Nordigen/GoCardless provides a great Quickstart guide to their simple, yet powerful REST API for PSD2 AIS services.

This allowed me to easily integrate multiple bank accounts from different banks within hours.

The REST API sticks to common web development best practices, so it can be easily integrated in a wide variety of systems.

Also their support team managed a PSD2-connectivity issue, which was caused by my bank.

- free to use commercially for many use cases -> Nordigen is the only service on the market that offers account information API free of charge without any limits.

- fast communication and problem-solving -> anytime we have an issue and write an email to Nordigen, they get back to us very quickly, sometimes also over the weekend

- easy integration -> it took minutes from creating a Nordigen account until we were able to fetch real user data from connected banks (using raw API calls) and then a few hours to have it integrated into our system. The documentation is short, easy to follow and it just works.

PSD2 is relatively new. Banks in some regions (central Europe) are simply not technically ready. Some patience is needed until all banks are fully integrated and are working correctly. When something is not working, Nordigen tackles the problem very fast either by contacting the banks and resolving issues with them or by creating a workaround on their end. At the moment, we don't pay anything to Nordigen. We are using the free package and yet, they offer premium quality service and support that competitors cannot provide even in paid packages. Security of API login procedure could be increased (it is principally nordigen_id / nordigen_key only). The "sign a token with a private key" method other competitors are using is way more secure and does not introduce much more complexity Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest downside to Nordigen, is the lack of webhooks to get customer transactions. For Boogi it would be super valuable to get transactions as they come in rather than pulling the data daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The support they offer is better than what big companies offer, I have never gotten a reply within 24 hours and I am a free user for now. The documentation is clear and on point. I had difficulties finding the login for the premium API. When you search Nordigen on google you find a page with a login button which points to the open banking API. I don't remember how exactly I got to the login page for the premium API. When I finally make the move to premium I hope I will figure it out or they make it more clear.
