Earlier whenever we used to launch a new growth campaign, we used to first do a lot of work to upscale our systems for the upcoming growth but with the advent of BigTable, it has given us the capability for scaling in a jiffy. And we are very happy with its uptime/low latencies, overall extremely good performance.

Another good thing is the service that we get from the BigTable support team. It is quite good and fast. If at all there are any issues/downtime, a support engineer is always readily available to help us out and the issue is resolved in a swift manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to combine both SQL and machine Learning in one tool has not been made possible previously. In addition it is possible to actually store data in a horizontal way without directly making relationships between tables. This makes it very easy to actually find data and because storage is relatively cheap as well, it is also possible to store a large amount of tables without comprising performance and/or storage costs. Data duplication has been a problem in the past (which is why we normalized most of the tables before). Working with a database as a service which does not have this limitation makes it very easy to actually store data (even when not normalizing the data up front). Currently - compatibility with other systems is limited. With the introduction of Anthos this will become possible.The only thing you should take in to account is that you mainly pay for the calculations done on the tables you make. If the table is huge ór if you have a user that does a relatively cost-ineffective query, the costs can go up pretty quickly. Mainly when using large data sets this can be a problem. Performance and Scalability
