, through their proprietary Gosu language which is similar to Java. It is used by many insurance companies and have a good track record.

**What do you dislike about Guidewire InsuranceSuite?**

Their customer self-service portal in particular is not as mature as their other products. We had challenges with how they implemented versioning in the back end. The product could definitely use more User Experience analysis to improve usability and design.

The Guidewire customer self-service portal provides insurance customers the ability to get quotes, buy policies, review/manage their accounts, make payments, and more. The portal provides a starting point for an insurance company to develop their own customer web portal.

I absolutely find it very easy of use and explain.
