What I like about Google Virtual Private Cloud is that with VPC, we can create private and secure virtual networks to host our applications and services. One great thing about GCP VPC is a global network - no need to hunt your resources around different regions like you still need to do in AWS. Global IPs are simple to understand and work great.

Otherwise it's a modern VPC offering supporting all of the latest and greatest featuers like network tagging, firewall rules, shared VPC, VPC peering, Bring your own IP, packet mirroring and flow logs, and serverless connections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Back in the days it was super-simple to use but features were basic. Now it's feature-rich but of course learning curve is harder.

Another catch is that VPC network peering is not transitive, i.e. if network A is peered with network B and network B is peered with network C, then A can NOT communicate with. People usually trip over this limitation when they have a VM in network A that tries to talk to CloudSQL instance in network B and it doesn't work (since CloudSQL is provisioned in GCP-owned project which is then peered to network B).

You can deploy an internal load balancer as a workaround.

It's the same limitation with AWS VPC btw.

Cloud VPC is a virtual and ulimited network. You can achieve all tweak that you required: packet lenght, IPv6 support, routing, firewall,... The most famous feature is the global network. All the Google Cloud region are reachable in the same VPC, without any peering Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The first jump into Cloud VPC is disturbing. It's powerful, easy, and different of how you manage your network previously. It requires a little training to understand and leverage the power of that service/ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using google cloud as my primary cloud on my day to day basis. The things that I like the most are:

1: Major feature is it offers per-minute billing, which its competitor does not offer

2: The cost of resources is less competitive compared to other providers.

3: Google cloud offers us higher discounts on longer commitments.

4: Google cloud is best at its machine learning and Bigdata services.

There are a few things that I don't like about GCP are:

1: The one thing I dislike the most is that they don't have proper documentation for their services.

2: GCP has less number of features and services as compared to AWS.
