I don't want all of these intrusive "suggestions" all the time -- I just want to do my job. The most annoying one is definitely in Google Sheets where it keeps wanting to suggest things to do with my formulas. It's a huge distraction and is never what I wanted. I have explored trying to turn it off, particularly in the areas where it bothers me the most, but I can't seem to find a way to fine-tune where it appears and doesn't appear. It reminds me of when someone is counting and someone (usually a kid being obnoxious) starts shouting out random numbers just to be annoying. The very (very) few times that Gemini actually suggests something I would use it's not extensive enough to be helpful and just saves me a second or two of typing. It's not what you probably would call sycophantic; rather, it's more encyclopedic. That being said, it is also less creative and will also say it can't answer some questions if you phrase them in a certain way. You can, for example, get information about a physical ailment, but if you need information about your own health condition, you'll get disclaimers first. I wouldn't use it for generative AI because it doesn't seem to be able to switch voices. I've only used it for content and images, and for content, it's OK. It's just OK, not superior to others. It's easy to use on my phone or computer, and because of that, I often turn to it in moments of tech frustration. I find it's best for using to solve technical problems and dilemmas, or catch me up on technology with quick answers. I use it most on my phone for these types of features. **What do you dislike about Gemini?** Gemini is not good at image generation, at ALL. Also, if you ask for it to turn something into a template or document, it gets kind of stuck, at least for me on my end. I often have it tell me to wait to download just for the image or document to never arrive. Then the AI prompt is also quickly forgotten, and I must type it in again. Not fun. While it's easy to use, when it does the wrong thing with a prompt, it's NOT easy to revise, and you can correct it a dozen times, but it will often get "stuck" and keep giving you the same answer. There is no such thing as customer support, and I have gotten into arguments with it trying to get it to report a glitch lol to no avail. As a freelance writer, I don't have a lot of time to learn to fix a WordPress glitch or learn a whole software system. I often turn to Gemini for these features. I've also used it for short social media postings (text generation) and it' 's been great, but comparable to Chat GPT for those functions. It saves me time. ### 42.
