**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

Overall, it's a pretty good database. The MIC offers a lot to our members. There is definitely a learning curve to the software (more on that below), but the support team is usually very helpful. Our organization is pretty new and I've only been using the software for 6 months or so, but as I continue to work with the software I find more ways to customize and make it work for us, which I love!

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Sometimes the software isn't very intuitive and it's often hard to find what I am looking for in the online tutorials, but like I said above, the support team is very helpful. While there are a lot of great features in the software, we would love more functionality out of the software. They have a system where you can request features (which is great!) but it's a work in progress.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

When seeking feedback from some of members on our business directory, I was encouraged to know that one member said every chamber she had been a part of in the past used the same software. This was great, because it made her user experience easier. When she moved to our area and joined our Chamber, it was a really easy transition for her.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just this week, we were able to streamline our new member onboarding process by using customized fields. While it took a little while to set up, it will be really helpful in ensuring that we welcome our new members to our organization in the same way! 

We have also recently used the groups & interests section to streamline ways for members to get involved! We're excited about this moving forward.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

The staff user interface is great - easy to navigate.  The membership and billing modules are well done.  GZ integrates nicely with the company website and members love having access to the Members only portal (named Member Hub in GZ).  There are a lot of things I like about this AMS.  They have a good wiki for online help and offer a number of How To videos.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

While I do like working in this AMS, GrowthZone falls short in a number of important areas.  

The online member portal needs to be built out a bit more.  The levels of security for what members can and cannot edit are not detailed enough.  They should be set up by field.   If you want members to be allowed to add their photo to their member profile, that also allows them to change their names.  We are using the certification/continuing education module as well, so when an employee leaves a company, what happens many times it that the company will just log in with the old employee's email address, request a new password, and change the name to their new employee.  When this happens, all of the certifications and CEU hours show under the new person's name when they haven't tested or attended courses.  

Another area where GZ falls short is the forms.  GZ does not allow payments to be accepted in a form.  This creates multiple staff steps as invoices must be manually created based on form answers.  You cannot set up a field to trigger invoice generation based on an answer.  Also, you do not have control over form layout.  So, when spacing is off or columns run together, one must open a support ticket which goes into development.  Solutions can take months.   

The field set up behind the scenes definitely needs work.  Using fields to merge data in the email module  is incredibly frustrating as you never know what you will get.   Field names are not consistent, and not always present.  Tests may show things working correctly, but when you mail live, you may get different results leaving merge fields blank in emails.  

Lastly, support is lacking.  The support team is very nice, but response time is slow.  Also, many times the level 1 team (first team that responds), may not understand the system as much as the users.  They also may not take the time to really read fully the support ticket submitted.  Support is set up with multiple levels, and it takes a lot of time to get the ticket through the "system".  Items are prioritized by GZ and unfortunately, their priorities may not be our members.  So, something that is very important may take months to get resolved or to learn that it will not be resolved at all.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

If doing a custom installation/migration, be sure to have a call with the GZ team at the beginning of Onboarding.  Get to know everyone that will be involved in the onboarding process.  Make sure your account executive has gone through an onboarding similar to yours.  Make sure you map out your membership business rules to share with the team.  Explaining them can get lost in translation.  Ask a lot of questions and chat with current and past clients.  It helps to hear what is working and what are points of pain from actual clients.  The GZ sales team is great but I don't feel like we got the full picture when we purchased.  But, in all fairness, how can you really communicate all the things about your needs to a sales person?  They may not be able to understand the nuts and bolts of your company.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We desperately needed an updated website.  One that looked current and had a good CMS.  We needed our AMS to be fully integrated and for the two to work together seemlessly.  GZ provided that solution.  Members like having access to a Member portal where they can access member only resources.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

There's not one thing...it is a comprehensive application that is extremely intuitive and easy to use for both staff and members. From events to communications; from membership to sponsorship, GrowthZone makes membership management and engagement simple.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

To better serve our dynamic association, we could use some enhanced/additional reporting features to pull data and 
need Event Attendee and Sponsorship dashboard widgets to measure member/non-member engagement at a glance.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

There are a lot of options out there in the membership-management space, GrowthZone was the best fit for us. GZ offers the potential to increase member benefits, personalize member experience and utilize our data to grow our membership. Since our implementation, there hasn't been a day where either one of our staff or member has commented on how easy GZ is to use.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Growth Zone gives us a variety of options to serve our members better, including enhanced benefits (some automated - even better) and registration ease.  Cannot wait to use it at in-person events!

Events registration is easy. Adding news releases is very easy and it is an awesome database

I dislike the discontinuation of the CQI module for Quickbooks.  You used to be able to click a button and it would sync now you have to import and export and it is way too difficult

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

Next to having custom designed software for your membership organization, growthzone coupled with Quickbooks is your best solution especially when you have a small work force and do not have funding for same.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Due to COVID we had to put all of our events virtual. Growth Zone enabled us have registrations, confirmations so easily.

The ability to have all platforms integrated and the ease of website updating and use.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Occasionally a change will be mad in the back end which affects our reports.  We never know about this until all of a sudden a report we used the day before now has incomplete information.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a much better way of handling our membership database.  GZ is somewhat intuitive, but when you wear as many hats as I do and do not have a dedicated IT person, occasionally I am challenged or just plain stymied. GZ Help always comes through, but the delay can be frustrating.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

Once you enter all membership information, it creates a system that is easy to use. Our annual dues billing and tracking down late payments has never been easier, and maintaining our membership database and directory for the website is incredibly smooth.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

The learning curve was rough because there are so many aspects to it, but the company did their onboarding quite well. However, when I have questions, it is somewhat difficult to find an answer, especially for the tough questions that aren't in the FAQ. I've resorted to using the Wiki to find answers. And it's especially tough to find someone to talk to.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had difficult keeping the membership directory online updated, and now changes and revisions are instantaneous--and can even be done by the members themselves. We are at a point in our year where over 60% of dues have been paid for the year (renewal is annually in January). Historically, we have never been at this point this early in the year.

Their customer service has always been top notch. And if they couldn't figure out the issue, they'd have a team look into it.

The Spike field doesn't sync with WMS / NAHB well

The custom reports are a life saver and help with our mail merges greatly. And if there's a very custom report that we can't figure out how to set up, they assist with it.

It's made specifically for Chambers which is a huge bonus over other AMS systems.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

The reporting is a more difficult due to limits on the fields that are available. It'd be nice to have a report that can pull all the fields. Right now I sometimes have to pull three different reports and combine in excel to get all the data I need for a single report.

It's been nice to have all the data we need to track in a single database that everyone on our team can access if needed. It's greatly helped our efficiency is prospecting, marketing and invoicing.

The communication module makes it easy to communicate with our members and keep track of that communication.

I do wish there was a way to add event attendees via an Excel spreadsheet after the fact.

I no longer have to custom code our database and member "info hub." The benefit will be that I'm not spending half my time fixing coding glitches for members.

That is is  not bilingual.  In New Brunswick, we are the only officially bilingual province in Canada and we must provide everything in both English and French.

How it tracks activities, tasks, communications, and engagements for each member, which is all displayed in tabs on the member's page. Great information agglomeration.

I suppose with its very comprehensive functionality comes a loss of simplicity and a greater need for learning, particularly self-instruction (though this is all well done in a highly organized manner).

I find it easy to use,  event integration is good and overall does what we need it to

It was a learning curve to start.  GZ does not integrate with Affinipay which is our credit card processing company.

We are solving a lot of issue we were having using YM regarding the database and website integration.  The database and website integration works great.

I wish the price was a bit lower. Or get a  price break during these times.

There is an app! I had a company reach out to me and they were going to charge hundreds of dollars each month and I found out that there was already an app!

There was not anything I could pin that I did not dislike.  The program ran very well from the start.

The major problem we are solving is the follow up for billing.  Being able to bill on a monthly bases I have been able to increase our renewals.

Ease of access for members accessing their pages.  Billing is also pretty nice too.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Not enough consistency with "Merge Fields" - I want to be able to use my members' names when I send communications and that is not consistent with all of the communications modules.

Again, billing was done through a bookkeeper, now it's all done through GZ.

I also like the ability to share ideas for new features that are necessary for our evolving industry.

Very user-friendly and allows our association to do all membership and event tasks in one place. Since it's online, it has been essential to our work-from-home transition.

Items I disliked in the past have been remedied.

Prompt response in providing information through reports. All staff see the same information and can log in with ease to review a member's account, communications, etc.

Our external website login for members is NOT customization at all! If they're looking for uploaded resources we have added, they won't appear in order of date - only alphabetical. This issue has been brought up with their GrowthZone/MZ support and was a suggestion for improvement

Easy to keep track of all our members and payments

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

Invoicing has become a great deal easier with GZ, from the standpoint of being able to email invoices to our members. I also like that members can access their own account through the HUB - this allows them to see their billing history, event registrations, etc.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Experienced lots of issues with GZ syncing correctly with BillHighway and NAHB; thus, causing major issues with our database information. The reporting is incredibly difficult to grasp and many of the reports do not function correctly.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

Because we moved from HAMMERS, which was an Access database, the transition was very difficult.  Be prepared for lots of "cleaning up." 

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing is easier. Member access to their own accounts has made things much nicer for our members.

> We're very sorry to hear of your issues with GrowthZone. The BillHighway/Dues Hub functionality is unique to home builder associations. This feature is very new and considered "beta." We continue to work closely with our partner, Bill Highway, to address these issues. Along with that, we are improving our WMS export functionality in case that is a better fit. Again we apologize for any trouble you've had. Please know our support team is always available via chat, phone or email to help you.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

We've been using GrowthZone for about 8 months now.  We had WildApricot but it did not meet our needs and was not as user-friendly as we needed.  We found GrowthZone just in time!  It is a reasonably priced association management solution to an association's database and website. The web platform is great and easy to use as well and I was not a web manager before...now I am because it is that easy.  It puts a great face on your association.  I have worked with higher-priced solutions (iMIS) and GrowthZone has all the features and more that our association needs.  We did the due diligence so you don't have to!  We are an association management company who manages two different affiliates so we purchased two systems for each affiliate/entity.  All the questions during the sales process were answered appropriately to help us make our decision. Taking the courses at the beginning helps to get to know the system. 

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

There are some minor restrictions but, for the money, it is a great product with many options.  It's very forgiving.  The live support is not the best but I can usually figure things out on my own when you try different options.  There is a great wiki area where you can find answers to your questions and videos, examples.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

If you are a trade or professional association, this is the product for you!  It does pretty much everything you need out of the box.  No customization needed.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have now gone all online for registrations, memberships, donations.  We have history now in our system where we were doing everything in real file folders.  A lot less paperwork and a great time saver!  The members are really liking the Member Information Center to manage their own records and perform financial transactions securely with the association.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

GrowthZone's ChamberMaster product has simplified our staff's work AND saved us money. We use most, but not all, the features allowing us to keep all our member information in a single, online place. We can access member info, event details and our credit card processing everywhere we go.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

There's a learning curve simply because ChamberMaster has so much to offer. I recommend new users start with all the basics and add features as time and budget allow. Watch and re-watch the many training tutorials. Then ask the CM staff any questions you have. Don't struggle through something you don't understand. We're a PRO V9 customer using many, but not all, the features.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

I encourage every chamber to use an online software tool, and start by looking at GrowthZone's ChamberMaster product. It makes sense to make your work life easier.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a staff of two so we use ChamberMaster to make life easier. The online tools make it easy for members to add/update info so our staff doesn't have to. Event registration is a breeze and the integrated credit card processing saves time (for our staff and our members) and enhances security.

It is new, so many things need to be developed as we go. This poses some issues and delays in getting work done, but it is a learning process.

If you  have patience, it will be an amazing system. Switching any database system will be tough, you just have to see it out through the end.

Needing a more robust AMS. We can now find so much of our information at a much quicker rate.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

We love Growthzone!  We have a new employee and she cannot say enough about it.  She came from another Association and she said  this is the best system she has worked with. It has simplified our lives and streamlined so many tasks.  From dues invoicing, events, name badges,  on site payments using  integrated payment processing to the members database and member information center where members can view their accounts, pay their invoices, see what events and programs they have attended.  It all works seamlessly. They also duplicated our website that we had just launched. Mobile apps are awesome.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

nothing.  If I had to come up with something it would be that we don't have an Auto-Member Roster that prints out by member type. We have to export the data and format the roster.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

Just do it!

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GrowthZone is a MAJOR time saver.  Invoicing for Dues and programs and events, tracking ceu's and OSHA Card numbers are just a few of the benefits we have realized

At the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce we have been so pleased with all aspects.  The social media updates, video education updates, customer service and more are what keep us as loyal customers.  They are quick and responsive and always happy to hear suggestions.

There isn't really anything that I don't like.  We are very happy customers.

Membership management can be so tedious and tricky.  GrowthZone offers so many different options and reports.  It makes my job easy when a client asks a question and I can quickly search and get the answer to them.

also love the fact that once a member joins or renews, everything is automatically updated on our website
the accounting portal is linked to Quick Books which has saved me a lot of time each week
the custom reports is also great for our committees

no complaints. we like everything about MemberZone

make the switch to MemberZone.. you will save time and money. you will give your members access to pay invoices online

GrowthZone is liking having another person working in our office! It cuts down on so much paperwork and helps us run our association much more efficiently.

I wish we had the ability to duplicate invoices.

Hands down the best software! We switched from a spreadsheet database to GrowthZone, but many associations that I know have switched from other software companies and also agree that this is the best!

It combines all of our events including registration and billing as well as membership. Having it tied to Facebook is also a real plus. The benefits are endless. I can't say enough about this software and the customer service is top notch.

The layout is very straight forward, easy to use and well organized. Easy to access and update member information, contacts and profiles. Event management is made easier with registration lists, member sign-up and for storing detailed event information. Additional training is always available through webinars etc.

It would be fabulous if it were able to integrate with Event bright!
