Many models are present in multiple file formats to avoid having to convert and possibly loose data, polygons or textures in the process. The community makes this site a great option to get a starter model on which you can build upon Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did not find file formats speicific to BIM software which was being used. Some models also had trouble loading all the textures in Twinmotion which made my work a bit frustating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GrabCAD Library is a great resource for finding not only specific products ready for 3D print or CAD software download, but it is such a big database that it is also nice to be able to view and browse files for the CAD files to get ideas from an opensource community to make your own 3D model.
